So got to play extensively today. Performance was much better, maybe some of that was tied to server issues earlier, idk.
I think the combat loop felt pretty good. Similarities to Mass Effect were hard to overlook. Feels like a beefed up version of ME multiplayer with flying and built to be a GaaS title.
The ranger feels like it didn't get much of an identity of its own. I look forward to seeing what the others bring to the table.
So far I see a game that I kind of wish was a classic bioware rpg though. It's something I wouldn't mind going through an extensive superb storyline in with great party members. I'm less interested in the commitment the game will ask for as a GaaS loot shooter long term.
I'll say that I do have an itch to jump back in which is a good sign.

LCQs (last chance qualifiers) are today and world tour finals are tomorrow. Season 2 news is going to land tomorrow, at some point, during the finals.
I've got no clue as to who is going to survive LCQs. The amount of killers going is ridiculous, and due to the nature of the tournament, you can get randomed out. Pretty sure a Tekken tournament was run the same way, and it was hype af.
Got even less of a clue as to who will win all 7 dragonballs. Part of me wants Hookgang to take it, so we can get a classic Jersey / New York style pop off.
Expect a lot of ghost oki, "There's no escape" Piccolo hellzone grenade loops, Bardock lvl 3's, and big bodied characters getting fuzzied to death by Gotenk's hoe ass.
Commentary is going to be gdlk. The tournament should be hype af.

halo 3 playing like it did is imo a big reason why a lot of people floated over to MW. It's not the only reason, as obviously it was really fresh at the time, but the difference between how good weapons felt to shoot in MW vs Halo 3 was crazy.

I've always gotten the impression that they really didn't care for the settings changes the community made in H2, especially MLG settings. I don't think they'd have ever stopped SMG starts if not for the insane uproar. The part where you can still get AR starts in H3 to this day is next level stubborn.
