I dont know how that image is transphobic
I'm not surprised if a Polish company is filled with bigots though.

im guessing because transgender people normally dont walk around with their giant erect cocks showing so everyone can see theyre trans
It's certainly fetishization but without full context this will never be a fruitful discussion.
Only thing you can say is CDPR doesn't have a deep well of trust on this issue.

Nice racism
By Kibner Go To PostIt taking time and multiple chances shows how it is representative of the values the dev studio/publisher holds.True.
There is nuance here concerning national culture and the level of sensitivity we are used to in the UK and US when it comes to handling marginalised issues.
Their past games have not shown them to be as a company averse to it. If I recall TW3 had a cross dresser and LGBTQ characters, heck you had the option for Ciri as well. I'll wait for the game to come out before making my judgement.
Transhumanism is a key aspect of the cyberpunk aesthetic - I hope they get it right.
By data Go To PostI'm just going to be honest with you all here. We're among friends.
I just don't fucking care.
And 99.99% won't. It won't matter a thing to them in the end
of course it won't be productive to discuss the image in isolation, but we have the context of CDPR being transphobic, and other harmful attitudes leaking into the game, despite them saying in the RPS interview that they're paying consultants to pull out the bigotry. it's really not a good sign that in the little we've seen, so many problematic elements have already emerged.
ultimately none of this matters since the game will be trash anyway

By Bold 2 in One Go To PostTrue. You can feature minorities and still have those representations be racist/transphobic/etc. Most recently, see Paradox-era White Wolf and causing an international incident.

But I will echo the sentiment, that out of context shot is good era-bait,
is an advert for tran-prostitutes really controversial in a cyberpunk dystopia where people swap out their body parts like lego on the regular?
By FortuneFaded Go To PostIs Keanu Reeves now a transphobe because he's working on the game?
Heard he's a Zionist tho.
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostNot heard about this, that's just lazy on Paradox' part.Like other people in this thread mentioned, it depends on context and how it is handled. CDPR has done little to make several people here confident in their ability to treat this subject appropriately.

There's no context for it yet but I'm not gonna fault people for being concerned while knowing cdpr's history.

Dafuq is all the fuss about then?
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostWith all furore I assumed the worst.Guessing the ad for a sex change being a girl with a big ass dick
Dafuq is all the fuss about then?
🤷♂️
It's because the ad says 'it'
That's what people are upset about. Because there is a seeming transvestite on the ad and the ad says 'It' (referring to the drink but the assumption is its a double entendre) and we're not even certain this IS a transvestite given the heavy body modification theme of the game. Just like a week ago there was a thread about Granblue having a trans character that didn't appear as a feminine woman and Era came with some 'THIS IS A STEREOTYPE' even though it was doing something different in recognizing the broad spectrum of feminity in trans culture.
And that's why I say I just don't fucking care. Because you're never going to win. I just don't want to be one of these era no lifers that spends every day of their life getting upset about everything in the media they consume because they either don't have enough problems themselves or they're looking for any and every distraction possible that doesn't require them to go outside and make the world a better place.

You got smoke for a group of people that you post just like? That shit is jokes homie.
I respect the honesty, but if people are tired, then so be it. This is capitalism.
Edit: People are tired of being constantly punched down on, in a medium in which you can make society however you want it to be. How can you blame them, especially when it's coming from this company?

I'm more shocked that people are shocked by finding out a majority Polish development team based in Poland probably has a lot of trans and homophobic people working there. It's like they've never met a single Polish person irl.
Is it ok here to consider the Polish as racist, transphobic, and homophobic by default? Checking for a friend.

By rerixo Go To Postboycotting companies because of one bigoted employee is silly, but that's not the case with cdpr, we've got enough evidence now to say that it's pretty representative of the organisation itself
boycotting because of one person :20 iq

boycotting because of launcher exclusivity: 100 iq
boycotting because you dont accept poland as a real country, and think it should be ruled by germany: 200 iq
this is just my opinion
This level design in The New Colossus.... :( I just hit Roswell, and I know it's still early game, but it isn't anywhere close to The New Order....
By s y ngmi Go To PostA big part of the cyberpunk aesthetic is asian xenophobia. Is it really xenophobia? I've been wondering for days.
It was a different time back then. Japan was a major superpower and was looking like they could take over everything. It's not like the Japan influenced cyberpunk aesthetic wasn't adopted by the Japanese either.
That question aside, what annoy me most is some liberals out there is probably taking all of this and presume that the current fear of the chinese government is xenophobic in nature.

well if they really start blocking google services on my huawei, then it's pretty fucking xenophobic imo
TNC level design isn't what bugged me the most, the whole game feels unfinished and unpolished. Like they got a third of the way through development of everything from the levels to abilities etc and had to push it out. It's really strange if you play TNO or even Old Blood close to when you go through it. Even the story feels like it ends abruptly.
Didn't they say they're getting lessons from Arkane studios now?

It’s a proper partnership, it’s not like they’re just helping out,” Ojerfors says of Arkane’s input. “They have contributed to many different areas. They have done boss fights, they’ve designed and built a new weapon – a tesla gun – but the biggest contribution they’ve done is to the level design.https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vg247.com/2019/06/11/wolfenstein-youngblood-preview-machinegames-arkane/amp/
“We at MachineGames have learned so much from that, when it comes to making these levels that are more open-ended in nature. There’s much more room for exploration and you return to areas and find new ways to move through a part of the city, you return there to do side missions – they’ve done a lot of work on that part. It’s something we’ve tried to reintroduce to our own parts of the game as well. It’s been a very close collaboration.”
