By Jokicic Go To Postcool. i really didn't like the last Wolfenstein game. Was pretty meh in nearly everything.
By Jokicic Go To PostTell me how it is. I played a bit on pc a bit and it seemed like a good game to play on the plane. It plays and looks fine to me in handheld. Played it on the PS3 and a little bit on PC years ago, much better than the PS3 version which shouldn’t come as a surprise.
By Red Blaster Go To Postdragon's dogma is really interesting for the first 5 hours or so but then you realize how drab the whole thing is and stop soon after thatMy experience the first time I played it was the opposite of that. It was drab for the first few hours and then got really interesting with levelling up and gaining new combat skills, fighting new monsters and so on.
Yeah, Dragons Dogma is staggeringly mediocre to start. Passable and fun through the midgame. And only 20+ hours in does it become something special.
First time I'm watching this NBA2K League...
I'm...not seeing anything special here. We could get a slaent squad and compete tbh
And the winner of the tourney gets $90,000 ffs.

By s y Go To Postfuck that and fuck any "it only gets good after x hours" gameNot mad at this opinion anymore
By s y Go To Postfuck that and fuck any "it only gets good after x hours" gameMost action games with an upgrade shop fall into the same category. Until the movesets are expanded and opened up, I wouldn’t call them good since the gameplay is usually limited until that happens.
DD is similar in that regard. The combat is great for an open world RPG, but it’s only great after levelling up and upgrading shit. Which sadly takes time. There’s plenty to the game that isn’t great and never really gets better though, the story and the art style for instance stay drab but the world itself and the combat, monsters and so on make for a fun game.
And then there’s the Bitterblack Isles content which is just *chef kiss*
It's ReShade doing path tracing (of a kind) using only pixel colour / brightness values and the z-buffer.
are people still remaking HL and HL2
it's not about textures and graphics anymore I feel we're well past the gameplay lol

If basic sword swings/punches/kicks and movement feel AND animates good and you can tell from the go that thought was put into those mechanics, then the combat is already good to start off.

I could tell from the first sword string, BOTW's melee combat was garbo
nothing in sekiro's skill tree really makes the combat any less basic, one dimensional than it already is.
still dont understand why jump cancelling isn't a base skill in DMC
Which why I was shocked that DD turned me off so much coming from the dagawd itsuno. I don't even think there was a lock on button. Hope the sequel is much better.
upgrade shops are some fuckery for action games
on one hand I completely understand not overwhelming new players with a bunch of stuff when the don't know the basics yet
on the other I wish they'd let more experienced people just buy the moves

I can't even use that as an excuse for Dragons Dogma... The game simply isn't even dynamic until way later in the game. Its a game that's only as good as the enemy in front of you.
Maybe DD is the exception but I wasn't getting that basic satisfaction or depth from the base combat id expect from an decent combat system. Maybe it was the class I chose, i don't remember but it was something with a sword.
I love immersive sims. Prey was great.
Really liked the art style, the gameplay, the enemy design and the story.

the 'campaign' may as well be the prequel too.only game i got time for that is kh2.
its worth pushing through - its the best 'souls' game by far imo.... all the from games feel like shit to me
at the same time, you can't ask people sit through a whole game to get to the game anymore

It's gonna depend on your expectations for it tbh. Most open world RPGs of a similar vein have some absolute booty combat. Skyrim, Dark Souls, Withcer 3, etc. DD is a good step up from them, but it's also a good step down from true action games like DMC, Bayonetta, etc.
By Zabojnik Go To PostI love immersive sims. Prey was great.I should really get around to playing it. Bought it shortly after release when it dropped down to less than £20 but I'm yet to play it.
Really liked the art style, the gameplay, the enemy design and the story.
Speaking of immersive sims though, Deus Ex MD was fucking fantastic even if it did end abruptly and likely won't see a sequel for some years, if ever.
By s y Go To Postbut no lock on though, like, what?i never had an issue with the camera in dd. git gud.

unnecessary detail but I'm so proud of him
my only issue is how dated it looks now, I feel like I missed out.

also i hate lock on on big as fuck enemies. its a crutch for the player and dev alike. you want that cyclops eye? learn how to aim or go up there and get it you fukkin coward
Was immensely disappointed by Mankind Divided. Didn't even care about the story enough to really notice the abrupt ending. Human Revolution is one of my favourite games :(
That said, the line 'good job Jensen, you fucking bellend' makes it 10/10

The only thing that put me off it is that I really disliked the first game. I remember buying it on release, being hyped af for it, then being very disappointed with it.
i can't imagine finding any kind of enjoyment in dishonored. the aesthetic, the controls, the enemies..... *shivers*

Also, that isn't a remake but a program called ReShader which is a generic... thing... that works with just about every DirectX game to modify how their shaders work. One of the newest features is what Horse mentioned:

Same. I barely got out of the tutorial area, before I had enough of mankind divided.

I really liked the first one. Bought and kind of liked the second one as well, but never finished it. The bad performance on pc (that however was mostly fixed later) kind of threw me off the game I think

ah fair enough Kibner

The story too fuckin ell

The first one was very much the same. Could really see city 17 vibes, from Arkane having worked on that cancelled episode of Half Life 2, and the Viktor Antonov vibes.
Never actually played the new prey. It's cheap though, so buying it now.
Also Rage 2 seems very cheap on key sites.

what I mostly loved about Prey is that it gets backtracking right, which is normally super annoying. The atmosphere was mint
I quite liked both Dishonoreds, things go sideways quite easily on hard lol. One was tighter, IIRC. The main assassinations were waaaaay more fun

By data Go To PostPrey was amazing. Dishonored is not so much.Kind of the other way around for me tbh
Love DH's art style, it's setting and the presentation but actual gameplay never grabbed me. Best part of DH for me was listening to the heart.
