Naughty Dog might be the next Bioware tbh. They arent shy about how crazy they are in trying to make the best game they can make but most of their games barely got over the line in time.
I wont be surprised if a lot of their best talent suffer from extreme burn out next gen. They already lost Straley.

TLOU 2 has been their longest production/development ever. They're probably still crunching hard but they've been promoting a lot of talen from within. UCLL directors are now directing TLOU 2.

By data Go To PostI think bioware is gone next gen and I think blizzard is gone the gen after thatYeah Blizz doesn't produce a new hit within the next two or three years or OW esports doesn't suddenly blow up they're dead.
All this esports stuff is in a weird spot right now. People love to talk about it but it's a giant money sink. Everyone in it, especially advertisers are basically just laying down infrastructure and hoping "the" game or games show up soon.
what are the chances of tlou2 release date tomorrow
or would sony just drop a trailer during microsoft's e3 show

By Kibner Go To PostDotA 2 makes bank.Dota 2, LoL, CS and Fortnite thats about it and all three of those have the capital to dump out giant prize pools thats basically it. Siege does big twitch numbers but I'm not sure if that's doing money for advertisers. Fortnite's money fueled generated almost entirely by casual cosmetic shit and CS/Dota/Lol are old franchises or a long running series style. For the amount of money that goes into most of these though actual eyeballs/customers/retainment isn't that high.
Big part of why you started seeing MK being pushed heavy in more serious circle the last few years is because WB dumps a lot of money and resources into tournaments for it. Smash is kind of on the flip side of that because ppl have been saying for years that Nintendo doesn't support the community enough and holds them back.
By rerixo Go To Postwhat are the chances of tlou2 release date tomorrowKind of doubt it since it's only a 10 minute stream, I do think Sony will maybe have another stream this month before E3 since Kojima mentioned that another DS trailer would drop in month last month.

I've no idea how much money is in something like Dota. But cs as an esport even with being pretty damn popular, is hardly a huge money maker. Valve I highly doubt makes all that much from majors and whatever, they get the majority of money from skins as well, which is what even grew the competitive scene in the first place and finally got them to leave 1.6 behind.
Even the biggest and best teams like astralis would not exist without investors willing to take the loss and serious government funding, both hoping it sometime down the line will be a worthy investment

By s y Go To PostBlizzard's size in insane. Bloated af, they in trouble.OWL esports shit totally backfired on them. Halo's comp shit post 3 went the same way too. Just tons of money on presentation and stuff like that when the actual numbers just aren't there. There was some hilarious tweet from slasher a couple weeks ago with him point out how some destiny streamer was broacasting a fortnite scrim/practice and getting more viewers (something like 110k) than an actual OWL match that was going on.

That's not counting all the cosmetics they sell throughout the rest of the year. It's not even sponsors that make TI such a large money tournament. The prize pool is just a portion (less than half? i think?) of all the Battle Pass purchases for the tournament. So it is purely player funded in that aspect.

The decline of Halo esports is too complicated to pin on something so simple. You actually watch some of the Reach and H4 pro scene? It's hilariously low budget, both in production values and the venues, to say nothing of Reach being a terrible multiplayer game, especially for the competitive community.
Another thing that keeps the number of viewers kinda hidden is Chinese streaming platforms. They make up like half the viewers or more for various MOBAs and shit but I don't believe Twitch is allowed there and it is harder to get user numbers from the streaming platforms they do use.

Naughty Dog's approach to multiplayer is weird. Clearly secondary to the single players, but they made it really good at first with Uncharted 2, before fucking it up for no apparent reason by completely changing the time to kill. Then it was bloody brilliant in TLoU, and they apparently ruined that as well by introducing better weapons you could only access through paid DLC.
Didn't care at all for it in UC3 or 4. Hope TLoU2 just copies the formula from the first game and fucks off the non-cosmetic DLC.
Sad I never tried TLOU MP. Looked and sounded really cool and up my alley but never got round to it.
I'm sure it was fun but to me TLOU's gameplay/combat was quite easily the weakest part of the game. Can't imagine having it be the focus
Just finished Metro Exodus. It was pretty good, though I'd say I mostly enjoyed the atmosphere and the environments. Everything else was solid enough, except for the AI, which is utterly unremarkable and brought the whole shooting / stealth experience down a couple of notches.
Gonna watch Chernobyl later today, what a perfect combo.

Dean last man standing, in cover with the last two players on the other team in his sights, plenty of ammo, both of them with their backs turned and no cover.
Runs in with his fists and gets lit up Legit one of my favourite moments playing games.

It was pretty cool π but the absolute shit performance π© made it easy to stop playing
However seeing Dean π€just attack people with his bare fists π€ from your own death cam was sensational. Absolute mad. Also worth it for Arnie whining π about unfair teams.
Edit :Hitch pls do not steal my Dean gossip
Also remember being the last man standing on some destroyed underground map, Hitch was with me, he died and there were two more enemies to fight. So I had to be extremely patient and hope I can get the win; so I threw a smoke bomb and then waited for them to come through the smoke and shot them both in the head with two bullets left and won the game.
Felt so amazing :lol
