RE2 is gonna make for some great Let's Plays. Got a week off a couple of days after it comes out, can't wait. Not gonna bother with the demo, seems like a slice lifted straight out of the game unlike the re7 one.
Is there enough interest in Anthem or The Division 2 here to bother making clans? Assuming either of them support it.

Capcom has got to fix the black levels in RE2. Shits looking gray on an OLED, tf is this. Almost ruins what they're going for, I don't remember it looking like this in the trailers. This was with HDR enabled on XBX, no clue if it looks better with HDR off.
Seen people saying it both looks too dark overall, and too bright in dark areas
Are they conflicting issues caused by different settings, or concurrent issues that occur in different lighting conditions?
How does revealing the map work in terms of the game tracking which items you've discovered and left? Heard someone say that just entering a room causes every item to be marked on the map which would be a shame

Just played the demo... did the controls in RE change for RE7 or something? It was so different playing the game using L3 to move/run.
Yeah, just re-traumatized my sis since it was past midnight here. :D

I never got the too bright impression. There's multiple hallways where Leon's flashlight should be illuminating a pitch black area, and especially on an OLED those situations if done correctly should be a good visual standout. But it's not. I haven't tried the PC version, but I doubt it's different over there. There seems to be a big memory leak (vram) in that version with maxed out textures. I get the impression that Capcom got some cleaning up to do for all versions.
As far as the map, I looked at it maybe twice and was just going around on my own. Didn't occur to me to check for items on it.
Patience is rewarded. If you keep the crosshair still, you'll get a critical shot. Only takes a few headshots, of that variety, to kill a zombie. That mechanic was clutch, in Outbreak (if your character had it).
That damn hallway with the Licker appearance...ugh. I cleared that shit like it was Rainbow Six Siege.
I beat it in 16 minutes, on my first attempt. It would have been shorter had I not been playing scared. Tried speedrunning it and panicked, because a zombie that I thought was dead put me on permanent tilt. Got cornered and devoured. :( Reset.
This is just...wow.

Tried the demo. Too creeped out to finish it. I'm not about to let my anxiety to resurface when I've kept that fairly stable in the past 2 years.
Will get it on sale.

facts
Wasn't trying to beat it as much as I was trying to see what changed between the original and this version (which was a lot more than I thought). Kept searching and exploring a lot as getting lost caused me to die. I am going to have problems with this game initially because I knew everything about RE2, and there are so many similar-but-different things/locations in this version (locations/item placement/enemy location) it's going to cause me to second guess. Even the Evidence Room "puzzle" stumped me because it didn't exist in RE2.
By reilo Go To PostNever gets oldI see what you did there.
Resident Evil 2 got datamined. Fixed camera mode is probably an unlockable.
Probably because the file name is there, but whether it's implemented is a different matter.

Grim Fandango got some weird ass puzzles/combinations at times.
By Freewheelin Go To PostUsing a guide, I'm too dumb to figure out the puzzles ;_;Nah don't worry.
LucasArts games can be pretty hard if you're not familiar with them, some of those puzzles are just weird as fuck and unless you try everything out, it's not like you're going to figure it out so fast.
played some dreams and it's exactly what i thought. super fun to just mess around and try other people's stuff but everything just feels super janky and none of the dreams were remotely worth playing beyond the novelty.

By Adam Go To PostMoneyhats on pc are apparently good for consumers too. Also no ability to buy epic keys from anyone other than epic so no price competition or 45 dollar re2 key situations.

Old. There aren't A or B scenarios in the new one.

I'd complain about RE2make but I just lured some zombies into a room so I could juke by them and save ammo so it seems pretty good

By data Go To PostI'd complain about RE2make but I just lured some zombies into a room so I could juke by them and save ammo so it seems pretty goodThere are definitely things to complain about regarding retcons and outfit changes from established patterns. The engine? Not much. Love the addition of limb physics aka Dead Space, camera has alot of sway but that's typical of those types of games (see The Last of Us).

Performance is great and it looks wonderful. It also seems to be somewhat effective, considering they pushed this out rather fast, among RE7 and are already working on REmake 3 and most likely another old IP that the DMC devs will most likely cover.
By Pennywise Go To PostTruly. In fairness... they were working on the idea of RE2 Remake for a long time. The only thing that was time-consuming was redoing the engine from the RE4 hybrid style and putting in a modified RE7 one. However, that meant redoing a large potion of the game and adding interactions so it was like they had to make a brand new game.

By Bold 2 in One Go To PostI have the RE demo, will the full game be solo-able?You can only play it solo I think
I don't think Amazon likes giving the $10 credit to those who ordered when preorders were 20% off lol. Just had to talk to them again to get my $10 credit for Smash after having to talk to them for mario party. Good news is I just got a $10 gift card for smash which is even better since the promo credit would have expired in 60 days.

epic aint taking a huge cut like the valve cunts, makes sense that they don't have the margins for certain shitty payment processors

People come back to this like an extra 10% through a single seller is bigger than being able to sell your game through 30+ multiple stores where valve take no margin.
Leon b scenario: S rank @ 2.27.24. Gud shit
well yes it is bigger than that, the vast majority of sales occur through the steam store. obviously it'd be nice to buy epic keys through resellers tho, im sure epic will add that eventually
