After I turn on my PC, around 15 mins after it's on
My PC does that sound like I just connected a new device
That windows notification sound when you connect a device I mean
Every time
Wtf is happening

Well, did you connect anything?
Could be a faulty connector on something like a game controller, usb stick, wi-fi antenna, even a hard drive. A way to troubleshoot would be to disconnect everything non-essential, connect them back in one by one, and see if you still get the message. You could also go into the windows settings and mess with notifications to see if anything pops up.
Another reason could be that some hardware, like the ones I mentioned above, need some specific drivers to work and some settings are not saving or something. So every time you start up your PC it goes through the regular startup processes, it gets to whichever one it needs for that specific piece of hardware to work, and makes the sound as it identifies it, updates it or connects.
That's literally the end of my knowledge on the subject. I imagine there are easier ways like going into Event Viewer or Device Manager and check from there but I don't know how that is done properly, sorry.

The monitor chat on the previous page was interesting. I’m in the market for one myself.
At the moment I seem to be in a situation where I either go 21:9/1440p/100hz, OR 16:9/1440p/144hz. Trying to weigh up which of those I want. Leaning towards ultra wide if I’m honest.
Really, I think I regret buying my 4K QLED last year, and wish I’d put that money into a top of the range monitor in hindsight.

You can try out what an ultrawide will be like on a regular 16:9 screen, might help you weigh up whether you want to go with a 21:9 or 16:9.
Just set a custom resolution and make sure you select to maintain the aspect ratio.
1080p add a custom resolution of 1920x810
1440p add a custom resolution of 2560x1080
2160p add a custom resolution of 3840x1620
By HonestVapes Go To PostIf that vlog made you cry, don’t watch the one by OC3D/Tim Logan.Wasn't aware of his channel but yeesh. Sounds like dude doesn't ever catch a break.
Makes that ltt video look like a joke.
Just finished watching that Linus video. I hope he gets a chance to take some more time for himself and his family.

Aye that’s a good pick up. Great choice for a mid range SFF build too

I mean, I haven't gone Intel on my last two builds anyway. I guess I don't even really consider them given the price.
By HonestVapes Go To PostI kinda want thisI was watching it earlier and started calculating how much I could get for my Predator and the 240hz, but then the section about bandwidth limitations came up and ... yeah. Even tho it's debatable how much I would notice it in practice, I just can't justify spending 2k€ on a monitor with such compromises in place. Where's DP 2.0 at.
Is three monitors one too many?
I have a stupid ultrawide question. Probably the first of many before I pull the trigger and actually buy one.
Can I display inputs from two separate PC's on one 21:9 screen? Essentially split the display down the middle and have my PC and my work laptop displayed side by side at the same time?

It's not a stupid question at all.
I haven't researched this feature, but I seem to remember it being a thing on LG ultrawides in the past. There's also specific LG software that goes with it, which lets you manage your devices and your split screen windows. Think it goes up to 4 devices even with thunderbolt and shit.
Can't speak for all the other brands, but my Acer doesn't have it and I suspect that's how it is on most UWs.
LG is your best bet, but be sure to look into it, 'cause they might've dropped it in the meantime.
EDIT: This is what I'm talking about.

Brilliant, thank you. I'll look further into it and start with those vids. It isn't a deal breaker but would be nice.

By HonestVapes Go To PostThinking of buying a second mouse for general use and casual games. @Kibner, what’s that ergo mouse you stan for?Either the Kinesis Vector RGB if you want something traditional or one of the Evoluent Vertical Mouse variants if you want something that is more ergonomic but worse for gaming because recentering the mouse on the mousepad takes a lot more time and effort.
I guess I should link things:
traditional: https://gaming.kinesis-ergo.com/vektor/
vertical: https://evoluent.com (i have the 4, but the C and D are newer and i don't know what makes them different or better or worse)

Had the wireless G502 in hand yesterday. Really like the mouse, it fits my hand really well. But for $150 I put it back. Came home, put the G703 to the side, and plugged in my wired G502. Wires sucks, but there's $150 still in my pocket. I'm getting old

Just paracord your G502. Honestly it feels as good as wireless to me.

I paracorded my Model O-, ordered from a UK site though. It made the switch from the wireless G305 to the wired O- pretty effortless honestly. When using the mouse, the cable really feels like it’s not there.

Dont know what paracording is?
By Smokey Go To PostDont know what paracording is?You replace the existing cord with paracord, which is an extremely light and extremely flexible. Installing one makes the mouse cord have almost no drag or push-back which makes even wired mice feel like even lighter wireless mice.
I'm basic af, so I just went with a grey cable, but sky's the limit Smokey. Any colour or combination of colours you could possibly want are availible to you.
Edit: Note to self, get the air can out on the O- soon.

By Smokey Go To PostInteresting. It's not that expensive, though you may void your warranty when taking apart your mouse to replace the cable. The inside of my mouse that I will be adding the paracord to tomorrow looks like this:
The five-pin up top is for the mouse cable. I believe the four-pin is for the RGB. There are usually guides to taking apart a mouse for the popular ones. It's pretty easy, tbh. Just have to be careful when opening to not rip any ribbon cables as those are the most fragile.

To add to that, you might want to buy some new mice feet if the screws are under them. Less hassle, and the feet are usually cheap anyway.
Just rip the current feet off, remove the screws, then when you’re done pop the new feet on.
I wonder if Logitech is working on a G Pro wireless 2. Could probably easily shed another 10 gees just by going with a perforated shell & shit. Hell, they could half the battery size / life and it would still run for days. Not that it needs any of that. It's pretty much perfect as is.

I wish they would, but it's probably as high on their priority list as a 60% wireless mechanical keyboard.
By Wahabipapangus Go To PostThat new razer wireless seems to have it beaten in the wireless space anyway.
it has?
By Smokey Go To Postit has?Kinda, yeah, though not necessarily as far as sheer wireless tech goes.
74g vs 83g, longer battery life, better stock feet, optical switches that are supposedly better than the Omrons in the G Pro, charging dock. Some of it falls into the debatable / personal preference category, but there's enough #facts there to warrant a response from Logitech.
Still a Razer tho.
OK that's pretty fucking cool. I think that case where the whole glass panel is a screen is gonna be the future tho.
