I think only EVGA (RIP) and maybe Galax were the only AIBs that binned GPU dies to guarantee a certain clockspeed when overclocking. Only with the highest end cards too, Kingpin and HoF.
I don’t believe any other other AIB bother, so buying any brand’s card is subject to the silicon lottery same as always. Could just as easily buy another FE and another Strix card and get the opposite result.
I’ve seen rumours many times over the years that Nvidia keep the best dies for their own cards but I’ve never seen data to verify that. If anything they likely do, but only for the sake of holding them back to release a Ti or Titan later down the line.

I’m assuming Horse is waiting for the nice man from Scan to come and install the 4090 in his PC and that’s why he hasn’t posted a pic yet.
I forgot to take any 😂
My case is fitted into a corner so I'm not unplugging everything and pulling it back out right now.
I'm afraid you're just going to have to use your imagination (the Gigabyte Gaming OC isn't exactly a looker tbqh). Mildly frustrating that the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO isn't very compatible with the anti-sag bracket but it seems fine.

Secured a 4090. Think it’s a Gigabyte OC or whatever. Have to do store pickup through Best Buy sometime next week.
I actually cancelled my 13900k yesterday thinking it’d be a while before I got a 4090

By Laboured Go To PostNew Smokey life goals.fuck,
time to upgrade.
Imagine buying a 13900k, only to get smacked by a lowly 7800X3D a couple of months later. Couldn't be me.
By HonestVapes Go To PostImagine upgrading when you could just be happy with your now last gen purchasesI am content with my 5950x, even in Eco mode. I need to install Afterburner again and see what the power curve is for my 1070. Optimize that a bit, too.

Don’t listen to Kibner
By Smokey Go To PostDon’t listen to KibnerI can't hear you over the sound of my ECC memory correcting errors instead of crashing or glitching my PC.

Preach 😭
Saving up for a house means I can't buy all these toys right away anymore 😢
