Let’s see your setup ya bum.

Because they are 😭.
You gotta push it all the way in and lock it, and then it’s fine. But nobody got time for that
By Old King Rob Go To Postbeen looking at monitors and im thinking i might just stick with 1440p. 4k doesn't seem worth it yet. i'd prefer the fps boost as 1440p still looks goodWish I had the answer, but I do not.
do most games support ultra wide?
By Old King Rob Go To Postdo most games support ultra wide? The answer is yes, but with the caveat that with some you'll have to apply community patches / mods, wait a few days for them to appear. And it won't always be perfect, sometimes the cutscenes will still be 16:9, stuff like that. If there's a way to add ultrawide support, people will do it.
By reilo Go To PostSome of those are almost as wide as a PS5 😬😬😬😬
You're forgetting about your PSU that takes up a chunk of space. Combine those two and you got a similar footprint lol.
A shame my FT02 isn't really setup for water cooling. I still plan on replacing it with an O11 Mini. lol

By HonestVapes Go To PostIt’s a GOAT case honestly. Who can blame him?Right? It still cools as well as just about any other air-cooled case on the market and at similar noise levels. The biggest things are that cable management on the backside isn't great, it doesn't support water cooling, and it is very large. I already upgraded the "front" panel on the top with USB 3.0 and USB-C, the fans on the bottom with PWM equivalents, and the acoustic foam on the side panels so it is "modern" in those aspects now.
Imagine if Silverstone redesigned the FT02 to have all those "modern" upgrades I made but also make the front panel able to mount a radiator instead of housing a bunch of 5 1/4" drive bays.

I had one too
My SLI ambitions (fukin RIP) caused me to abandon it
I had a £25 case back in the day that fit a single 120mm fan in the front and an 80mm in the back. Ignorance was bliss honestly.
Edit: I also had a second hand 560Ti powered with a molex to 6pin connector since my PSU only had a single 6pin PCIE power cable.

I am after a new monitor, this might be it for when I finish my new set up.
Replacing the yhuge oled??
By Smokey Go To PostReplacing the yhuge oled??Kind of.
I’m moving my own set up to a smaller room. My plan is to take the 4K/70 inch TV from the living room and put it in the master bedroom, and move my 55 inch OLED to the living room for the Series X/PS5. Not completely set on the whole plan yet though.
Updated the PG42UQs firmware, and it looks much better. Colors look better, and following TFT Centrals settings recommendations, the ABL hardly kicks in. I also ordered a monitor arm from Amazon's Lighting Deal and a VESA adapter as well. The matte screen also proved to be a good choice. Here is my CX and its glossy screen in mid day with some windows open:
Said it earlier, but 42'' really is the perfect size for PC use at this distance.

30”. Maybe a little shorter by a few inches since it’s on the stand for now.
By Patriotism Go To PostSmokey got that long ting
By Celcius Go To PostA monitor like this just looks huge imho:
27" gang gang ftw
Looks like the 48" version or his desk is really small, going by where the feet are located in relation to the mat. THAT looks to be a bit much, I agree.

4090 launches in a few days 👀
By HonestVapes Go To PostFantastic benchmarking station
The best
By Celcius Go To PostWhich 4090 model are you going with?
I’m looking at the MSI Suprim (AIO). Then the regular MSI Trio.
Something with an aio or a block already installed is the way to go in order to get it to fit in a large amount of cases.
By Kibner Go To PostSomething with an aio or a block already installed is the way to go in order to get it to fit in a large amount of cases. The AIO models still tend to be very bulky for what they are, especially when you account for the tubing exiting the side or end of the card.
Honestly I think the biggest air cooled 4090 has better compatibility with most ATX mid towers than than any of the AIO models do.
I am in a P500a which can hold a GPU up to 435mm long, and the case itself 240mm wide. The largest 4090, the Strix, is 357mm. Ezpz.

I can’t find the measurements for the MSI or Gigabyte AIO cards. Looking at them though, the MSI is maybe a bit shorter than most 4090 models however just as wide as the others. Plus the tube length sticking out the side will add another couple inches or more for the bend radius.
The Gigabyte looks to be the same again, but the tubes exit the end of the card, so that’ll limit clearance in the front of the case if you have an radiator and fans there.
For the vast majority of mid towers, it’ll be fine either way. There’s definitely plenty of mid towers that are a bit narrower or shorter in length than the norm where one or the other card would be an issue. Where as the FE would fit without any issue in pretty much all mid tower cases.
Vertical mounting would solve it for the MSI card at least. The Gigabyte will definitely be cutting into front panel clearance for fans/radiators in a lot of mid towers though.

I’m genuinely impressed that the rasterisation performance is so strong. Even more surprised that overclocking can net up to an additional 9% performance from what I’ve seen of the reviews.
£1700 though, way out of my price range.
