Given the special partnership Nvidia and EVGA had, I've gotta wonder how the other AIBS are being treated by Nvidia currently
By Laboured Go To PostSo they make PSUs which they make nice profit on, but GPUs made up like 80% of their revenue?
Some of this stuff sounds like their CEO has made a very emotional decision.
or they got a good deal with intel or amd?
would make sense doing some very public shit throwing at nvidia as well.
By WoodenLung Go To Postor they got a good deal with intel or amd? They specifically said they are purposefully not pursuing AMD or Intel.

missed that. will be interesting to see what they plan to do with their staff then
but could also just be they still have contracts with nvidia?
Other than the ATI Radeon x800 Pro I’ve been nvidia my whole life. But if evga changes their mind and starts selling Radeon then I’m going team red.
By WoodenLung Go To Postmissed that. will be interesting to see what they plan to do with their staff thenThey stopped ordering from Nvidia back in April, so I think all contracts with Nvidia are null.

Yeah, I am also worried for their staff. At least it looks like GPUs were a very small portion of their profit:

After thinking about this further, I’m going to sit out next gen and just keep my evga 3090. Then will see if nvidia cards are still furnaces for the 5xxx gen.

Stop it
By Smokey Go To PostStop itYeah who am I kidding… as soon as we see benchmarks and 80% performance increases it’s going to be hard to resist lol. I just wish nvidia didn’t have to treat their partners like this 😓
Maybe I’ll just wait for the eventual 4090 Ti or Titan if rumors are true. We’ll see…
By Laboured Go To PostI'm getting a 4090 and I am at peace with this.ronaldo.png

Thank you
Well, if anyone does want to go AMD for GPU next gen, apparently Sapphire is very similar to EVGA, as far as quality and support go.
Yeah Sapphire are legit, Powercolor are good too. I wouldn’t go with XFX though.
Apart from a dodgy choice of screws in the RX 5000 cards, the Asus AMD cards are fine too. As are Gigabyte’s.

Next gen is going to be interesting

By Laboured Go To PostSo up to 4 times the frame rate and even assists CPU limited games. Fuck me.Frame interpolation apparently, so the input won't actually be processed quicker, decoupling apparent framerate and input responsiveness.
By Laboured Go To Post4080 out November from $899.Is this the 12 or 16GB?
By Kibner Go To PostIs this the 12 or 16GB?
16GB is $1199.
By Laboured Go To Post16GB is $1199.Eww. The 12GB was originally intended to be the 4070 so this pricing all sounds awful to me.
4080 is double the performance of a 3080ti (or so they claim!), so I slightly get it but yeah some piss taking going on there too.
I’m going to assume they’re priced so high to try and price most people out of buying them and going for the 30 series instead.

Can't wait for all the reviews for all the new GPUs. Should last me the rest of this console generation.
By Laboured Go To PostI really didn't think we'd be getting a DLSS3 this soon.If it really is just frame interpolation like on TVs, it doesn't matter to me. Half the point of getting those higher framerates is so games control better.

That's quite a big if though. I strongly suspect they'd not be vaunting it to this degree were it a slightly better version of that. We'll find out soon I guess.
