Yeah you were pretty much on the money, it’s just hard to generalise across the different hardware since they all behave differently in regards to undervolting.
By HonestVapes Go To PostKinda shocked by the lack of options for 3080/Ti FE waterblocks.
There’s the fancy EKWB for £250, one from Corsair, one from Alphacool and one from Bykski. That’s all I’ve found so far.
Found one from Bitspower too. It’s ugly as sin.
If I don’t splurg on the EK block, I’m reluctantly thinking of going with the Corsair option. The Alphacool block def has the better build quality, but between the two the Corsair is the slight less ugly of the two.
The Bitspower block is a crime against aesthetics.
By Zabojnik Go To PostWhat about Heatkiller blocks? Nothing you like there?I don't believe they make a block for FE cards. Not from what I've seen at least. They do make them for reference PCBs and some AIB models though.

3080Ti delivery has been delayed on Scan’s end. Started to feel like the stars didn’t align for me afterall.
By HonestVapes Go To Post3080Ti delivery has been delayed on Scan’s end. Started to feel like the stars didn’t align for me afterall.Same buddy, same. Got the shipping notification, but DPD say they haven't received shit yet.
That said, I was waiting for the Alder Lake reveal to make a move on the rest of my hardware anyway, so it's less pressing for me.
My 6600k is struggling since I got the 3070Ti. Near or constant 100% utilization in games and getting a lot of stuttering. Save me Alder Lake! or at least force AMD to drop their prices.
By Laboured Go To PostAlder Lake needs to hurry tf up. I have money that I am willing to waste.Reduced your candle budget?
Tempted to buy the Meshlicious months in advance of new CPU and remaining components and with no GPU in sight, just to feel something.

no
By SavageGordonLung Go To PostWould you like to live meshliciously?Very much so.
Also, Pedja, ain't nobody dropping prices, CPU or otherwise, anytime soon.
By JesalR Go To PostSame buddy, same. Got the shipping notification, but DPD say they haven't received shit yet.I've been in work all day and I'm in over the weekend, so I'm not fiending to get it. Just concerned that the stock never arrive at Scan or whatever and that the order may get cancelled.

Would have guessed if they had stock issues it would have cancelled earlier? Maybe wishful thinking.

I’m thinking it’s likely there’s a delay on Scan’s side with either receiving the stock or being able to allocate it. Hopefully nothing will arise from it.

You can have my 2080Ti for a steal of a price too, Brexit be damned

Nah m8, I appreciate the offer, but you should sell it locally for as much as you can. <3 I want a HDMI 2.1 card anyway, gonna keep trying for the 3080 for another couple of months, otherwise I'll just get a 3080ti or a 3090, terrible price to performance ratio be damned.

Nvidia really nailed the design of these 30 series cards. Shame all the AIB went full Gamer with their design.
Really gonna be a shame to remove the heatsink and put a block on it.

Was thinking that I'll probably need WiFi on my machine, because I'm not certain that it'll always be close to the router.
Worth getting a motherboard with it built in, or an add-on card?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-Z590-PRO-WIFI-Motherboard/dp/B08VH8JZRD
Most of the M.2 cards I've seen say they're key A or E only, and I can't tell what key the M.2 slots are on the Gigabyte board that Vapes suggested

I’d go with on-board WiFi but be mindful with what WiFi chip the board uses as some are shite.
I’m not too up on the specifics with the M.2 interface, but I’m 99% positive that whatever modern motherboard you buy will take any mainstream NVMe PCIE 3.0 (or 4.0 drive drive).
Some boards might get a little funky in regards to SATA M.2 was on certain available m.2 slots though.
Given the price difference, I’d just go with whatever’s cheap from a reputable brand, with at least a 3000mb/s read/write speed.

Are only Z690 motherboards going to support overclocking? I'll be forced to buy a 300€ mini-itx board, won't I.

Some of the decent B550 ITX boards were kinda pricey too. My general advice is go for Asus or ASRock when it comes to ITX boards. Although ASRock have been sketchy with the overall design past their Z390 ITX boards.
The Z390 Phantom Gaming ITX is what I use with my 9900K, I also bought their budget oriented Z490 ITX board for my gf’s PC for the sake of memory OC on a 10400F. The higher tier Z490 ITX board had some pretty bad design though, it’s not something I would’ve gone for personally.
I don’t trust MSI’s build quality in the longer term. Gigabyte ITX boards, recently at least, are very good quality. Their X570 ITX board had a better VRM set up than every single X470 board that came before it IIRC. However, they tend to be weird when it comes to component and socket placements. Usually the socket is higher up on the board, which can cause issues with fitting some CPU heatsinks in certain cases.
One example is not being able to use a Noctua C14S inside the NCase because the higher socket placements causes the cooler to overhang the top of the board and poke out the top of the chassis. MSI have also been guilty of weird component/socket placements too.
