No regrets whatsoever. Been a great step up from a 4K/120hz IPS monitor.

I do have some gripes, but they all stem from being limited to HDMI 2.0 on my 2080Ti

Preference for shape and lowest possible weight are the only things left. There is still technically a latency advantage with wired, but it so minuscule that it's absolutely unnoticeable.

I thought that from tests done since 2018 or so, wireless has equal latency to wired(some suggested even lower which didn't make sense to me).

Lowest weight makes sense to me though, I assume that's also not going to be a huge margin though.

The difference is just a few ms between wired and wireless in general. There's wired mice slower than wireless mice though, as weird as that may sound. Seems that the reason for it is related to DPI as well as polling rate (500hz vs 1000hz vs 8000hz for example).

I think I've posted this before, but the test rig OT built for comparing mice is fucking incredible work.

There's two factors here. One is that there's a whole lot more different designs and shapes if you look into the wired market.

And then the other is weight yeah. It isnt a huge difference, and something like the new finalmouse (which is impossible to get at a reasonable price though...) actually is extremely light weight. But I love having a mouse as light as possible.

I dont mind using a wireless mouse for singleplayer stuff and causual pc use, but if I play csgo, I switch over to glorious model 0 minus (58 Grams)

it makes FM beautiful again

Rarely, sometimes I'll turn on my PC and then when it gets to Windows (10) it will show my windows avatar and the loading dots spinning under it but then instead of logging me in it will stay like that for like 30 seconds and then the screen goes black. If I reboot then it logs me right in like normal. Has anyone else been experiencing this lately? I've got all the latest windows updates and drivers installed.

My system is very stable and I never get any crashes or blue screens no matter what I'm doing so wondering if it's just windows being weird due to some update. Its very rare and otherwise I don’t experience anything unusual. I’m planning to jump to windows 11 on day one so wondering if I just need a fresh install. I ran the windows memory diagnostic tool and it passed fine.

edit: must just be a rare windows bug

I wouldn't think of it that way, because if the game supports that resolution, then it means the centre of the screen where your normal monitor would be, you'd see the exact same thing in that same space. So you can continue staring at the centre like you always do. The difference is you get more in your peripheral vision.

Im not in the ultrawide club, but believe it varies depending on the game. Some will crop the standard 16:9 field of view for a 21:9/32:9 output and others give you extended FOV in ultrawide.

Some do that, but most at least have a FOV mod or something. As I said, I never actually had a super ultrawide, so not sure how well most games work on that. But I see stuff like this and I get a semi

It does defeat the purpose, but not every game dev can crunch hard enough to implement proper UW support so must rely on modders to take 15 minutes out of their day to patch it in.

It is amazing how simple the fixes sometimes are. Edit an ini file or change some number in a hex editor... But too much work for the devs

It’ll always raise an eyebrow when a dev leaves out something thats viewed as simple, then it gets patched in by some rando on launch day. Like the original Dark Souls port being locked to console resolutions and then getting near instantly fixed on release.

Yeah, I hate that and fps caps the most. They really should be a higher priority.

FPS I can understand honestly. Shitty, but still I get why devs might tie the frame rate to physics for the sake of consistency. Especially if said game was initially targeting consoles prior to a PC port.

Lack of arbitrary resolution support or M&KB support is jokes tho.

For sure. However, when most mods to enable ultrawide on games that don't support it out of the box require a simple hax edit or little more, they could at least add it as an experimental feature and mark it as such. Some games used to do that for other things.

The new MacBook with the M1 or whatever cpu are a slam dunk purchase.

Get another Macbook they are fine machines especially if you are current user.

New one should have a MiniLED screen that i've been waiting for. Because I apparently need to spend $2500 or so on a netflix/youtube watching device.
