Kind of want to refresh my rig....with a upcoming i9-11900K ...
i probably won't
but i kind of want to

I plan to stick with my 10700k, but if I didn’t already have it and wanted a cpu then I’d consider the 10900k over the 11900k.
doom eternal at 300 fps is sensational
warzone at 1440p doesn't fully utilize my 3090 for whatever reason. it hovers around like 80-85%, but i'm still pulling like 170-190fps. 9900k is at 5ghz.
bothers me tho
but man...the drop from 4k which is what i've been using for the past two plus years on the daily to 1440p, is super noticeable to me.

I wasn’t gonna say it but
I finally got around to raising my cpu cache from 4500mhz to 4600mhz, to be within 300mhz of the core clock (4900mhz). I passed 8 hours of asus realbench overnight and the cpu (10700k) has been extremely stable ever since I got it last summer, but this is one hot cpu. I hit 95C during the test last night but I'm in the mid 70's during games and it always runs flawlessly. Cooled by a noctua nh-d14.

Still very happy with my 3900x performance, but would lie if I said I wasnt interested in upgrading again in the coming years time. Punish me Lisa Su

i do wonder how long we'll be stuck on shitty 30xx cards
next gen ryzen should be hype though. can always trust in lisa su.

i won't be selling my 3090 to offset the 4000 series, at least at first. gonna monitor the situation. if i held on to my 2080ti a little longer, it could've paid for my 3090 in full.

Wat
looks like resizeable BAR drivers are out for nvidia

No 9900k support?
e - appears that it's just asus slacking at the moment and now offering a reBAR mobo bios update for z390...every other manuf has done so.

have you seen second hand gpu prices?
I can sell my 2080 Ti and get a 3090 now? 🤔

now? nah, but there was a moment where you could get pretty in close in value to one.
My interest in the 3000 series checked out in January.
Holding this 9900K/2080Ti until I can get 2x the GPU performance for £1000 or less without following a hundred different stock trackers. Same for my GF’s build, that’s staying with a 10400F/RTX 2060 KO unless the NZXT H1 they resides in catches fire.

I updated my mobo BIOS, and ofc my OC settings got wiped out
I thought I got everything back to where it should be, but I'm noticing that my OC of 5ghz isn't "holding". When I'm playing a game I'll see some cores drop down to 4.7ghz, others stay at 5ghz, and sometimes this causes noticeable hitches in game. I'm using an ASUS Maximus XI Extreme and I seem to recall I had this issue before, but I can't remember a potential setting that would make it run at that value at all times?
Anybody have an idea?

By Celcius Go To PostTurbo mode enabled? Power management plan on max performance?
Think I got it. I had MCE on something other than auto, and that seemed to fix it. I have the rest of the power options in bios set at max.
Depends on exactly what you need, but both Lightworks and hitfilm are good calls and I think the most used free ones.

About to make my journey back home. I need to ship my pc...
Seems like I need to either take the parts out or use expanding foam. Not looking forward to how much I'll have to spend on shipping...
