By Kibner Go To PostPoW is the most disgusting thing and is the main reason I hate it.It’s definitely bad shit, completely unsustainable.
By Zabojnik Go To PostMan, the content from the big PC-centric YTers has been … lacking. Between Kyle / Bitwit getting divorced, Paul's Hardware taking a semi-sabbatical and mostly posting QA videos, Jay going overboard with extreme overclocking I could not care less about … The drop in interesting content has been somewhat less severe with Hardware Unboxed, Gamers Nexus and Optimum Tech, but they're all feeling that 'rona depression.
I feel Hardware Canucks have improved over the last year. One channel that has been putting out some great content though is GGF Events. It’s pretty much all watercooling, but there’s some really fantastic camera work.
Another great channel is Bit Tech, although it’s almost 50/50 on whether it’s a PC channel or a CNC channel. Regardless, good quality content.
Derbauer, MajorHardware, and Designs by IFR (to a lesser extent) are all worth checking out too.
Yeah, I follow most if not all of the above, I feel like it's mostly the top dogs that have dropped the ball lately.
Finally updated my maximus xii hero bios to the latest non-beta bios instead of using the launch day bios. Now I can actually turn off all the lights on my motherboard when the system is off and can get into the bios by pressing delete on startup instead of having to press the button on the back to clear it.
Also fyi cpu-z 1.94 and 1.95 report cpu voltage incorrectly (too low). At first I thought I messed up a setting when I updated my bios lol. After reading about the issue on another forum, I reverted cpu-z back to 1.93 and my voltage is showing correctly again.

To the surprise of few, the PS5 (and likely XS1), the cpu is a stripped down Ryzen 2 and doesn't have a unified cache:
Also, the gpu appears to be RDNA1 based and has a ton of similarities to the 5700XT.

So how true is it that the crypto mining scene will or has already irreversibly fucked the consumer pc market?
Looks like you've mispelled Apple there friend.
And it is only temporarily. Chip foundries will eventually catch up with demand.

Crypto was in higher demand during the 10XX series lifetime. It just so happened that production could keep up during that time.
By inky Go To PostCrypto was in higher demand during the 10XX series lifetime. It just so happened that production could keep up during that time.Yup. There were fewer product launches competing for the same chip factories and also no pandemic driving demand for all consumer electronics even higher.
The biggest shock to the market in all this is that Intel’s are cheaper and more available than AMD’s.
If lower end cards come back into stock, 1050Tis and 1650Tis, and Nvidia pull through with new 2060 stock too. Most of the low to lower mid range of the market will be covered.
Proper mid range and up is absolutely fucked until supply can match demand. Which at the current rate, given foundries take years to get going, is a ways off.

So Nvidia are making crypto processors without display outputs and then throttling 3060 mining via the driver. I imagine it’s pointless to do it for everything out there because people with just roll back their drivers and/or take them to court. Sounds good, but still wasting a ton of resources playing the big money crypto game.
Founders Edition RRP was the play if you could get on it

Etherium 2.0 will hopefully help a bit with GPU shortages (assuming it ever launches).
My younger brother is looking for a cheap MS Office Key. Checked up on ebay but cheap keys they are not. Anywhere i can have a look that isn't completely sus?

seems like nvidia are doing more than just updating drivers to deter mining, hopefully it has an impact. the big mining companies use custom drivers anyway, so probably a tricky problem to solve.

Currys got some stock of the 3070 in but they aren't deliverying and nowhere in NI is open for Click and Collect. Probably for the best since my PSU is only 600w.

Got to finger my brother's Everest keyboard for half an hour the other day, he finally received it. This thing, in this exact configuration.
Definitely a step or two above my Ducky SF 65% in terms of build quality. Love the super soft magnetic wrist rest, although I have a feeling that material isn't gonna survive past the first year of use. Everything else feels super solid and chunky, as you would expect from a metal keeb.
The gadgets - numpad and media dock - get recognized and are ready to use immediately upon connection. Numpad on the left should honestly become a trend on full-size gaming keyboards, for those who want it. The wheel on the media dock feels smooth between your fingers and has lots of useful features, screen(s) is decent as well. The media buttons are exceedingly clicky and feel cheap compared to everything else.
The keycaps are trash, which you wouldn't expect from such an expensive keyboard, but at least it's something that can be easily replaced. The typing experience is satisfying, though not quite as premium-feeling as I expected. There's some residual pinging and hollowness that could be extinguished by adding some foam or even just o-rings.
Can't speak much for the software side, but according to my bro it's good enough and gets the job done.
All in all a good product, probably worth the money. Shame about the keycaps.
