Thanks m8.
Now I'm just deciding if I order the rest of my new pc now, or wait until the card has arrived.

Scan has an £1800 prebuilt that, in very small text, tells you it doesn't have a GPU, then the same prebuilt for £2000 with a 3080. I feel like I'm in the wild west

Assuming this is for gaming mainly, any other uses?
That feeling when it doesn't POST and you think 'here we go, faulty components' and you realise it goes into bios without the fan and you've probably applied the paste/pressure wrong.

@JesalR
Not a great deal of options currently it seems, the SCAN PC specs seems sketchy. OCUK are offering this, with some part adjustments it's a decent deal all things considered.
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk-gaming-katana-intel-comet-lake-i7-10700kf-geforce-rtx-3070-gaming-pc-fs-1ea-og.html#t=a;d1e2k1
Swap to these options:
Case: P400 Air
GPU: Gigabyte 3080 Eagle
SSD: WD SN550 1TB
Security Software: Not wanted
Keep the CPU and RAM as is with the 10700KF and 16Gb 3200mhz DDR4.
Total should be £1973.96.
Not bad considering it includes a Z490 board, a 700w Bronze PSU and a 240mm AIO. Though you'll be looking at recieving it after Christmas if that matters at all.
If you don't mind a small amount of tinkering. You can bring that down to £1863.97 by removing Win10 and it installing it yourself, then getting a cheap key from elsewhere.

Given supply constraints, and that I just got a PS5 and XSX, would it make sense to wait a bit in terms of price? I feel like every time I've looked at the GPUs specifically, they're running a lot higher than RRP.

Eh, it's really hard to say. If you have the time and patience to BYO, then you can definitely save a chunk of money by getting a FE 3080 when SCAN have them in once every blue moon for 3 seconds. They sell at the RRP of £650, CPUs on the AMD front may actually go up in price, hard to say with current gen Intel given that they tend to hold value quite well.
RAM might go up in price soon due to supply issues at Micron IIRC, think the same is true for SSDs, but I'm not 100%.
Alternatively, you could save by just stepping down a notch or two on the GPU. If you're playing at 4K then I'd stay with the 3080. 1440p, then I'd go with the 3070, the 3060Ti is still good for 1440p but will likely become more of a 1080p card with time.
If you want a 3070/3060Ti build, let me know and I'll see what's a decent offer.

Thanks for all the advice, I'll take a took at BYO using your suggestions

You guys have any recommendations for PSU's?
I'm getting a 10700K, 3070 and I'm thinking of taking a 750w PSU 80 rated.

I see a Seasonic PX 750 for the same as the Corsair I was planning to buy.
I'll switch it out.
Bought a Dell 38" ultrawide. It's making me nauseous and motion sickness playing games on it. Anyone else experience that too?
That, plus give it some time.
Never had that issue with my 34" ultrawide and I sit fairly close to it, however it's the first thing my brother complained about when he first tried gaming on it at my place.
Another reason I'm glad I wall-mounted mine. If I ever upgrade to a 38" I'll have to option of pushing it right up against the wall.

Hmm... 3d mark is on sale for $4.49 (85% off). Do you guys always just run the free version or do you think it's worth it to have the full version?
GTAV can look really impressive for such an old game. But I dont like this trend, of people calling their graphical mods/shader injections ray tracing.

Finally able to order the Lian Li UNI SL120s. I got four of them:
https://www.newegg.com/p/1YF-005G-00013?Item=9SIAFSTBGD1132
Been interested in these since they were revealed. They are very hard to find. This is the longest they've been in stock. I also need the 3 pack that comes with the controller that lets you hook up 16 of these fans. It was also available this morning, but I was too slow to get to it. The modularity of these fans and simplicity of the cables when hooking multiple fans together is very attractive, and not sure why nobody else has done it. Corsair is the worst about this. Happy to move away from their setup.
With these and the CableMod PSU cables on the way, I just need the 3 Pack+Controller combo mentioned above, and my vision for my new case/setup will be complete.
Starting to also get interested in a Ultrawide monitor for my setup. Using a 27UQ on on arm and a 23'' ASUS on the other. I could simplify that, and get a cleaner setup. Will be paying attention to CES for upcoming products.

By Smokey Go To PostFinally able to order the Lian Li UNI SL120s. I got four of them:I need to see some proper reviews of them to see how they fair in terms of noise and performance on a radiator. If they're good enough compared to Noctua's and Arctic's 120mm fans then I'd go for 2-4 of them for my current build.
