Can't speak from personal experience, but my co-sufferers from the waiting for a 3080 community seem to rate them quite highly.
No retailer is gotcha-proof in these times of extreme scarcity though.

https://www.cclonline.com a good computer parts site? They have a case i need that's not at the usual suspects
ASRock is making a m.2 GPU. It will have the performance of standard iGPU's, so definitely not aimed at gamers. But, still. It's interesting. https://www.techpowerup.com/275694/asrock-rack-unveils-m-2-slot-graphics-card

That's cool, but I'm sure I've seen a normal GPU hooked up to an M.2 slot before via an adapter cable and running 4x PCIe lanes. Some of the novelty is lost on me because of that.

Defeats the purpose of a low powered machine though.
2080Ti dropped off.
Pulled out my 1060 as the temp replacement. I forgot what model I had. I thought it was an ASUS Dual 1060, but it's actually a Strix model. 3 fans and all. Card is longer than the 2080ti it's replacing lol. On the plus side, my dusty secondary monitor can now run at 120hz again, the 1060 has a DVI output. I was using a DVI to DP adapter on the 2080ti, and for whatever reason it wouldn't allow the monitor to go above 60hz.

Even the specs are weird, why the need for a molex connector when it only draws 1.49 watts?
By HonestVapes Go To PostIt's about damn time you got some custom cables, Smokey.
The plus side yes but....

Pls pcpowerbro. I need a cable. I dont want to wait that long ;_;
You said Seasonic but what model?
There are some seasonic cables on ebay that looks like they ship next week but if its worth it to you to save a few days, i dont see why https://www.amazon.com/COMeap-Adapter-Seasonic-Supply-25-inch/dp/B07S623681/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=seasonic+8+pin&qid=1607557578&sr=8-2 wouldn't work.
While calling it a "vedio card" is sketchy, as long as we make sure the pin outs are correct all it is is just wire.. and the reviews do seem legitimate.

soooooooooooooooo
i have the cable setup in the 3rd example. i could use a second connector off one of the cables...but considering how power hungry the regular 3090s are, let alone the Strix OC variant....

If you have a 1 dedicated + 1 daisy chain then you are totally fine. Those cables will handle 288w watts easily (its rated 150w per connector) so you essentially have something rated for 288w + 150w + 75w (513 watts).
Maybe keep in that cablemod order but dont hesitate to hook that thing up.

Eh, the connectors are rated at 150W. But if you daisy chain, you still have the connector at the PSU side trying to pull in 300W, which may cause issues. I wouldn't risk it, tbh.

I haven't watch it in a while but I believe der8auer talks about some of that here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRVSGFjKf4E I believe they use more hot leads on the power supply side.
This is supposedly directly from Seasonic but i didnt see it on their site: https://i.redd.it/qfwh3kboeyl51.png
I just know that someone on the something awful forums used one daisy chain on their 3080 and the connector on the psu side melted. It wasn't a high end seasonic psu, though.
Most likely worst case scenario would be instability over any electrical fires breaking out in your PC. Keep it at stock or even undervolt it to be on safer side until you’ve got a third dedicated cable for it,
Undervolt anyway even, it’s not like you losing anything by keeping the same clockspeed at a lower power draw.

It wasn't a high end seasonic psu, though.Yeah, daisy chaining 2 connectors via a single cable isnt great, but GPU's that have 3 connectors support 1 dedicated + 1 daisy chain. GPU's will load balance and you won't be able to exceed the cable or power supply's rated wattage on either end.
That image is from Seasonic, It exists on their old FAQ here: https://web.archive.org/web/20170319114239/https://seasonic.com/faq/

I played Cyberpunk for about 2.5 hours. No issues. Card is an absolute unit. Never got above 68c with the standard Afterburner profile and default fan curve.
various different leakers have been quite confident in the 3080ti coming in jan, although it'll still be near impossible to get one
Did yall know that lower end Quadro's for the desktop are still on Pascal?
$450 for a 5GB GTX 1060 just so you can get "certified drivers".

By Kabro Go To Post10-bit output is still at a premium? smh.I think the studio drivers will do 10 bit on certain things now?
Here's a TLDR so i don't go on a huge rant:
OpenGL is a open source API that allows custom functions (DirectX does not) so if you have a function in a CAD program that passes on the redrawing of lines after a zoom to a GPU that might only be accelerated if you are using the Quadro driver path while others can be artificially slowed by the lack of Quadro drivers.
Siemens NX is the worst offender by far (Check out that 2080 Ti performance). This isn't extra performance because Quadros have some unlocked double precision performance or ECC VRAM (the highest end Quadro's do), It's simply because they are using a different driver. OEM's also like to spread a whole bunch of FUD about not wanting to use Geforce's because they are low quality and are poorly manufactured.
Companies that make the programs will also blame your Geforce even if it has nothing to do with a problem. "Oh i see you aren't on certified hardware, you will need to get on certified hardware for us to help diagnose this cloud uploading issue". PTC even demands specific hardware models + specific video card + specific driver version and It is absolutely insane.
Holy shit rtx supports 10bit?

there's a few for around $600 in my area so I think i can get a 2080ti off offerup sub $600.
but that 3060 ti really better?
when is it going to be widely available?

Make sure you verify it will add 10bit support to the applications you use. Photoshop was the only one i heard people making a big deal about when the Studio drivers dropped.
