HX1000i installed. Now hopefully I can get my hands on 3090 this Thursday. Between EVGA or Founders Edition, I think I'll just grab whichever I can get my hands on.
So, I'm fairly certain I'll be making a build at some point in the next year. Looking for something in the range of £1800. I'm assuming I can build something very solid with that, including a 3080?

Because our retailers have gotten fucked by Nvidia somewhat, and they're passing the fucking on to us, with a hint of price gouging on top.
Nvidia still have the FE listed at £650 on their own site though. Just a matter of when it becomes obtainable. It's the route I would go if I were to upgrade.

I'm not planning on the purchase this year, but I assume that means when stock levels return to normal £650 should be an achievable price for the GPU? Founder Edition though makes me think that card won't be available much longer?

I imagine there will be cards available for £700 and under though.
I don't know about the FE, I believe in the past the FE was for a limited time and succeeded by a true reference model, but I don't recall that being the case with the 20 series, nor do I think Nvidia would put all that effort into the custom PCB for the FE with the cooler tailored to it to just discontinue it within 3-6 months.
Tl;dr: I think you'll be good.
There's a bunch of 3080 cards available on a local dealer here.
INNO3D ones for 799€ - 849€.
Sounds like a ripoff though.

Yeah, I'm not paying more than 750€ for a 3080. If it takes 6 months, then so be it. Fuck all this price gouging.
Just cleaned the Steelseries mousepad I’ve had since 2018 properly for the first time and the soapy water running off it was brown 💀

Don't worry, this is a safe space. There's no kink 💩shaming here.

I chuck mine in the washing machine every now and against. Please do the same
I was wiping it down like every month or so with dettol spray or wet wipes, clearly wasn’t a deep enough clean tho.
I keep on top of my keyboard at least. Brush that down weekly to keep my keycaps clean.

Will the 3080 or 3090 cut it for that? Not really looking into 8k at this point
By FootbalIFan Go To PostI plan to 4k + hdr + 145hz+ game at the end of next yearNot at max settings, no. They should give you a solid 60-100 fps in most titles, though.

By FootbalIFan Go To PostI plan to 4k + hdr + 145hz+ game at the end of next yearIt’ll vary massively from one game to the next. For example, Flight Sim or the Crysis Remaster is not even gonna run at 60FPS when maxed out with the 3080, but a game like Doom Eternal runs in excess of 100FPS.

If you’re happy to occasionally knock settings down, then yeah for the most part I imagine you’ll be looking at a fairly consistent 100-144FPS experience with a 3080. With some outlier titles in the 60-80fps range.
Seems like a long shot to get a 3080, so guess I will hold off on cybercummy for a bit. Hopefully gives them time to fix bugs as well then.
Glorious PC Gaming Race update their extremely popular Model O gaming mouse with a new wireless version. The Model O Wireless incorporates the best features of its predecessor but adds the flexiblity associated with wireless mice. However, the Model O Wireless avoids any lag issues thanks to Glorious's new proprietary BAMF sensor. This has a DPI of 19,000 as well as support for 400 IPS. Also despite the integration of a long-life battery - that lasts up to 71 hours - the Model O Wireless remains notably lightweight with a total weight of 69g.
From the OCUK product page. Coming in at £82.
Not bad at all.

I need a new KB. I’m never buying Logitech shit again. Mouse failed on me after a year or two, now my keyboard is trash. Some keys either don’t register or register twice.

There it is -- 10% - 15% and lol at the apology
For 4K gaming, the GeForce RTX 3090 is about 10-15% faster on average than the GeForce RTX 3080, and up to 50% faster than the TITAN RTX.
Since we built GeForce RTX 3090 for a unique group of users, like the TITAN RTX before it, we want to apologize upfront that this will be in limited supply on launch day. We know this is frustrating, and we’re working with our partners to increase the supply in the weeks to come.

10-15% over the 3080.
So 30-55% over a 2080Ti, roughly?
It’s a good performance uplift, no doubt about it. For the price though? Eh, I’m not going Slaent Elite this year.

Oof, it will be even harder to get than the 3080.
Now I'm wondering if I'll be able to get my hands on one before I get my PS5 in November.
I was expecting more than 10-15% perf over the 3080 but I'll take what I can get.

it'll be a beast for professionals, but even by titan standards that performance increase seems low...
gamers shouldn't really be considering it, especially with the 20gb 3080 coming soon

Weren't 3090 reviews supposed to go up today? Did that get changed?
Too bad they don't let us just place a preorder and then they can just charge us and ship it once it's actually available... that way we're not all hammering the websites.
