I think I'm going to take a week off of work once I can get all of the parts in for my new PC and media center builds. Haven't had really any time off since New Years and might as well spend it putting shit together and getting all the kinks worked out.
Also, I went to Lian-Li's website and they made a post that the O11D Mini is supposed to come out at the end of October. I wonder if this graphic is still accurate:
If so, it looks like I will only have two ugly Noctua fans installed and can use those SL120 Unifans for the 360 rad.

Wait, Linus thought 2x performance was 2x FPS across the board for every single game, and not path tracing specific benchmarks and compute performance? We knew the real gains would be 30-75% since DF did their benchmarks from the reveal.

The difference at 1440p there between the 3900XT and 10900K to me says that you should disregard any benchmarks using a Ryzen 3 test system for the 3080. It's artificially limiting the performance uplift from the previous gen cards to the 3080 by introducing a CPU bottleneck.

Can't wait for Ryzen 4000 first tho, see how those compare to Intel's latest offering. If they can match or beat the 10900k in high-end gaming, I might just go for it, otherwise we wait for Rocket.
Linus is fine.
They must have had hardly any stock because it never even displayed a buy button for me
And weirdly the page didn’t even slow or go down at all

I also don't really notice higher than ~100 fps, anyway, and the Ryzen chips can give me that much, at least.
Not surprised to see Zotac at the bottom. My card runs hot AF at idle with fan stop. Every MSI card I've bought has died, so I don't trust them. Every single one. I imagine we get the worst chips in these regions or something.
My preference is always ASUS or EVGA but that means dealing with imports. Zotac is the only one that bothers with local warranty (5 years) and regional presence,. that's why I went for a Zotac 1070 but their coolers always have a budget feel.

MSI done perfect for me in the past across a number of cards. Asus are where I would probably have gone this time around, but the size of these third party cards is ridiculous so have been eyeing up the FE. Today was a joke though.
I just ordered an Asus laptop and already regret it, remembering how fucking terrible their customer support is.
New mousepad from Artisan came in:
It is a size smaller than my old one:
I also got it in "Soft" softness instead of "Mid". They really changed how they sewed the edges. It is that same style on both sides. The non-slip pad at the bottom is also different (and better) from the last one I had.
I will still need to use it in games, but I think it will work out great. I wanted a larger size, but they were sold out. I don't see it being a real problem, though, because I never really used the entire width of my old mousepad, anyway. It was always too much of a stretch for me.

High sensitivity Scum
Evga have a reputation for good support, and was the one time I needed it. Could easily change though I guess
By diehard Go To Postdont all mainstream PC brands all have terrible support unless you pay for some premium option?

Cancel that shit, babe. I’ve had nothing but a shite experience with my gf’s Asus laptop.
I'm getting nervous about my chances of grabbing a 3090 next week.
I guess I should just be glad I was able to preorder a PS5.

UK retailers continue to be pricing cunts. OCUK, SCAN, Ebuyer, Novatech, etc. are all marking up the pre-order prices for the basic 3080s.
Same thing that happened to the 20xx series will happen with the 30xx
I expect them all to be 200 $ above MSRP.

Maybe if cunts like Dell would start using Ryzen more. But I want my ryzen 4800/4900, 32gb of ram and a none 1080p screen, without it being heavy as fuck to carry around, and I am not really able to wait more than a week until I do need it.
I feel like people with laptops should be carrying an * next to their name, like a mark of shame.
I'm pretty sure someone thought of something similar some 80 years ago tho, so maybe not.

3080 tested with a 7700k and a 10900k.
I'm going to upgrade because I don't want to be 4-core shamed no more, but yeah ... not what you would call a necessary upgrade for gaming, lel.

I mean, obviously value is way worse than a desktop, and I am not a huge fan of laptops in general. But still better than nothing, which would be the case when:
1. I'm at work and want to play FM/Fall Guys
2. When in the hospital (going 3 to 5 days in two weeks... and with a transplant coming....)
I'm just goofing, if you feel like you're going to get some decent use out of it, then by all means. I only ever owned one laptop and it was such a subpar experience that it put me off portables for the rest of my life. Mostly I just don't have a need for a portable PC.
What about the new Tiger Lake based stuff tho?

My company just offered a £3000 loan per employee to build a personal gaming PC, since our gaming division wants people to help playtest. If the loan is taken pre-tax as it's a work expense, I might be interested in diving in.

Not so fast. Jesal how do you feel about Swarovski covered RAM?
I've got a nice 1080ti with your name on it, inky-chan. Equipped with a custom cooler, no extra charge.
