By Kawhic Go To PostStart screaming now mate. If you watch the marketing it's pretty clear what ends up happening. (I haven't read any spoilers but i'm very confident).Yeah, it's pretty blatant at this point.
By reilo Go To PostI bet Abrams loves Ewoks unironically

How do the LOTR films hold up?
Because I fell asleep when I saw Fellowship in 2001 but I as also like 12

even the little prequel robots are cuter than Ewoks
Jawas could barely fight off one Mando
Ewoks beat a superior military with pure tactics

The Disney CEO added that the filmmaker's comments were "nasty" and “not fair to the people who are making the movies."Yo, man, Marvel literally makes the action scenes ahead of time and they let somebody shoot the other stuff later. It's movie by factory.
The nerds already won. They hold the keys to the kingdom now, too. I don't know why they are so angry about this.
By reilo Go To PostThe nerds already won. They hold the keys to the kingdom now, too. I don't know why they are so angry about this.Because they desperately want people to know Marvel movies are "real movies," which is why something like Winter Soldier is championed as being a "spy thriller." (Because of the one scene of Captain America in the mall, I guess.) It's art, you see, just like Scorsese.

Incendies -> Prisoners -> Enemy -> Sicario -> Arrival -> Blade Runner 2049 is a hell of a run for a single decade.
Man, Irishman is great. It still caught me off guard eventhough it telegraphed it perfectly. End of an era type of movie.
that looked really silly, and there's no point in even having that scene in there.
having the beating happen off-screen while you only see his daughter's face/reaction would've been so much better.

Rewatching 12 Angry Men
An all-time classic for sure
Still so surprising that this was Lumet's first film

By bud Go To Postthat looked really silly, and there's no point in even having that scene in there. The movie did little with it's running time. Like unless you know the history of the gentle don and Hoffa it really doesn't explain much but instead of fleshing out Frank and Hoffa's friendship or other important details they gave Hoffa's your late running gag why too much burn. Good movie but the mixture of having old men looking old af pretending to be young and having the movie skimming important elements means it never reaches the heights of Goodfellas or Wolf of Wallstreet.

I don’t agree Frank and Hoffa’s friendship wasn’t fleshed out. The your late gag worked on a number of levels:
1) it shows Hoffa’s impatience
2) it shows him clashing with Tony Pro
3) it sets up conflict with the mov
4) Frank’s efforts to pacify and contain him were in vain
5) Frank’s loyalties were literally torn in that meeting between supporting his friend and supporting Russell’s agenda
6) it sets up Hoffa’s acceptance of the lateness later on when he sees Frank in the back of Chuck’s car; this is the one man he won’t be upset at when he’s late
And there’s plenty of scenes of Frank and Jimmy sitting about in jammies chilling to further emphasise their friendship

They basically met and were having sleep overs and vacationing together. It wasn't really fleshed out at all how they became tight it just they were. I mean if you know they were you just fill in the blanks but if you don't it feels cheap.... even his relationship with his daughter kind of feels the same way.
As for the lateness gag still way too screentime for it, also if their friendship was the key to placate him over his tardy fetish we needed more than an 80s movie montage to establish that

Supposedly it only goes up on Wednesday morning. Already have my tickets for Thursday, it's one of the very few movies that opens here at the same time as the rest of the world.
