I’m not 100% sure, but I question whether my hippy moron in-laws vaccinated my niece and nephew. I know they were “concerned” at the time and doing “research”. They send the kids to private schools, but I can’t tell if those are just hippy private schools that only have wood toys or if they’re doing it because public schools aren’t an option.
Seems like just a bad twitter headline. Article made it seem like the only people in danger are those too young for the vaccine or too old with weakened immune systems
By blackace Go To Postwait, vaccinated kids catching it too?

Also I've been seeing shit about how those of us born before 89 might need another one.
Wait what? My doc hasn’t said anything
By Fenderputty Go To PostWait what? My doc hasn’t said anything
That doesn’t necessarily mean everyone born before 1989 should immediately rush out and get vaccinated with MMR again. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention only recommends, for instance, that people who were vaccinated between 1963 to 1967 with a killed virus vaccine get a shot of the current MMR vaccine, since that older version wasn’t very effective. The CDC also recommends that adults who are somehow still unvaccinated get at least one shot’s worth of protection.https://gizmodo.com/people-born-before-1989-may-need-another-measles-vaccin-1834304231
That said, we do know that our vaccine-provided immunity to measles can wane years or decades later, even in people who have gotten two shots. And interestingly enough, research has also shown that growing outbreaks of mumps in young people may be tied to waning immunity at a much faster rate from the MMR vaccine, which has led to calls by some scientists for a routine third booster shot at age 18. Meanwhile, the CDC says public health officials can recommend a third booster for people at increased risk of mumps, such as those living near a current outbreak.
But what if you live in an area that’s currently experiencing a measles outbreak? From what we know, there’s little added benefit to getting a third MMR shot for measles alone. But if you’ve had only one MMR shot (or don’t know your vaccination history), there’s no real harm in going to the doctor and asking them about getting the vaccine, especially if you’re living in one of the five states (California, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Washington) where an outbreak is currently raging.
Indeed, at least on Twitter, vaccinated people, including doctors, have reported going to their physician to get their antibody levels tested, and in some cases getting a booster if those levels are particularly low.
Most of us are probably okay but they've said for years a bunch of vaccinations last for decades longer than they tend to. With herd immunity on the wane it's better to just inquire with your doc than not.

Noted and thank you
By Random Ass Username Go To PostI think it more likely means older immunocompromised individuals. Vaccines won't do much if you're fucked up due to HIV or chemo/radiation or age. Also I've been seeing shit about how those of us born before 89 might need another one.Ahhhhh fuck....
By Laboured Go To Post"a single case can easily spread — not only to those who are not vaccinated, but also to infants who cannot yet receive immunization and to elderly patients with suppressed immune systems."I think I've come up with a plan to take care of the boomers.
Can we just have a good President again please my god

This is actually really fucked up and a joke but whatever
Also Warren has me back on board with her bill regarding military housing. I wish she could just straight up run for Pelosi or Schumer's position instead of campaigning for president...

No joke dude. They tossed a $100 Christmas gift I gave my nephew because it was plastic. Didn't even bother to tell the family that their kids can only use wood toys. No TV in the house. Vegan. They have their 4 year old a meditation pad and they send them to these hippy ass alternate learning type private schools (where they got the wood toy thing IIRC). Voted Jill Stein. I would not put it past them to be quiet anti-vaxers cause they know the family don't pull punches for shit like this. They actively avoid sending their kids to the doctor and prefer natural medications if need be. My brother in law let one of his sinus infections go for so long he ended up in the hospital because they prefer natural medication. They're nice people but my wife and I have grown more distant with them over the years because they're insane.
That kid is gonna have stunted growth and brain development. One of those people that think they are smarter than they actually are.
Both college educated one with a masters in energy modeling. I think they just drank too much of the green lifestyle koolaid

If you get a heads up they're not getting their children proper medical attention call please.
On the whole level it sounds like it's a typical super bizarre "we did our research and this is what the selective bias of scientific studies we found that support our beliefs say" dichotomy where they distrust the actual science and think they are smarter than the doctors whose entire livelihood based in science is telling them the opposite.
But Big Pharma just wants to make money and are fooling us by telling us that the natural medicine isn't good enough.

They will take them, but it's always a last option and never the first. They'll try some homeopathic hippy shit before going. Just think of a hippy stereotype and they'll likely be that. They encourage a lack of shoes and shit lol ... just weird people. All of this together combined with their silence regarding anti-vax and I have my worries.

This. They apply this to their veganism as well. No GMO's. Only organic. Hates the meat industry but won't support generically engineered meat etc etc.
By Kibner Go To PostNo shoes except when necessary is cool and good, imo. Fuck shoes.

Sandals count as shoes, too. *harumph*
I always wonder if vegans understand where all the nitrogen to grow their vegetables and fruits come from. Also aren't most of veggies and fruits we eat been genetically modified through selective breeding.
