By n8 dogg Go To PostEh. Too much emphasis on the presidency anyway. Go national. Win state seats. Win districts. Trump can’t do anything if you control everything else. He’s fucked the second he’s out of office.
Senate is MAYBE POSSIBLEY BUT NOT LIKELY in 2020 with better odds in 2022 before we get wrecked again in 2024. And if this presidency has shown us anything, it's that the position carries a lot of power. It's going to take years to change what he's done to the courts and to the environment via executive order.
By Fenderputty Go To PostIf they try for impeachment now, without the un-redacted report and Mueller testimony, they will be inviting disaster in 2020. If this is a motivation game, there's no better way to motivate the right than to try and impeach their boy over shit they all think is a non starter. So it would be months before they even have the ammo they should have to try and impeach. Nadler will have to go to court to get the unredacted report.
So it's a matter of electoral strategy weighed against moral obligation to fulfill constitutional duties. I personally think they should try and impeach, but I don't really have an issue with voting his as out and focusing on that.
He's not in any legal or political jeopardy with this congressional make up and Barr as his stooge. If he's voted out, he still faces the SDNY shit and the EDVA shit among state charges in NY.
I mean, it's not like Barr didn't already shift significantly the public opinion about this stuff. And certain independents and "unmotivated" left leaning individuals might, I don't know, become ambivalent if they took that message and the proceeding inaction of the democrats at face value. Particularly if they completely avoided talking about it moving forward in order to chase a "unified message completely about the issues."
Meanwhile Trump will surely not let his base forget it. "They didn't even try to impeach me. Either they know there's no collusion, no obstruction, or they are cowards and losers. Pick one." The one thing you can be sure he's not going to do: have a healthy conversation about the wage gap or medicare for all.
The entire idea of how to best win this election is such a toss up, that doing anything other than fulfilling your moral obligation is dumb. People keep saying "if Hillary would have jusssst focused on the issues...". Bullshit. If blowing the doors wide open and making sure every American hears the evidence these documents presents for months doesn't result in an electoral victory for dems in 2020, there's just no way that being silent about it and just "talking about the issues" results in a winner.
I look forward to 6 more years of Trump and the Republicans controlling the Senate because why would anyone support a party of pussies whose leader will throw people under the bus, drive over them, reverse over them, then drive back over them again.

You can do this without impeachment and polling has shown that Barr's initial finding absolving trump of "collusion and obstruction" didn't move the needle at all on his approval / disapproval ratings.
I don't disagree with you though, nobody has a clue what strat will beat him in 2020. It's all a guess and maybe playing it safe won't be the smart move in the end.
And like I said ... I would prefer they at least try. I want hope in a functional system.
First step EITHER WAY though .... subpoena the full report and let Mueller testify before the house.

Yes, you take the Senate, you cut off Trump's judicial fuckery at the knees.
Theoretically. If the Democrats keep together.

There is no reality in which Trump holds the POTUS but loses the Senate.
By DY_nasty Go To PostMeanwhile, Pelosi spent the last few weeks shitting on the blue waves most recognizable people
Women won the blue wave across multiple spectrums of ideology on the left. It wasn't just the progressives. Which is why Sienma won among other's in redder districts and states. Spangberger to name another. To be clear, I wish Pelosi was more supportive of Omar and AOC, but the blue wave was not just a progressive wave at all.

“I wish Pelosi was more supportive of Omar and AOC” was what I said. I just don’t think her lack of spine here will affect the overall power women at large had in 2018 coming into 2020. Or at least I hope it won’t.
Impeachment is the one surefire way to guarantee your own people come out and vote for you.
This pre-occupation with what the other side is going to do and letting that dictate what you do is such cowardice

House should Impeach him. Follow the obligations of American law. Will make a difference historically, if not in terms of the immediate elections.

This is the best argument for impeachment IMO

This is assuming the democratic party, one of the two political parties in this country, is somehow powerless in shaping public opinion.
Tremendous dereliction of duty.
By Smoke Dogg Go To PostAnd yet, still the first real homie out here to go on enemy territory and defend his positions. It is Fox News that got marked. The homie to who? lol
And he really was not the first to walk into the den, Obama already did that with Bill O'Reily...
Clinton did too, and they were mistakes then just like it was a mistake now

You and I both know that Dem's are WAAAAAAAAAY worse at shaping public opinion when compared to the GOP and their lock step media machine. Do you trust them to sway public opinion? In this regard I'll echo DY. Dems ain't shit.
It's what happens when you let geriatric boomers lead for so long. They have no teeth they comfy as fuck.
I actually voted for AOC. Best fucking vote ever. I want to see more people like her run for office.

If they don’t do this they’re definitely going to lose.
Two bad outcomes but one carries infinitely greater implications for the republic than the other
Mayor Pete climbing .... wonder if he could be tbat politician nobody saw coming. Would prefer him over Biden or Bernie tbh.
I like Warren the best regarding policy ideas, but she’s not gonna win.
I'm gonna fucking hate pulling the lever for Biden, but at least we might get a centrist SCOTUS seat or two rather than another rapist lunatic. I really like Buttigieg's proposals for revamping the judicial branch BTW.

Somehow the Dems are in more disarray than the White House
I guess they’re having a meeting now and will get back on Monday with a solid message lmao

Get impeachment proceedings, and work to bolster the morale of your voters that you want to get things done.
Instead they're wishy washy about it and people could just get demoralised because their leaders seems helpless anyway.

An Indian voter says he chopped off his index finger after realising he had voted for the "wrong" political party.
Pawan Kumar says he accidentally ended up voting for the governing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in a video that has gone viral.
He wanted to vote for a regional party - but was confused by the many symbols on the voting machine.
Every voter's index finger is marked with indelible ink after they cast their ballot.
He cast his vote on Thursday in Bulandshahr in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. This was the second phase of polling in the Indian general election.
"I wanted to vote for the elephant, but I voted for the flower by mistake," Mr Kumar can be heard saying in the video.

I guess we're supposed to be good with his creepy ass, because Pelosi said so? After MeToo? After how hard they went at everyone for even thinking about crossing the line (as they should have)?
I'm sleep. 🚮
Can't wait for Trump to get his battle rap on and bring power points of Biden's creepy ass to the debate. That and bar him to death over the three strikes law that he wrote. He already killed him on twitter.

Free Smoke for them, tbh. I'm not even gonna pretend that history can't and won't repeat itself.
Ehh ... the Mueller report isn't playing well for him, regardless of the soft takes. He went from accepting the Mueller report as an exoneration to going right back into attack mode claiming dem lies etc etc.
I do not like Biden, and especially for reasons Eldritch explained. As I noted earlier, the 2018 wave was largely about the female vote. Creepy Biden seems like a great way to ruin that enthusiasm.
I'm not really sure anyone is suited to debate Trump. He's a bombastic liar and these things aren't graded on substance and adherence to logical principals. His followers even worse.
