We definitely got better. We're just hobbled by injuries right now. Arguably our four best defenders are hurt right now (Ibaka, KD, Collison, Roberson) so it isn't surprising that we can't stop anyone. Also, the Spurs are playing great. No shame in losing to them, and even Pop said it wasn't a fair fight. 

If you don't think that going from Perk and Reggie to Kanter and Augustin isn't an upgrade then I don't know what to tell you. 

reggie is far better than augustine mang....... wtf dongo? reggie jackson is better than augustine miles better...... kanter is average.......... so for me reggie> augustine kanter>perkings......

Reggie had one foot out the door and we got a suitable replacement for him, plus a center with all-star potential in exchange for Kendrick Perkins. 

Plus KD and DJ were college roommates and we'll probably be able to re-sign him much more cheaply than we could have Reggie.

Celtics have a lot of good not great guys, which means they'll have to get some big FA signings to really make noise. Nobody they've signed has shown stars of being an all-star. Sullinger is their best draft pick along with Olynyk and those guys can't defend well enough alongside each other. Bradley and Smart are kind of a weird backcourt pairing. Turner is...well, Turner. James Young is a nice prospect.

Yeah, he helped but he definitely wasn't fully healthy. 

We probably wouldn't have won the series anyway but we had no chance without our main 3 guys playing like themselves.

He's putting up 20 and 10s consistently in OKC and he's 22. That's the definition of all-star potential. 

Not that it necessarily means he'll be truly great, but bigs who put up numbers like that get recognition.

I'm not in love with him. He does some good things and some bad things. 

But it's silly to pretend that a guy putting up these kinds of numbers at his age (on good efficiency, too) doesn't have the potential to make the all-star game. 

That's literally all I'm arguing. Keep in mind that we got this dude for Kendrick Perkins. 

The trade wasn't the problem, rushing KD back was. They let him stay out an extra month and a half. Him and Russ are probably winning most their games right now. 

Gondo you have excuses for not chipping as far as the players go. It's not KD's or YNB's fault. But it sure as hell is managements. Bad health management, bad trades, refusal to upgrade the coaching. You can be a fanboy and ignore/rationalize this stuff all you want. But no one outside of OKC sees anything other than piss poor execution in these areas these last few years.
