By DominicanPower Go To PostIf The Wolves don't take Towns, they need to be contracted ASAP.I feel pretty good saying they're going to take Towns. I think the process is bad (they don't know that he's the best player, but they're sure he's the best fit), but I think this is where we are in two weeks.
Depending on what happens at power forward, they have the potential to be very good defensively between Towns, Wiggins and Rubio. They can actually hide Kevin Martin if they have other good perimeter defenders and a guy that can protect the rim.

Sacramento Kings GM Pete D'Alessandro has accepted a high-ranking front office job with Josh Kroenke in Denver, league sources tell Yahoo.
Malone suddenly lost interest in the job.
The crush between Jahlil Okafor and Los Angeles is a full on love affair now … 'cause sources within the Lakers organization tell TMZ Sports Jahlil MURDERED his private workout with the team today. If this isn't a bait to persuade Flip to choose Okafor, i dont know what is.
We spoke with a high ranking source in the Lakers organization who tells us the team put Jahlil through an up close and personal workout this morning – just like they did with Kobe back in '96 – and the 19-year-old was nothing short of spectacular.
"Just off what we saw out of today’s workouts, Jahlil has the potential to not just be one of the best big men in the league but one of the best to put on a Lakers jersey."
In fact … we're told that the team is so enamored with Okafor that they plan to have reps spend the entire day with him … culminating with a wine and dine sesh at a fancy L.A. restaurant later tonight.
That number 2 pick is looking like a wide open slam dunk … unless of course you're Marreese Speights.

"The Kings were 11-13 when Malone was fired, but 2-7 without All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins, who was out because of viral meningitis. After the team’s uninspired play for interim coach Tyrone Corbin, Ranadive insisted D’Alessandro hire George Karl.
That became the source of more problems because, according to multiple sources, D’Alessandro had told Cousins he didn’t want to hire Karl, who had been fired by Denver in 2013. But when Ranadive insisted on Karl’s hiring, reports surfaced that talks were stalled because Cousins and his agents did not want Karl as coach. The reports angered Cousins, who was a staunch supporter of Malone, who was fired against Cousins’ wishes.
D’Alessandro also was the reason former director of player personnel Shareef Abdur-Rahim left the team before this past season.
Abdur-Rahim disagreed with D’Alessandro’s decision to draft Nik Stauskas last year and expressed his belief guard Elfrid Payton would be a better fit for the Kings. According to multiple sources, Abdur-Rahim’s disagreement angered D’Alessandro, who then barred Abdur-Rahim from attending the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, even though assembling the summer-league team was part of Abdur-Rahim’s responsibilities.
Ranadive urged D’Alessandro to make amends with Abdur-Rahim, sources said, but Abdur-Rahim elected not to return to the team."

By etiolation Go To Posthttp://www.sacbee.com/sports/nba/sacramento-kings/kings-blog/article23669575.html#storylink=cpyI'm sure D’Alessandro had a lot to do with the fuckery, but this really reads like Vivek trying to make himself look as good as possible while making Pete the scapegoat.
all the dirt coming out now
I mean, don't we have Vivek on video demanding that they draft Stauskas? Yet here he makes it sound like it was all 100% D’Alessandro.
This is corporate politics.
Oh, I am sure Vivek was pro-Stauskas all the way. Renadive isn't clean on this. Ultumately, he has final say on a lot of decisions. This article isn't saying the pick was 100% PDA. It's saying that PDA ran Shareef out for being against the pick.
PDA has been working the media . The long podcast I linked days back was about that. You can see it with how Woj got to break the news that PDA was going to Denver, then followed that by saying Renadive ordered the Malone firing. Every other news source that is actually local refutes that. So PDA lets Woj break the news in exchange for publishing PDA's spin.

Sounds like a complete clusterfuck.
Well hopefully things will calm down now and maybe Vivek has learned something from this.

Apparently, Jones’ workout for the Rockets went quite well last Thursday but was cut short with a back injury.http://houseofhouston.com/2015/06/10/report-houston-rockets-high-on-drafting-duke-g-tyus-jones-at-18/
His next scheduled workout was to be with the T-Wolves but has been tabled.
Having gone through Canaan and Johnson, I'm a bit put off by guards who lack size, but I suppose those dudes were SGs in PG bodies. In Morey I trust.

Looney, Harrell, Portis, Vaughn, Grant are some of the known names the Wiz are looking at.
Portis is great, but fuck why would anyone waste any time with a guy like Harrell? Fuck, go get a Thomas Robinson for cheap and try to coach him up or something. There are a ton of those guys that can be had for pennies in the league.
I'm torn on Looney because he probably projects to being a rich mans Draymond at his ceiling but fuck--I want a fucking pick with some ball skills. Someone that can just put the ball on the ground and create.
Tyus pls

I actually like Looney. I think he's got more game than like a Kenneth Faried and if he can work on his offense, he can be pretty good. He's already got good rebounding and defensive instincts.
By Red Blaster Go To Posti shat on skiles hire at first but upon realizing thibs is gonna sit it out for the year it's not so bad. im a fan of the rodeo philosophy–three seasons of abject garbage basketball is in no way preferable to trying hard and winning 40 games.Winning is a lot more fun than losing, even if you think it's all building to some higher goal. Winning the lottery this year was a huge relief because I seriously don't want to think about tanking anymore. The difference between coming away with Towns versus like Porzingis or Cauley-Stein means that they'll actually be trying hard to win games next year and that's radical.
By HasphatsAnts Go To PostTyus Jones would be an awesome pick for a team with holes at backup PG.
we should be trading up a couple of slots with the Bucks for the chance to grab him, the kid shot 90% from FT off awesome sample size and shows brilliant command of PNR basketball, like, what the fuck are we doing looking at a fucking ogre motherfucker like harrell for?
By rodeoclown Go To PostI actually like Looney. I think he's got more game than like a Kenneth Faried and if he can work on his offense, he can be pretty good. He's already got good rebounding and defensive instincts..
I don't necessarily disagree, but just for us, no. I want no part of him. Singleton, Book, Porter, Vesely...for years we've been drafting long pretty good at everything master of none guys. You have to get guys who have modern skills sometimes.
By knux-future Go To Postwe tanking until the end of time so i will have to live through Rodeo and BlasterI really hope they just take Russell. Don't overthink it and take Porzingis because he's getting weird, misguided Dirk comps. Then they can actually start to build something, win some next year and still have a decent lottery pick next summer plus whatever they do with Saric's rights.
I'm just really ready for the Wolves to not be actively throwing entire seasons away. I'm expecting Towns to be splitting time with Pekovic (assuming he can play...) for most of the year while he works through problems young bigs have like fouling and staying on the floor, but they'll be good enough to not make me think about Ben Simmons. That's a step up. Towns/Wiggins/Rubio with Martin, Shabazz as sixth man, Pekovic as a backup, that could be, like, almost competent.
If Morey is high on Jones over Grant (like me), then the Wiz would be wise to make a trade with the Bucks to jump in front of them, assuming the Bucks don't believe it would hurt their draft position.
I really hope Bobby Portis goes to Boston so he can already be getting 30 mpg right out of the gate. Kid is going to be some special if he gets opportunities and floor time. He'll go somewhere 15-20 but teams will look back and regret not taking him 10-15.

By Dark PhaZe Go To PostyoAsik trade, right? I think it's really kind of astounding that a small market team like New Orleans has a GM that has shown a total disregard for the value of first round picks. Those are the life blood of a team like that. Young guys on cheap contracts are much better value than paying Tyreke Evans.

They haven't kept their lottery pick since they drafted Anthony Davis. I get they want to be in "win now" mode because they think it'll be their best chance to keep AD, but when those moves include paying Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans $26M/yr to put up inefficient numbers and not play defense is probably not the way you want to go about it. Jrue Holiday playing only half the games the last couple of seasons has been unfortunate. There's really not much they can do at this point. They're kinda boned with guaranteed contracts for another couple of seasons but luckily they'll probably have AD at least until 2019 so not all is lost.
