By Moris Go To PostIf Bosh can ever be what he used to be it would be a really good passing squad, it'd also take the burden off Wade to play 60 games a season cause Russ can probably contribute right away
Bosh will be fine. They caught the clots early. expected to have a full recovery.
By Moris Go To Post A lot of scouts said Mudiay's stronger than he is fast but Russ is supposedly negatively athletic.
His game isn't based on his athleticism though. So for teams that prefer smarter players than atheletic ones I think he would be drafted ahead of mudiay.
Rubio ankle surgery. Sucks.
Edit: went back to neogaf to see people's reaction to Kobe's Achilles tear that night. Sooo many shitty human beings, so many.
Miami age - you were classy.

Greg Monroe denied the report by Frank Isola of the New York Daily News that stated his move to the Knicks this offseason is virtually a "done deal."
"You write it's a done deal, there must be another Greg Monroe around here that I don't know about, because I haven't agreed to anything," said Monroe. "This stuff right here, it's just unfortunate that we have to talk about it. I know we have to. But I talk to my agent every day, and I know for sure, I'm 100-percent, 1,000-percent confident, that he hasn't done anything. If they [the Knicks] have interest, maybe they might have commented on that. But I haven't even gotten to that place yet."
Hey Isola, shut the fuck up.
Just shut up.
Tired of your punkass.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Posti believed in LaVine
rodeo pls listen to me....one day you'll realize ricky and pek need to go
Dude, Rubio is the team's best player. It's not his fault. Replacing Rubio with LaVine, who provides none of the same defense or ability to enable the offense, that leads to 16 win seasons.
Even with Zach LaVine going off this month, he's a -14.4! That's so awful! Literally the only LaVine argument I'd be willing to listen to is that maybe he could play with Ricky. And even then, I'd rather play Muhammad over him.
Rubio might be injury prone. What's going on with his ankle?
Lavine is gonna be good. Either for the wolves or elsewhere(in the NBA)

He didn't just sprain it back in November, he did serious ligament damage and they were needlessly cagey the entire recovery process. When he came back, the pain he was experiencing lingered, so Rubio has to get it cleaned out now.
I don't think he's injury prone. He's not Kevin Martin, who has constant nagging things. An ACL tear in 2012 and his ankle this year are the only things he's missed time for.
RT @johnschuhman: With the Hawks' loss yesterday, no East team will win as many games as the Knicks could win next season if they really want to.
.
Pretty sure there are 25 players projected to be "Mid to late 1st Round".
Draft analysis is such a mess.
@Schultz_Report
Stanley Johnson apparently talking to Damion Lee - he wants to come back and go all-in w/Sean Miller. Believes he can be a top 3 pick.
Everyone dodges a bullet if true.

I never like when people make that argument. "Hey, look at this other guy who was also bad and turned it around!"
Sure, it's possible but it isn't common when it comes to certain skills.

Yeah, and Wiggins improved across the board in ways that are just flatout rare.
By DY_nasty Go To PostYeah, and Wiggins improved across the board in ways that are just flatout rare.
Well, Johnson's been getting to the line at a fairly good clip, and the college game is way more physical around the basket, so i think there's a common thread there.
Anyway, the point is, Swole Johnson is highly likely to bust, but the finishing around the basket part isn't going to be his problem.
By blackace Go To Post well Monroe was like born to be in the triangle
Not really though. Centers in the triangle have a mid range game. I mean unless they're shaq or as good defensively as Bynum. But even then, Phil's preferred lineup to close games was always Odom/Pau
For as much as people love giving credit to D'Antoni for the stretch 4, Phil's been employing dudes like Kukoc, Fox, Horry, Odom as his PF of choice for almost 20 years. And preferring Centers that could shoot the open 15 footer.
Monroe puts too much pressure on Melo and their 4 to be exceptional defensively and exceptional shooters.

Phil's first six rings had Grant and Rodman as his starting PFs tho... Kokuc played a mix of SF and PF.. Rick Fox mostly played the 3...
Centers and PFs in the triangle or Princeton O don't need a 15ft jumper... Shaq, almost every center for the Bulls, Rodman, young Grant, pretty much prove that wrong...
Does it help? Sure it does a big with a 15ft jumper helps any O...
Exit interviews are happening for the Lakers who are injured.
Calrkson/Kobe/Young/Randle/Hill BrownKelly/Sacre
That's a 25 win squad. If we don't improve we gonna give up a top 5 pick next season =\

even with Towns yall won't be any good and you're going to keep your pick, but you'll get to see guys developing which is cool when they actually have nice ceilings
if they start to look like busts though...
LA's pick is only Top 3 protected the next 2 seasons.
Minnesota should be better, NY should be better and Philly too so maybe we luck into the bottom 3 next season and keep our pick, but can't say for sure til our roster is set.

Uh, what? Dude could shoot.
In the Triangle, your bigs have to be threats from the mid post, low post, and high post. They have to be threats when they're pushed outside the key when they catch the ball. The thing with Shaq was, no one could push him far enough out not to be a threat. His strength was insane. But the Plind pig is a basic triangle action, so is screening for the weakside forward to flash to the FT line. And in both those instances, the opposite forward ends up at the FT line. If you can't make a FT line jumper, or a 12-15 footer from the angle when you're pushed out of the key, your usefulness is far diminished.
Rodman's really the ONLY guy at PF that fit that bill, and that's because he was too valuable defensively/rebounding wise to sit down. And Jordan and Pippen had the post on lock.
Shaq is a rare case. It's a credit to the Triangle that it could eliminate the high post sets for him and still be effective, but high post sets are super valuable and Greg Monroe isn't worth giving it up. That's why I still think Love/Towns is a better duo than Monroe/whoever. Unless that whoever is like, LMA or something. .
Almost every center for the Bulls could shoot mid range shots. Longley, King, Cartwright all had that shot. In fact, for much of them, it was their only reliable offensive weapon.

I think next season and beyond hinges upon our offseason this year and the next. Randle and whatever we get this year are two assets to either make moves or start to build. If we can aquire an off season pick up we might have the groundwork for a big pick up next year. The salary cap news benefits is here a little I think.
I guess the flipside is that if we don't get the pick up, we get to watch younger talent develop while we give our picks away for the next two years.
At this point I would be happy with a mediocre pick up and a .500 squad to root for. I hate this tanking shit with a passion even though it might be neccesary.
The Princeton is a different animal all together. It's first, second, third, options are all cuts to the basket or low postups. Either back door or off rub screens. Jump shots are mostly bailout shots when their 309248230498 attempts at a cut to the basket/low post ups fail. So you can pass to one of your guards and let them go into a pick and roll. The bigs never have a responsibility to be offensive threats from the FT line area they're constantly starting at, as in the chin.
I like the Princeton, it allows for a lot of fluid movement and tons of reads that flow into different things. But high post, pinch post, elbow actions are limited. In the Triangle, they're a huge emphasis.
For the record: The Princeton is actually more complicated than the triangle. But it's just really perimeter player heavy whereas the Triangle is more balanced out

This offseason is pretty huge. Not just the pick. But it's the last time to grab a FA and lock him up before the cap skyrockets. They need to make the right signings.

Cartwright? He would take that shot on the Bulls but it wasn't a great shot for him.. He was a post center and before he hurt his foot he was a damn good one.
