Oh, I agree with that but players do care about how an organization treats it's players.
They should just pay him. They'll be good enough with their core to have an outside shot on making the finals and they'll get to preserve the whole "we take care of our own" legacy that will hold value after Wade retires.

As a fan I am not happy with the long term affects of giving Kobe the contract that they did. I do think it's different than Wade's situation in that Wade actually took LESS money last year so Miami could try to improve the team. Miami as a franchise needs to do what's right and pay the dude who is the most important player in it's franchise's history.

No doubt, though to be fair, nobody could have forseen Kobe tearing his achilles and then his shoulder back to back. That's some bad luck on a player who throughout his career never had a season ending injury and then having two in a row after signing said contract.

Terrible job. It's a western conference team that hasn't even decided if it wants to tank yet. Take another treadmill pick next year before tanking and its going to be almost impossible to survive by the time the teams approached anything close to a rebuild
