By etiolation Go To Post Does anyone else feel there will be major upheavels in the off-season? I know the Nets are canidates. The Suns might be a possibility. There's key free agents on contendors as well. The Bulls have to decide what to do with Rose and their future.
All I want is your old coach
GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- As the New York Knicks' historically bad season mercifully nears an end, Derek Fisher sees no reason that the Knicks can't go from worst to first in a year.
The Knicks' head coach said Thursday that the Knicks "will turn around quickly." When asked about potentially duplicating a dramatic 23-game turnaround like the Milwaukee Bucks (38-40) have done this season, Fisher said the Knicks are capable of something much more stunning.
Trying to duplicate the best, I get that. Thunder went from 23 wins in 2008 to 50 in 2009.
Basketball was fun back then :(

That's not even close to the best single-season turn around.

Still pretty impressive considering we didn't make any major additions between those two seasons.

Didn't you add Harden and Ibaka??

nah just harden. scrub.

Harden and Ibaka were the same draft.

Westbrook and Ibaka were in the '08 draft. Harden was drafted the next year.

Ibaka didn't play til 09-10, same as Harden.

We still started Jeff Green at PF in 09-10 and Harden didn't do shit his first season.
No Gondo, u lost that argument.
I mean, it's not adding Bird or the Boston Big 3 or anything, but it's definitely not "made no major additions" either.

Ibaka only played 18 MPG and Harden played less than 23. Neither were high-impact players at that point. In fact, reilo and I used to argue incessantly about Harden's potential, which I saw and he didn't. It was far from a sure thing that he'd be a good player.
We had Jeff Green (a "power forward" who routinely grabbed fewer than 5 rebounds) playing 38 minutes per game.
The biggest reason we made the leap was because Durant became a superstar and Westbrook started to show his potential. Winning 27 more games (and the improvement was bigger than that since we started out 3-29 in 2008-09) is impressive.
Nenad Krstic was our starting center for God's sake.
Bro you fall in love with potential in every fringe player like Slayven falls in love with white women. You literally said "didn't add any major additions" which is patently false.

I guess that depends on your definition of "major additions," doesn't it?
Neither Ibaka nor Harden were high-impact players at that point, and the numbers back me up.
It's actually pretty amazing that team won 50 games if you look at the roster.
Portland won +21 games last season by adding Robin Lopez.
reilo says Portland didn't add any major additions.
It seems like Gondo needs to take the L there. Ibaka and Harden weren't the players they are now obviously, but those are the 2nd and 3rd most major additions since the franchise came to OKC.
Also, saying that you saw promise in Harden can't be taken too credibly when you have hyped up basically every acquisition outside of Waiters.
Everyone gets a timeshare on Waiters island for at least a few games, I guess. Even Zach Lowe believed until a few months ago.
His Goldsberry shot chart in the 'Searching for Josh Smith' article was pretty eye opening. I guess for some people the self-confidence it takes to become a professional athlete just can't be turned off.
Hoops Summit on right now.
Skal, Ben Simmons, Thon Maker, Zhou Qi are all skilled big men for the World team. Team USA kind of looks shitty right now though.
If Hollis-Jefferson could shoot and/or dribble he would be a lock for top 10 in the draft. These draftexpress videos are killing me.
I realized today we're getting Houston's pick (cause for some reason they included a first AND a 2nd round pick in the Jeremy Lin giveaway to try and get Bosh/Melo and all they asked for in return was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergei_Lishouk" style="font-style: italic;">this guy who will never play a minute in the NBA) so I've been looking at guys who are going late in teh first round.
Team USA didn't score for the first five minutes of the game, omg, we suck.
I hope Zhou Qi doesn't declare for this draft. He could be amazing, but he looks like four years away.
Thon Maker really can't catch a basketball at all and stumbles so much.
Skal not doing anything.
Not the most inspiring game for next year's draft.
By psychintellect Go To Post Who's the best wingman in the draft?
This year or next year? This year, everyone has Russell and Winslow as being awesome.
By Moris Go To Post May 20th needs to hurry the fuck up so I can be more precise in my draftexpress vid consumption.
ditto. I watched too much Wiggins vids and overhyped (mainly to sell my self on him too) myself to high heaven...This year I don't want to repeat that.
I think I have begun to fail as I think I really really want Russell despite his athletic concerns...
It really is kind of funny seeing Lakerbros looking at DX vids. Don't worry, I shall join you soon in a couple years, or sooner if the Clips implode.

He's not that athletic, yeah, but he's such a good shooter and does so much other stuff. I really like him. As a shooting guard, he'll get killed playing point in the NBA.
Russell at the 2 I think will work if he has a reliable scorer on his squad. First option Russell can't work at least not yet cause of his lack of athleticism.
Rubio/Wiggins would be pretty good compliments to his game I think as would Clarkson/Kobe. Noel/Embiid with Russ sounds like a mess tho.
By psychintellect Go To Post what about dragic/bosh/russell?
If Bosh can ever be what he used to be it would be a really good passing squad, it'd also take the burden off Wade to play 60 games a season cause Russ can probably contribute right away
By Moris Go To Post Rubio getting anthroscopic surgery on his ankle....yikes
Time to draft Mudiay
By knux-future Go To PostTime to draft Mudiay
at this rate they'll get Towns....if Knicks take Mudiay OMG
By Moris Go To Postat this rate they'll get Towns....if Knicks take Mudiay OMG
He's not even the highest PG on their board, I guarantee you. Going by the moves Phil made he wants a PG who can drive and shoot a 3. Russell >>> Mudlay.
Russ fits that offense way better for sure, but Mudiay drives way better than Russell tho, Mudiay is faster of the two.
edit: and what Knux said, but I doubt Ny passes on him cause of THJ. NY picking Mudiay was a joke btw hence the 'OMG'
You just know Mudiay is going to kill in those 1 against chair workouts tho. Dudes will be losign their shit over his jumpouttadagymability.
I remember there was this workout vid of Turner that made him look like Jordan and shit. Had me hype...then I saw him actually play for us.
