towards the end of the season, mkg was literally guarding 3 people at once while consciously accounting for kemba falling asleep and giving up backdoor cuts on the regular and al jefferson declaring allegiance to basketball hydra
only thing i'll ever get on mkg about is his over reliance on the eurostep and his soft finishing at the rim. outside of that, his impact is maximum

People seem enthusiastic about Gentry but I still just can't be excited. I just don't see what others do. At least not above some of the alternatives.
I think part of it is that I don't trust Demps with big moves: Jrue Holiday trade, Tyreke Evans signing, Austin Rivers, initial CP3 trade, signing Eric Gordon for 15 mil.
The guy is a master at filling out a bench and finding diamond in the ruff role players but on big moves? He has been well below average. This is hands down his biggest one and if he got it wrong it might not just cost us AD, it will likely cost us the franchise if AD bolts and we can't continue to build enthusiasm for our franchise.

By pilonv1 Go To PostAD with a real coach, this could get scary
Just needs a healthy supporting cast. Make some trades and this team really can turn around and potentially go for a top 3 seed.
By fertygo Go To PostGot mad because your team now gonna ran offense brehs..I think his main concern is defense. Which i wouldn't have rated the Pel's real concern, their real concern was EVERYTHING.
Gentry isn't known as a defensive savant, but he's no slouch. He holds guys accountable and gets the most out of them that he can. You also need guys who can play defense. The pels team should be a good defensive team.
But with a good offense in place they should also find time to keep guys like Asik on the court, instead of having to get rid of him for more offense.
I mean, a defense with Asik as the anchor, and Davis working the PnR / help / roam at will guy. That could be Celtics good.

Sheridan is saying Noah and Taj are on the trading block.
WTF is the plan brehs? Do they even Max Jimmy? Is it to go young around Jimmy? Pau is stuck there though which will suck for him.

Also 4 bigs is apparently surplus for today league.
the correct move is moving them for competent SF that also can play 4 in small ball, sign and trade for Tobias Harris or Wilson Chandler would've nice.
Sheridan is pretty shitty source tho.
Adding to Sheridan's report was this one by the sun times that speculated Hoiberg doesn't need all those bigs like you said.
http://chicago.suntimes.com/basketball/7/71/649078/fred-hoiberg-ready-potential-rose-butler-collision-course-will-offense-translate-nba
I could see that Orlando trade of Taj for tobias since skiles likes defense and doesn't get along with Harris. Plus Taj could be the vet on that young Magic team. The only issue there is the Bulls would have two RFA's they would need to pay....
I doubt Denver gets a PF until they figure out wtf they are going to do with Faried.

Hoiberg’s decision making with the bigs could be made easier with growing speculation that the team will likely try and move either Noah or Gibson.
Noah would be ideal because he’s entering the final year of his deal and scheduled to make $13.4 million, while Gibson has two more years left at $8.5 million and $8.9 million, respectively. However, Noah is also suffering from a left knee that is basically bone-on-bone, and might even have trouble passing a physical in an attempted trade.
According to a source close to the team, Gibson was very upset with the team firing Thibodeau. The reserve has always been very loyal to Thibodeau and the entire coaching staff, and was described as a guy that right now “needed time to cool down.’’

No way CHI let's Butler go. I would love him landing in LA, but he's young and gud. Bulls gone keep him.
hopefully jabari comes back swole as fuk---love dudes game...but i loved derrick williams in zona also..
Skiles is a bad hire
Gentry should work out and Hoiberg is kinda a headscratcher unless the Bulls are just blowing it up

While Towns and Willie Cauley-Stein have garnered the most attention, the Knicks for months have been enamored with Trey Lyles, according to a team source. Lyles is a 6-foot-10 forward out of Indianapolis who Phil Jackson sees as a good fit for the triangle offense.
Would the Knicks select Lyles with the fourth overall pick? Crazier things have happened and if Jackson truly believes Lyles, the 2014 Indiana Mr. Basketball who was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and has played internationally for the U.S. and Canada, is worth it, perhaps he'll make the move. A more plausible scenario would be for the Knicks to trade down, since most draft experts don't see him as a top 10 pick.
…
The Knicks scouted Kentucky extensively during the season. Jackson even made a trip to Lexington to see John Calipari's team practice, and the word from people associated with the Wildcats is that the Knicks were impressed with Lyles.
A year, year and a half ago and I would have said you were out of your god damn mind to trade Noah and Gibson. Not now. I will always love Noah though. One of my favorite Bulls of all time.
I'm already pretty sure Phil Jackson is unfit to run an NBA team, but trading down to take a worse prospect because of fit when you have the second worst record in the league is some next level shit.
The Knicks are now rumored to be taking 10 different guys with the 4th pick and they're also rumored to be trading the pick. I swear to god if we don't walk away from this with Okaor, Russel, or Mudiay...

Trading down from Justise Winslow to Trey Lyles because of the Triangle really smacks of: "Well, Martell Webster is such a better fit than CP3 because we already have Bassy Telfair."
I take solace in the fact that none of Phils moves have been leaked beforehand so all of these rumors are almost certainly bullshit.
Anyway here's some Mudiay workout footage:

Man the Knicks better not draft Trey Lyles. That pick is reserved for my Celtics.
On another Celtics talking about trading up for Booker...please halp...

NY could maybe buy a late pick and package it with Galloway, THJ or Early for the ~16th-ish pick.
Funny that the Knicks have been run so poorly in the past that instead of thinking of ways NY could get the 16th pick in addition to the 4th, people immediately think of them trading down 12+ spots from #4.

at least his mechanics are sound.
maybe he'll develop is consistent shot later.
The only thing these rumors show is that the knicks are probably looking to move down the draft and might already have the form of the deal sketched out so they know where the picks they will get are located. They been attached to Winslow, WCS, and Lyles. 2 guys in the top 10 and another guy at the end of the lottery. So if anything it could be a trade with multiple teams. If they can't get a star then they need to look into getting better depth.

When I read his knee was basically bone on bone I lost all sympathy for Thibs.
wouldn't touch Mudiay until the mid first--too many guys ahead of him with promise that actually have tape worth a damn
i have no idea who Mudiay is but i sort of hope he goes early just so future prospects know that they don't need the NCAA. not sure if that makes sense tho

By Dipro Go To Posti have no idea who Mudiay is but i sort of hope he goes early just so future prospects know that they don't need the NCAA. not sure if that makes sense thoHe's going to be a top-5 pick. But much like Brandon Jennings, I don't think it's any kind of harbinger. Foreign teams have limits on the number of American players they're allowed to have (and most of them won't want to use their limited roster space on teenagers), the exposure of playing in the NCAA is still a lot better (like how D'Angelo Russell goes from a late lottery pick to top-3) and asking kids to go to a foreign country, away from family and friends, where they probably don't know the language is really hard.
The only reason Mudiay and Jennings even went abroad is that they were academically ineligible to play college ball.
