You don't pass on Okafor because you have Julius Randle tho
and not just so we are forced to take a point guard…laker pls

I would be surprised if the Sixers didn't end up with Russell. Unless they're just outsmarting themselves and grab like Hezonja. I know the Wolves like Russell a lot, but they're not taking him 1 and the Lakers are too bad to be thinking about fit.
(It still hasn't sunk in that the Wolves won the lottery. It still surprises me to type the Wolves at 1.)

The Lakers are going to take a center. The Lakers always go with centers even though Dwight was a disaster.

You'll be on to something if you said Houston though. :D
By DY_nasty Go To Postthey could just wait until Orlando gifts them another HoFerThat's actually interesting. Is Dwight a surefire HoFer?
@PhilJackson11: Some corrected thoughts:1)like 3pt shooters, check it out, but to play for 3pt shot is an error. Penetration, first principal of offense..
Mudiay comin'.

Related, the only guys the Wolves are bringing in for workouts for the top pick are Towns, Okafor, Russell and Mudiay. I'm really scared about the Mudiay workout.

Funny NBA Draft history according to Draftexpress: Monta Ellis came to the 2005 draft combine badly hung over and ended up testing as the 2nd least athletic player in the draft because of that, lol.
Not sure if that's a more interesting way of tanking your draft stock than Hassan Whiteside posting terrible athletic results because he showed up in flip-flops though.

By DY_nasty Go To PostI wouldn't be surprised if LA scooped Russell and just fucked up the whole draftKobe telling Russell he ain't shit, poor kid.
By Moris Go To PostI'd be waging war as a 6ers fan if Hinkie fucked around and drafted Mudiay.I already have my pleas pre copped.
"well maybe he can learn how to shoot, guys..I mean juts because MCW didn't...and Turner didn't and it took Thad and Iggy 7 years to become respectable shooters doesn't mean he couldn't. Russell is a scrub anyway..yeah.."
I hope the draft goes towns-okafor-russell.
And towns and russell turn into super stars.
Just for wolves/6'ers fans sake.

The comments were… unkind
Harshest scouting report I've ever seen Chad Ford give, damn (from 2005):
That went as well as Jay Bilas going in on Smoove the prior year.
I'm surprised [Lou] Williams was drafted. He was the top-ranked high school player in the country and is an elite athlete, but he is undersized to play the two in the pros, has a terrible body and does not have the ball-handling skills to make the transition to the point. He compares himself to Allen Iverson, but I think he's in for a rude awakening if he ever makes it to training camp. He has a long way to go. Welcome to the NBDL, Louis.

"We don’t have …. the time to methodically and slowly build through the draft," said Mitch Kupchak.
Knicks East?
Thing about Jahlil is....I have no doubt he'll becoming everything he's touted as being.
But I just wonder how effective that something is in todays NBA

Bilas' ether to Josh, when he and is whole family was there was some brutal shit. Let them enjoy this day, Jay..geez
By Branduil Go To PostDon't have the time? Is the NBA going to end or something? No, he put a time line on his own job. If they don't make the play offs in 5? years he would quit.

It's mainly a lack of tape. In reality the CBA isn't any worse than the NCAA but 12 games is hard to evaluate dudes off of. Plus he can't shoot and unlike many of the other can't shoot PGs, he isn't otherwordly fast or athletic (Rose, Wall, and YNB)...so with the little tape we do have (all star game and 12 CBA games), he looks like Jrue Holiday with a much worse jumper....is that really worth a top 5 pick?
Like I said, if we take him, I'll roll all of this back and defend him in hopes that he is more than that...but right now it is hard to be overly hyped over what we currently have to go off of. When you are picking in the top 5, you need to see something worth overhyping yourself over. Towns has his size and manuverability, Okafor has his post moves and hands, Russell has that pass everyone freaks out over.....Mudiay has a cool layup...in an all star game and a bunch of clips of him making layups over randoms...yay?
By IWMTB19 Go To PostDante Exum has them shook.
also this.
I guess my hangup on Mudiay is that I don't see the same sorts of things that make Rubio good and neither can shoot. Ricky can defend and distribute with the best at his position, which you have to be able to do if you're not going to be a jump shooting threat.
By KumaJG Go To PostWhy you guys don't believe in Mudiay
Real talk, I didn't know anything about Mudiay until just recently but even with the little video that's available on him, you can tell the guy is gonna be a special player. His instincts, patience, and feel for the game when the ball's in his hands are pretty incredible for a 19 year old. He makes plays that you usually only see from NBA veteran PGs. He might be exactly what the Knicks need right now.
I want to hear about his work outs first that he scheduled for June. Its kind of in the air because he changed his agent a few weeks ago and his new agent only want him to work out for the top 4 teams. However, its pretty clear that Mudiay's camp feels he will convince one of those teams to pick him.

Finished my draft project and pretty much everything had unexpected signs or no significance, wow, this sucks.
The results are still interesting and I'l publish them tomorrow, hopefully there's something to built on from it. Not as successful as I would have liked, but meh, that's life.

My project found scouts ridiculously underestimating the effect of age so I'm pretty sure it will hate every single player over 20 years old unless they're undersized and NBA-ready, sorry Dekker.
