By etiolation Go To Postat least we got the Jason Jones story
I look forward to the Kings trading Stauskas at the 2016 trade deadline and him emerging as the second coming of White Chocolate on his new team. :(
By Moris Go To PostJVG wants the Pellies job, that'd be interesting.I do wonder if the game might have passed him by somewhat.
His last year in Houston was 2007, and the game has changed a lot since then.
By KingGondo Go To PostI do wonder if the game might have passed him by somewhat. At the very least he has been watching tons of basketball since then and he isn't Byron Scott-levels of denial of analytics from his comments during games.

Nola probably the wrong team to figure out if he stuck in the past or not during the interview process. I really like the idea of SVG coaching again.
From Zach Lowe's podcast w/guest Windhorst:
I'm much more into the idea of landing Love now that LA has the #2 pick since Love is still pretty young. But we'd probably have to package Randle in a deal and his value is basically zero right now.
"Every executive I talk to, every agent I talk to, every quasi insider, every girlfriend's cousin's sister's boyfriend all says this guy is out of there," said Brian Windhorst
"I hear the same thing from everybody," said Lowe. "From everyone that is two or three or four steps removed. I don't quite believe all of that."
"I agree," replied Windhorst.
"Part of what's going on there is the Lakers' boogeyman," said Lowe. "They don't just say he's out of there, they say 'He's going to the Lakers.' That has much to do with the fear people have of the Lakers as it does with Kevin Love."
"I can't get a read on Kevin," said Windhorst. "His personality is a little bit different than many players I've covered. He has at every turn even gone out of his way to make statements about how he intends to remain in Cleveland."

By reilo Go To PostIf LMA leaves, isn't it more likely Love tries to go back to his actual home, not his fake one?but his fake one is so much nicer.
By Moris Go To Postbut his fake one is so much nicer. He couldn't be friends with Lebron, what makes you think he'll find LA nicer to play for while Kobe is still there? I don't think he wants to be part of that kind of media circus again.
I'd also argue Portland is "nicer" for a guy like Love.
Kobe is done after this year and expectations would be way lower than they were in Cleveland. I'm not dying for Love to come to LA, I'm content to see what Randle is exactly.
Portland couldn't even retain reilo's services.

I'd like KAT over Okafor, but I'll gladly take either one.
Just a few weeks now before the Rondo ghost stories start re-surging again too.

By RBK Go To PostKobe's fake retirement to recruit free agents is going to work wonders for Kuphchak. He can just keep signing one year deals until he gets his 6th.
Him coming to LA seems unlikely anyhow, they'd be a dream tandem on Offense and a garbage fire on defense. Towns+ Love would be crazy to see tho.
Seriously I just can't see guy with 9'4 standing reach became Al Jefferson bad on D for his whole career
By fertygo Go To PostSeriously I just can't see guy with 9'4 standing reach became Al Jefferson bad on D for his whole careerHe has the length and he's only 19, so it's only going to get better (I think), but he's not going to be Towns on defense (right away or ever).
By fertygo Go To PostSeriously I just can't see guy with 9'4 standing reach became Al Jefferson bad on D for his whole careerHow about Brook Lopez bad? He has a 9'5 standing reach.
By diehard Go To PostHow about Brook Lopez bad? He has a 9'5 standing reach.Bropez actually had ok defensive stats in the end.
By diehard Go To PostHow about Brook Lopez bad? He has a 9'5 standing reach.Bropez is good on defense stay ignorant.
This coming from an ex-Kanter fanboy too smh.
Bropez looks slower on the court than Jahlil too. Kid could learn but I fully anticipate a painful learning process if there is one.
By Forever Go To PostBropez is good on defense stay ignorant. No, he isnt. He hasn't gotten better since Zach Lowe eviscerated him a couple years ago, either. He is extremely large and tall, that doesn't make him a good defender.

find me anything that could paint me as a Kanter fanboy, really.. i dare you.
I remember Utah fans being way into Favors (with good reason! he's awesome) and not Kanter. His flaws were always pretty apparent and when he never really improved, they abandoned ship.
I still think Kanter could be a good player if he figures out that basketball is a team sport, and gets a little less terrible on D.
By KingGondo Go To PostWhat's it called when a former player utterly fails in everything he does and continues to be employed?Isiah drafted well. And let's not act like people of color have the same leeway as their white counterparts in these type of positions. Isiah is just lucky to have met James Dolan.
Isiah privilege.

By Forever Go To PostIt's okay to admit you were talking out of your ass.Right, we are waiting on you.
Brook Lopez at least isn't Al Jefferson bad tho, if Okafor gonna be that "bad"
team that draft him should already pop bottle
What hurt Bropez more is his multiple year of 5RPG

And lol at all 6 of those games being against the Atlanta Hawks. We're talking about going against two bigs whose primary form of offense is jump shots in Horford and Millsap.
Forever pls
You're better than this.

Bropez has gotten to about average defensively, which isn't terrible given his offensive output. I'd be let down if Okafor is Neo-Brook Lopez. Gonna need him to be a 20/10 Center if his defense is gonna be just average.
We've had this discussion before.
By SamuraiX- Go To PostAnd lol at all 6 of those games being against the Atlanta Hawks. We're talking about going against two bigs whose primary form of offense is jump shots in Horford and Millsap. That's what the NBA site gives by default; if I knew a site where I could get proper defensive rating splits I'd use that. He had a lot of bad games early in the season when he was coming off the bench and still recovering from foot surgery; he's been very dependable as a starter.

By fertygo Go To PostWhat hurt Bropez more is his multiple year of 5RPGHe was bad at rebounding, this is true, but again he's been much better this year. Dude is still improving.
Okafor is kind of interesting in he's a really terrible shooter compared to Bropez and Big Al. He's almost Shaq or Dwight tier on shooting right now whereas most offense-only bigs today are good to great shooters.

I think Okafor can/will improve in that area
Bropez had a really good back-end to the season but like... he's got a whole career of being meh at best on defense for the most part. If you're going to believe in his defense, you may as well believe in Lance NOT being the worst player of all-time too.

This will forever be the most terrible excuse ever.
His hands measured an inch larger than Kawhi Leonard's, a 38% 3-pt shooter and 80% free throw shooter.
It's all about whether these kids give enough of a fuck to practice.
By SamuraiX- Go To PostThis will forever be the most terrible excuse ever. There's always exception for the norm, but its fact its hard as fuck to guide your shot with giant ass palm

It's a p.bad excuse. Perpetuated because the guys who are usually the worst FT Shooters (bigs) are also the guys who have the biggest hands, usually.
Plenty of guys have massive hands, and shoot fine.
Reading old draft stuff. In 2006, the Grizz promised this dude, Alexander Johnson, that they would pick him at #24 so he didn't work out for anyone else. Then, the Grizz broke that promise so that they pick another first-round player and then they picked Johnson twenty spots later. That is some pure assholery, shit.
Also interesting: The Spurs promised Batum at #26 in 2008 and tried to dissuade other teams from taking him by hiding the results of a medical exam of an issue Batum was thought to have. They were the only team that had these medical results and they refused to share them to stop anyone else from drafting Batum. And then Portland did anyway, lol.

By SamuraiX- Go To PostIt's all about whether these kids give enough of a fuck to practice. It's not even practice. It's mental. Dwight practices a ton of freethrow shooting, but it's all mental.
By reilo Go To PostIt's not even practice. It's mental. Dwight practices a ton of freethrow shooting, but it's all mental.Which is why the routine beforehand is important. It helps you space out and get into an overall rhythm. Not just focusing on your form.
The best FT shooters all had a set routine they did before they shoot.
yeah intriguing thing about Okafor is with those big hands, if he can be a dominant post player, he's going to handle double teams really well with his ability to palm that ball so well and keep the ball away--good passer too
but the idea of randle and okafor together is doo doo
