Report: Mike Conley won’t sign contract extension with Grizzlies http://dlvr.it/9vvQ3T
Guess that makes Gasoline leaving more likely. If true, COME ON HOME TO PAPA!
But nobody signs contract extensions anymore. The last CBA made them pointless when you get fewer years and dollars than if you just wait until free agency. Especially when the cap is exploding next summer.

Fair enough.
Concensus for Wiz fans for the pick are Jerian Grant, Kevon Looney and Tyus Jones.
*shrugs*
I'm high on Jones but he's the only guy I've really scouted. Thoughts on Grant and Looney?

By Dark PhaZe Go To PostConcensus for Wiz fans for the pick are Jerian Grant, Kevon Looney and Tyus Jones.Grant is mature, could contribute immediately. Seems like one of the lowest-risk guys in the draft, but his ceiling isn't terribly high.

Don't know about Looney.
What is "not terribly high." I'd be satisfied with a backup PG with sixth man potential like Schroeder and IT.
The Wolves are having Rashad Vaughn in for a workout. I think he's the guy they're trying to trade back into the first round and get. I'd be okay with this, I like Vaughn and they need shooting and floor spacing in the worst way. Muhammad is good from deep and so is Chase, but Wiggins isn't there yet.
If they can walk away with Towns and Vaughn, I think that's a home run.
If they can walk away with Towns and Vaughn, I think that's a home run.
I still believe that when the dust settles, Flip goes Towns. Not only the best prospect, but the best fit. I was thinking recently about how Wiggins and Shabazz like to play in the post and Towns helps space the floor for them to operate. These are things that they'll consider (and luckily, they have a few weeks here to figure all this out.)
I just have to say, Jahlil maintaining a 270-pound frame at the age of 19 as a college freshmen is pretty damn impressive. And he looks to be in the athletic range of body fat percentage too. To see he's had this same build since he was 15 years old is just insane. He's gonna be able to bang with the best in the NBA. Dude's gonna be a force.
Where should we dish about WNBA. Between Isiah Thomas drama and Griner and her wife getting dual suspensions for DV against each other. Wow.
I totally can see Hinkie going full Aizen and trolling everyone

Okafor is amazing considering we were likely to get Mudiay and potentially could have got no one.
And honestly the only opinion that matters is Flip's, the guy who picked Johnny Flynn ahead of Steph Curry, Wes Johnson ahead of Cousins

Why do I know these things.
Thibs would rather sit out a year than help Chicago in a trade deal.

Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak: Kobe Bryant indicates that the upcoming 2015-16 season will be Bryant's last with the Los Angeles Lakers
By rodeoclown Go To PostBut nobody signs contract extensions anymore. The last CBA made them pointless when you get fewer years and dollars than if you just wait until free agency. Especially when the cap is exploding next summer.yeah, they really have to fix this. It's pretty much in no one's interest, outside of Max RFAs, to sign an extension. Ever.
By Moris Go To Postim ok with this.
Rumors sayin that Celts/Pistons/Lakers willing to pay around 15 mil a season for him tho, that sounds a little hefty.
By Moris Go To PostRumors sayin that Celts/Pistons/Lakers willing to pay around 15 mil a season for him tho, that sounds a little hefty.agree, especially given his age. He turns 29 in July. I was hoping more $10 mil range.
Tobias Harris it is.
While Los Angeles will probably draft the one big man that is left after the Minnesota Timberwolves select theirs with the No. 1 overall pick, the Lakers are ‘intrigued’ by the thought of drafting Emmanuel Mudiay or D’Angelo Russell.http://sircharlesincharge.com/2015/05/22/nba-rumors-lakers-not-sold-on-jahlil-okafor-karl-anthony-towns/?utm_source=FanSided&utm_medium=Network&utm_campaign=RecentPosts
mitch, c'mon breh. who you foolin?
Why believe everything someone posts? Every agent is going to be filling reporters with BS.
Lakers interested in Mudiay! In Thibs! Lakers trade for so and so! The Lakers front office is the best at preventing leaks. Ignore any and all rumors.

Do people really think Wes Matthews is a legit free agent target? Dude tore his achilles, how many poeple have recovered from that?

Uh what? You're thinking of KAHNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
By rodeoclown Go To PostDo people really think Wes Matthews is a legit free agent target? Dude tore his achilles, how many poeple have recovered from that?Apparently he has the X-Gene or something, he's already ahead of schedule and plans to play this season:
"Matthews, who had the walking boot removed from his left foot this week, expects to be on the court by August, the Blazers' official site reports.
Matthews remains ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn Achilles sustained on Mar. 5, but his upcoming unrestricted free agency will determine the next step in his career. Despite the injury, he should be a valued commodity due to his stellar perimeter defense and three-point acumen, as evidenced by averaging a collective 2.6 three-pointers per game over the past three seasons."
Wes is a stubborn motherfucker that plays through everything ala Kobe and it finally bit him in the ass. He takes a lot of pride in his work ethic and playing through injury, but he needs to take it easy and recover proper. Lucky for him he's on the right side of 30 still, so who knows.
I'm not buying it. I'm not paying Matthews anything. It's an injury that's basically killed everyone that's ever had it.
By rodeoclown Go To PostI'm not buying it. I'm not paying Matthews anything. It's an injury that's basically killed everyone that's ever had it.Dominique Wilkins tore his achilles and did alright:
Dominique Wilkins suffered a ruptured Achilles on January 28, 1992, at the age of 32. Wilkins returned the next season, playing in 71 games and averaging 29.9 points and 6.8 rebounds. He enjoyed several more productive seasons and retired at 39.
By rodeoclown Go To PostI'm not buying it. I'm not paying Matthews anything. It's an injury that's basically killed everyone that's ever had it.hey, I've torn my achilles and I recovered just fine. Of course, I was 18 and I was starting out from a 4 out of 10 on the athletic scale, sooooooo
By reilo Go To PostApparently The Rock tore his achilles during filming of The Gameplan. And did you see his twice in a lifetime matches? My point still stands!
Yeah, "ahead of schedule" is something I can't take as a good phrase any more. Sure these guys are all super athletes in much better shape than your regular Joe. But they're also putting much more stress on their joints/muscles/tendons than a regular Joe.
Just ... do the rehab properly and stop trying to force everything.
Also, Achilles tend to kill careers, but they're usually done by guys the other side of 30. So who knows how Wes will comeback. I know I don't want to be the one paying to find out though.

I'd roll the dice on Wes. It's the kind of risk a young/shitty team like LA can take. a big 3 year deal and could probably negotiate a team option for the final year.
Paying Wes while Randle/Clarkson and our new rookie develops, worst case he's off the books in 2 seasons and we can add another FA.

But it plays both ways, you do HAVE to meet the salary minimum. And with a bunch of guys on rookie deals...

And with a bunch of guys on rookie deals…Amare and Melo deals are traps. They were long and gave control to the players (which was especially dumb in Amare's case with his bad knee). If s young team could get Wes into a deal where they have the say if he sticks around for a 3rd year or not, I'd totally go for it.
Actually think he'd be a better fit in NY under those circumstance anyway. LA doesn't have a Melo level talent or burden to compete.

Great role player, certainly. But you really don't want to make him your #1 or #2 option. If he went and joined the Hawks... or Chicago (he and buttler would share at SG, and i assume minutes at the 3)

The Mavs are going to need someone. Detroit...
Lots of options for where he'd be good.
