I've campaigned pretty hard against tanking for a couple of years now. But the Wolves shamelessly threw away a season, asked people to pay more for it and it worked out. This is insane. This never happens. But it did and does it make it okay? Does it validate the process? I don't know, I don't know what to think.
I paid money to watch them this year and ended up tuning in only sporadically. It feels awesome in the afterglow, but it is a season they wasted, yet asked customers to please continue lining the pockets of Glen Taylor for. The whole thing sucked. It felt slimy. I won't ever suggest that people deliberately try and lose (and I don't want the Wolves to ever do this again.), but I mean ... what if Towns or Okafor is a legit stud and that playoff drought ends?
I'm just gonna try to enjoy the moment, I think. I root for a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 11 seasons. They've lost 60 games in more seasons than like Charlotte has existed. I've earned this even if the clown car on First Avenue hasn't.
