So Towns shot up a lot of draft boards.
Looks like Okafor/Towns have equal chances of going #1. If 6ers take Mudiay to get over MCW stank then LA gets Russell, that'd be kewl.
d'angelo's shaky off-hand and somewhat middling athleticism give me pause
could be a less assholish version of kevin martin

probably gonna end up like a courtney lee that didn't get traumatized by kobe in the finals
By rodeoclown Go To Post Kevin Martin is not a good or willing passer, though.
I miss Martin. We should've just paid to keep him. That 2012-13 team was historically good until the YNB injury.
Anyways... Hoping to join you loserbros in here after the next 5 games. I have no desire to make the playoffs.

From what I understand Russell is kinda of an arrogant prick sooo maybe an equally assholish better passing Kevin Martin.
I just don't think he can play the 1 at all so theres that
slowly accepting my potential Mudiay future. bu-but think of all the potential and wingspans and stuff amirite?
By RBK Go To Post Watch the Cavs "magically" land the #1 pick again.
If that happens I'm traveling up to NY and beating the shit outta Adam Silver.
I am completely serious.
By knux-future Go To Postslowly accepting my potential Mudiay future. bu-but think of all the potential and wingspans and stuff amirite?
I think he's going to be awesome at the combine and in workouts. That will cement his status. Well, he looks like an NBA player so teams will think they can fix his jumper and whatever.
By knux-future Go To Post Miami is the tin foil hat pick. They just lost LeBron...you get picks after losing LeBron brah
Crossing fingers
If we do get to keep our pick, Riley isn't drafting shit though. He's trading it as soon as he gets ab offer.
Started asking Jah a ? about having a rough game until late -- he stopped me and said 'it was the best game of my life, we won the title.'
I wouldn't worry too much about Jahlil Okafor. Great kid.
My dad told me about this yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2J913rFxv0
Kid's legit going to win the NBA dunk contest if he gets drafted lmao
By rodeoclown Go To Post Did anybody do more for their draft stock in the tournament than Winslow? He's probably a top-5 pick now.
Maybe Dekker?
I had never heard of the dude and most places have him going in the lottery now. Not that I follow college basketball terribly closely.
By rodeoclown Go To Post Did anybody do more for their draft stock in the tournament than Winslow? He's probably a top-5 pick now.
Winslow jumped from like 7-9 range to 4-5 so not a meteoric rise. Dekker going from bottom of the first to potential lottery is a much bigger jump.
Miami has Whiteside and Bosh. The top two picks in this draft are Centers. The tinfoil hat pick would be to give NY/LA the 1st and 2nd pick so they can get a jumpstart back to relevancy filling positions they desperately need filling and add to that big market profit sharing revenue.
As much as I would want that to happen, if it does, I'm not gonna fake the funk and act like the game's not rigged.
Okafor and Randle front court would be lul
teams need to be scouting their asses off...there's a history of the 2nd pick being straight dookie

Jakob Poeltl went from 21st to 11th on Draftexpress.
By psychintellect Go To Post I get everything but t he first part of your past. What does getting NY/LA relevant have to do with Miami having Whiteside and Bosh?
Knux said Miami getting the 1st is the tin foil pick. Cuz ya'll lost Lebron. But you already have a dominant front court in the Towns/Okafor lottery. So my tin foil pick(s) are NY/LAL 1-2 in whatever order.
So, uh, I just realized I kind of look like Bargnani. Fuck.

ahh, riles would trade the pick anyways. even if the next lebron was in the draft he'd trade the pick.

My early favorites assuming we keep our pick are Oubre and Justin Anderson. We desperately need help on the wings and I no longer have faith in Roberson to fill that role.
Anderson especially strikes me as a classic Presti pick. Still young, super long, good defender. Has shown some promise on offense too, which is a lot more than can be said for Roberson. Should be able to defend 2s and 3s at the NBA level.
Coincidentally, he played at Montrose Christian in high school, which is where KD played.
AD Saying he wants to be in everyone's top 5 all time without hesitation. Saying that's how he envisions his career playing out. That's cool and all,
Make the playoffs first young buck, the world isn't made up of IWMTB's
By DY_nasty Go To Post I can't tell if Stanley Johnson is Danny Granger or Joey Graham ;_;
I know you meant that as a slight, but damn Joey Graham was a stud in college.
Those mid-2000s Oklahoma State teams were badass. I miss enjoying college basketball.
By DY_nasty Go To Post my tin foil pick is charlotte finally getting the #1 overall because WE NEVER HAD THE #1 OVERALL
And yall would take Baby Big Al and the cycle continues

well every year somebody from 7-9 jumps into the top 3
so Denver or Detroit will get the # 1 probably lul

At this point, do your worse tank gods. Hinkie will trade whoever we take anyway
By Dark PhaZe Go To Post AD please take the qualifying offer
Nah, man. He'll be in line for a supermax under the new CBA. Even if the Pels suck he's gonna sign that deal.
He can always Dwight or Melo his way out of town later.

Yeah - and with his injury history, there's no way he can ride on the QO risks. No agent would let him.
I would be very surprised if the Pels ever become a consistent contender while AD is there.
It's apparent that their FO has no idea what the fuck they're doing.
By psychintellect Go To Post trade nerlens noel for jrue holiday brehs
And a lottery pick for Omer Asik, who they'll have to overpay to keep or lose for nothing.
(Also, let's not forget that the pick they sent along with the Noel pick turned into Elfrid Payton.)
That roster is goofy as fuck. Part of my motivation to miss the playoffs is that the Pels dumbass front office will see fluking into the playoffs as a validation of their roster moves.

Please turn this razor like perception on OKC.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Post Kaminsky may have changed my mind. His post defense was surprisingly good, maybe even great. Rim protection was average, but that's all you really need.
He'll get bullied by NBA bigs.
By Moris Go To PostPlease turn this razor like perception on OKC.
I'll admit I have rose-colored glasses when it comes to our young players, but the Thunder's situation is far better than the Pelicans'.
Even if you criticize the Harden trade (which is entirely fair), the Thunder posted a historically great SRS in the following season (won 60 games too) and won 59 the following season with YNB missing a ton of games.
We flipped a dud (Perk) and a malcontent (Reggie) for Augustin and Kanter, who is only 22 and regularly putting up 20 and 10s with good efficiency.
We'll have a top-20 pick this season. We have promising guys stashed in Europe. We have youth throughout the roster (still the 8th-youngest team in the league!) and our stars are just now entering their primes. If we avoid major injuries next year (which is an asterisk for every contending team) we'll be among the 3-4 favorites to chip.
We're not perfect, but we're in very good position moving forward.
My wish list for the rest of the season/offseason: miss the playoffs, get rid of dead weight (Lamb and Jones) if possible to trade up in the lottery, draft potential wing help, re-sign Kanter, get healthy and rested for next season. I'm optimistic, but I think it's justified.

Article doesn't cite a source on the vet min part, but after all the optimissim coming from Knicks brass about Bargs and how he fits the offense, gotta think they'd be willing to throw him more than 1-2 mil.

Incoming posts from Knicks fans about how giving Bargs $5 million/year is basically a vet min because of the new CBA...
"According to an NBA source, Jackson still is a fan and has interest in bringing Bargnani back for the right price because of his length, post defense and ability to score and pass in the structured system," Berman wrote Sunday. "Bargnani's market value is one of the great mysteries of the summer, pending how he finishes the final 21 games."
Re-signing Bargnani wouldn't take care of Jackson's need for a starting-caliber center who can dominate in the low post, but it'd give him a serviceable backup who can create mismatches for opponents. The biggest question is what the market thinks Bargnani is worth, and if he would be willing to take a sizeable pay cut - he's making $11.5 million this season - to stay in New York.
Literally bringing back contract Bargs for his defense.
Bargs staying in NY is almost a certainty given that the coach and President of B-Ball Ops are complimenting him so heavy to end the season. If NY fans are lucky some dumb GM will come in and try and steal him away.
I've seen one Knicks game and Bargs looked like a god then. Do it Phil
this ignores the fact that our bigs are garbage on fire tier but who cares
