go for 60.
I mean its only 4 more than 56.

Batum and MKG will be awesome defensively and will cover for the rest of their team being bad. MKG damn near did that by himself.
hopefully Clifford gets out of the way tho

I don't understand ESPN's future power ranking. The Wolves roster is 12th, but the overall team is 19th because of market and management (that put together that roster)?
Charlotte getting 56 wins is through the court vision and scoring of Jeremy Lin. Lin about to be your lead scorer while MKG and Batum lockdown defence.
Bobcats signed jlin? Whaaaa Good for 53.
Batam is a Swiss Army knife. He's a great all around player, an underrated passer, and makes for overall one solid glue guy. You can't develop his defensive length!
Hehe ;)
I mean I guess it's a contract year for him right?

J Lin will do what J Lin does. He'll be underwhelming, inconsistent, and eventually benched behind a scrappy young d league level player. All the while pouting and using bible quotes to show just how far above the fray he really is

he's gonna steal kemba's job by mid season

Lin is not going to be benched if he's already a bench player at the start of the season. He'll be a fine rotation player.
DY, do you think Kaminsky will take the 4 spot at some point during the year?

Charlotte Best 5, not starting but most effective. Most likely become starting 5 later in season.
Jeremy Lin
Nicolas Batum
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Al Jefferson
Cody Zeller
Bemba Walker 6th man swap in for Zeller to play small.

By Gabyskra Go To PostLin is not going to be benched if he's already a bench player at the start of the season. He'll be a fine rotation player.Kaminsky's ability to stay on the floor will be the only thing holding him back imo. I think the coaching staff ruined Zeller by trying to make him into Troy Murphy/McBob when he should've been a faceup 4 coming into the league... Kaminsky does everything naturally that Zeller has been forcing himself to learn.

And I honestly DO hope that Kemba gets his starting spot questioned or took. He needs it.

Ridiculous.

Gobert and Hayward are amazing in 2k. Favors too. But especially G-Tyme. Practically white lebron.

By Dark PhaZe Go To PostDid you really add shooting doeFrom terrible to mediocre
On defense subtract Biyombo, add some rooks, a year to Al Jefferson and Jeremy Lin, it's one step forward one step back
By PSYCH! Go To PostFrom terrible to mediocreYou look at what we held opposing offenses to in a bad year. Any kin of scoring means that we're winning more games than we lose easily. Outside shooting is gonna make our 3 main guys that much more efficient.
But no one wants to argue about facts.
Last season...
Kemba: 30.4 3PT%
Batum: 32.4 3PT%
MKG:
You better hope Batum and Walker had a giant down year. Batum is a better three point shooter than that but he played on a top offensive system that generated Harrison Barnes levels of open looks for him.
Honestly, I am not 100% certain where your three point shooting is coming from.
You don't have a single elite shooter.

By reilo Go To PostLast season…That's not even the point tbh. How many shooters did we even have on the team last year? For the vast majority of our lineups, there was barely ever a point in the season where teams had to guard more than 2 people outside the 3pt line at the same time (nearly all of that time, kemba was one of those 2 people and he had the ball 24/7). We don't even need good shooters. Just people to occasionally hit a shot and give us real spacing for guys to operate in. Hell, it actually puts MKG's scoring in perspective because he managed to be one of the better off-ball/cutting scorers in the league last year despite having one of the most congested floors in the league to operate in.

We got people that at least require a defensive presence on the perimeter. Spacing is huge.
This is just like when I washed Faze for betting against us two years ago. Almost the same kind of concept. Real offense can't exist without spacing. Real defense can't exist without rebounding. Doesn't matter if you have super agile 7 footers or lights out shooting - you need the basics the operate at the fundamental level. We don't even need to be a middle of the pack shooting team, we just need to be NOT one of the worst shooting teams in the modern era like we were last year. The fact that the shooters we did add have the potential to play above their average is what allows me to make more aggressive bets.
edit: i'm taking to the time to explain all this now and during the offseason - when I'm right a few months from now, there'll be nothing but trolling, umads, journal entries from faze, and a mountain of tears
I still don't think you solved any spacing issues because opposing teams can still play off of your shooters.
Are you improved from a shooting perspective? Yea, but I don't see where it moves the needle that much.

yeah, my point exactly
You can still play off of Batum. He's not gonna change your entire spacing problems for the better by himself. Am I missing someone?
By reilo Go To PostYou can still play off of Batum. He's not gonna change your entire spacing problems for the better by himself. Am I missing someone?so you just gonna act like marvin williams being our sole spot up shooter last year didn't happen at all now to stick to a point that doesn't exist
aite giri
My point is that you are overselling your improved shooting. I understand it was shit tier, but it's not an above average shooting team. You can't honestly think you'll be better than say, 20th in the league in 3PT shooting, do you?
Interesting! I found a great comparison for the Hornets from 2013-14... you guessed it, the Hornets!
23rd in 3PT shooting (as opposed to 30th in 2014-15) and still only won 43 games and Al Jefferson had a career year.
2014-15, for comparison:

Losing Lance and Hendo who seemed to be allergic to open shots at the very least will give the team more space to operate. Frank the Tank also will space the floor. They won't be the Warriors but there will be extra legroom so to speak which will open up just enough space for Big Al in the paint. Batum isn't the greatest shooter but the simle fact that you can't exactly leave him open all day will help.
Trust me I know bad spacing...the Hornets were worst than us at that last year

on top of that, the type of shots we took last year were outright laughable. we took a higher percentage of off the dribble 3s later in possessions than any other team in the league. shooting 32% from 3 on those kinds of shots means that we almost never took a single 'good' 3pt fga for several games at a time. i'd love to say that we just had a bad shooting year, but we were never even capable of organizing a modern nba offense because our shooting was so bad
that 32%, which is laughable in itself, came from 30+ usage ratings from Kemba and Mo Williams. And a 25+ usage rating for Gary Neal before we traded him. These guys were taking bad shots in high volume and they were also the only facilitators at the same time. that stat, even though its bad, doesn't even begin to tell the whole story
i don't think people can even grasp how poor our offense was last year because there haven't even been a half-dozen teams in the league to be that lacking in shooting since the late 90s. there's no frame of reference.
You should fire Clifford and hire D'Antoni and your team will be Suns 2.0.
Believe.
No but seriously your shooting has slightly improved but your team won't capitalise off that through plays and ball movement for open looks.
Maybe just chucking and inflating your 3PA and FGs will help you sink more and score more. It helped the Rockets. Go Josh Smith step back 3 every possession.

You're seriously underestimating how much of a groupie Batum is--he's never done anything on his own, and he only gets hyped when he's surrounded by guys who take the target off of him. In an offense with MKG and Kemba he's going to be drawing the opposing teams best perimeter defenders night in and night out. I don't think he has the attitude to deal with the inevitable fuckery that will be Charlottes offense. It's why I keep joking about him being half-way to San Antonio by the break.
Your "we literally couldn't be worse argument" completely side steps how much the league has improved in the off-season as well. The Magic have drafted literally an entire starting lineup and a sixth man. The tank is over there. Miami post LeBron PTSD is over. Milwaukee is adding Monroe, Vasquez, and Jabari this year. Indiana essentially added Paul George and Monta Ellis. Detroit is going to be one of the biggest try hard rosters in the league this year. New York can't even tank if they wanted to this time around.
If you think you'll outpace contract year Beal and Wall of gawd during our KD pitch year, you've got another thing coming.
