RT @WojYahooNBA: Yahoo Sources: Minnesota progressing on contract buyout with former No. 1 pick Anthony Bennett. He would be free agent if clears waivers.
By DominicanPower Go To PostHarrison Barnes is drinking his own Kool Aid.Actually he just did take his first alcoholic drink..
maybe he is just drunk
Is it really so bad that you got to buy Bennett out? It's not like Minny is doing anything but building and developing this year.
Minny has a lot of project bigs they should be giving minutes to. Letting him go gives him a better chance to succeed in a different environment.
By etiolation Go To PostIs it really so bad that you got to buy Bennett out? It's not like Minny is doing anything but building and developing this year. He's terrible (though slightly more impactful than Adreian Payne) and there's really no point in continuing to have him on the roster.
They signed Bjelica not just because he's shown himself to be a good player in Euroleague and international play, but because they've seen enough of Bennett and Payne up close to know there's nothing there.
Also, don't discount that the Wolves don't want to be bad. They didn't last year, either, but Rubio went down, and, well, there went the season. I don't think they're that interested in developing dudes that aren't like Towns or Wiggins. (They didn't start to give Bazz minutes until forced to and then saw, hey, he might have something.)
They probably shopped him around, and there's no taker.
I wonder what the rotation will look like. How many minutes Garnett will get, etc.

By Gabyskra Go To PostThey probably shopped him around, and there's no taker.KG will start but probably only play about 20 minutes. The Wolves say he's cleared for back-to-backs this year, too, but I'm skeptical. I'm figuring it won't take long for Mitchell to decide that Bjelica will be getting the bulk of the minutes at the 4.

I still think it's more complicated and interesting to see how they sort out the wing rotation. I knew that Flip wanted to start Muhammad and Wiggins this year, but we'll see what Mitchell does.
Yo diehard, can you shoot a short PM to the CFB-GAF regulars to thank them for their support? Their kind words mean a lot.
mre, Bertram Cooper, Monroeski, andycapps, and timetokill especially?

ESPN piece about Jerry West dismissing analytics and the piece stating the owner is in line with him.
But to listen to it from analytics people, GS is the poster boy of analytics (just like the Spurs were and the Heat too)
I mean, having old school old fashioned guys with winning track records pre-analytics like West/Pop/Buford/Riley didn't ever make people stop and think.
If they're winning, they're the new poster boy for analytics.

This has generally been my issue. There is no reason to be against analytics. It's all information that can be used to better your team and your team's play.
It's the cult of analytics that annoys me, and I believe, annoys others. When you win, then you're an analytics team. When you lose, then you're not. The actual matter of how much analytics each team incorperates doesn't seem to relate to public perception as much as success and convenience of narrative does. Teams like the Spurs are still moderate yet willing with their use of analytics, especially compared to higher concept teams like the Rockets. Bad teams that were filled with analytics guys and run by a guy who owned a sports stat tracking business like Renadive and the Kings don't get credited for analytics, and when they do high concept stuff like their D-League team's pace + 3pt shooting, it tends to get mocked rather than appreciated for its analytic approach.
Social media and the press tethered to it tend to take decent to benign things and turn them into high school social cliques.
Hinkie is so going to go all in on Bennett.
Allegedly the Jrue deal required one of Noel, Oladipo...and Bennett to be there at the NO pick.

Just from a stat perspective. It weird usually when a player bets on themselves going into a contract year I think "well, they'll put up above avg stats to prove it". On GS though I just don't see where Barnes gets enough touches let alone minutes to justify anything better than 4/64 even with the cap going up.

awww yeaah just what we needed.
But no honestly, I think Brett Brown would hate Bennett so I doubt Hinkie would bring him in. And as ass as we will be, our bigs are all better than Bennet so its not like he's a lock to get minutes here either.
You're too good for that place Gondo, Slaent <3s you.

Yeah Apple's SoC's generally shame whatever was the highest end ARM thats out when they are released. They are pretty great.
It's pretty nuts. Apple really understands that great hardware needs to be optimized as well. I don't think their software and hardware engineers get enough credit for that even if the OS can lack in feature set. Knowing that my phone will be rock solid for 3-4 years even after several new OS updates is a great peace of mind.

The Trail Blazers, Magic and 76ers are all said to be interested in forward Anthony Bennett should he reach a buyout with the Timberwolves, per Amico Hoops sources. Yahoo Sports reported a buyout is likely forthcoming. Bennett would be just the fourth No. 1 overall draft pick not to make it to the fourth year on his rookie contract, per former Nets assistant GM Bobby Marks.
