Like, I'm sure you know plenty of casual basketball fans that said "Mario Chalmers is just fine at PG for Miami" and you clawed your eyes out shortly after.

I don't think anyone has ever complemented Chalmers. I was on legit shook watch when there were rumors we might take him off of Pat's hands.

By knux-future Go To PostI also want to like Oladipo but he does come off as a try hard…I am also salty that Orlando has been unscathed from quietly tanking alongside us with more talent but have no push back (not even say we don't deserve it..we do)…but Vaughn was an awful ass coach and Skiles will give them that first season push..which could be a bad thing as I don't think they have a star on their roster (Maybe Mario if he doesn't shank a dude by the end of the year).

As it stands on the depth chart, Mario is their 4th player on the wing behind Oladipo, Harris and Fournier... They definitely need to make a deal happen. I'm pretty sure Harris will play the 4 in small ball, leaving more playing time for the two bench players, but even then it is too crowded. Or they get creative at times and play a fun lineup of Oladipo - Fournier - Hezonja - Harris - Vucevic. If they do, I'm fucking tuning in for sure.

I don't think Elfrid Payton ever fixes his J, Gordon might become somebody outta nowhere, Oladipo should see some steady improvement, Mario is too fuckless to ever be really good, but he still has a a high ceiling I think. Vucevic and Harris aren't amazing and are at about their ceilings. Odds are on Orlando's side that their prospects each get good ENOUGH to be playoff team in the near future and fake contenders in 3-4 seasons maybe.

Orlando's issue will always be their interior D as long as Vuc is inside solo. They're not stopping anyone with a respectable frontcourt.

Payton is... I don't think he'll be a liability because, unlike Rondo, you actually have to guard him. I don't know if he'll ever fix his J, but you can still be a good PG without it. He's got the Andre Miller-gene for sure.

Honestly, I think Orlando should sell high as fuck on Oladipo. I think Fornier is the perfect SG in today's NBA anyways. Trade Oladipo for some interior help and they might make noise. He'd net more than Vucevic - and both of those guys are the biggest question marks in the long-term.

Harris is just fine. Sober Vin Baker.

There's not really room on the roster for Henderson. He'd be behind Rondo, Collison, McLemore, Marco and Seth Curry.

Team's worst habit is putting out flyers on extremely fringe, unwanted projects. This is what I call Talent Fishing with Al Davis or "The Rookie Card as Bookmark", as there seems to be more to look at in their tabloid clippings and bios than there is sports accomplishments to put on the back of their baseball card. This includes Sim Bhullar and Royce White.

Hezonja plays much smarter than JR. He's more Ginobili than JR. Barcelona basketball is not college fuckery, it's very organized, even if he had a given role coming from the bench... So is Crotia's national team. He's played within contexts with more discipline than people would think.

And I don't even like that the Suns signed Tyson. He's a great player and all. Still has some in the tank. But he's a bad signing for the team in terms of a "3 years from now" perspective. But in some regards, at some point, the Suns need to have some vets around who can keep people in check.

It cannot be understated how bad of a coach Jacque Vaughn was. In 2013-2014, the team was close to league average defensively (17th) and with Big Baby and Jameer playing big minutes. Last year they inexplicably fell to 24th in spite of having arguably better defensive talent (Dedmon, Gordon, Payton). Moreover, he threw out tons of rando lineups and would do carnival of stupid shit like run Willie Green at point guard. Oladipo regressed defensively from his rookie year, Andrew Nicholson had a very promising rookie season (15+ PER) and is now probably going to China soon. Moe Harkless started like 50 games in 2012-2013 and showed enough to be a useful rotation player until Jacque left him on the bench. The way he handled Tobias Harris' minutes was also staggeringly dumb, he'd be in the starting lineup, get hurt, be declared healthy and come back, and then only play 23 minutes coming off the bench when it was patently obvious the team needed his scoring.

Skiles has his problems but he's an actual coach with a plan, having a buncha 23 year olds trying to play under an absolute moron will never look good.

and whiteside's biggest speed bump last year was the coaching staff. they benched the fuck of him plenty of times - some of that was him being an active idiot, a lot of it was him being an idiot the day before

on the court though, he's hell for most bigs in the league to deal with simply because teams forgot how to deal with centers that can score efficiently.

oh no doubt. There was a game this year in which Aaron Gordon unlocked his chakra and was about to fucking feast on our shit ass front court...he got pulled and never played again. I was chalking him benching Oladipo his rookie year as pure tank moves but nope...dude had no clue. Made me really appreciate our coach more.

I thought those were tank moves too. But he had some STUPID shit going on that just went beyond reasonable logic in either direction. And the individual guys... I don't think I ever saw a game where we played and Harkless knew what to do or where to be. Its one thing if the guy sucks, but its something entirely different when he's just a breeze within the game tempo. I think Nicholson got a raw deal too.

But you're right about that - some things are tank moves and some are just... wow. Celtics for example - I don't think they made a deliberate tank move in-game in the past two seasons. The Bucks the year before last though? After the first two months of the season they were hilariously blatant.

I've always been a fan of Tyson, so you're just proving that you're maintain your blithering idiot status. How is calling Tyson a great player overhype? He's a good defender, good hands, hits FT's at a really good clip. For a Big that has no post moves / can't create his own, he's basically the best you can get. Tyson during his run with Dallas and the next year with the NYK is Whitesides absolute ceiling. And Tyson was probably a smarter player.

I'm not putting Tyson as a top 10 all time or even close to it.

And I've always been a fan of Melo though. Again proving you're a blithering idiot with absolute blinkers on that only reads and felates comments related to lakers/phil/kobe/triangle.
