Chad Ford says that teams are worried that he's "too smart."
... Which is an, uhh, interesting statement.
Kaminsky has apparently looked like a god in workouts....but yknow how that goes.

If Randle pans out, we need a Defensive Center like WCS to cover up for him. Obviously not my first choice but wouldn't hate it.
His post defense in the last two rounds of the tournament with first WCS+ Towns and then Okafor was pretty gawd-like. Dude REALLY knows how to cheese for charges, and as disgusting at it is to watch, it's a good skillset for a guy to have. And dude really wasn't bothered defensively by any of those guys.
Doesn't mean I like him because I think his O is going to hit the toilet in the pros which results in a bad overall prospect, but man, WCS has never impressed me any type of way.
You're going to be asking for all of your scoring to come from your wings and guard then. I'm not sure what you think Randles offensive potential is, but it's really not that high. Dude would be lucky to become Draymond good.

I feel that outside of the top 2-3, WCS is the only sure fire bet in the draft. He'll be in the NBA for awhile as long as there's no major injuries in his career. Smart, shot blocker, and defensively mobile. Good body and athleticism. Your defensive big guy that you throw lobs to on offense.
I don't know if you take that in the top 5 tho. When you are picking that high you probably need more than "longtime starter" level dudes
If you just want a 7 footer that can defend decently well then that's not all that hard to find in todays NBA. It'd be dumb to pass up on Winslow, shit, even Hezonja for a guy like WCS.
League is really center heavy right now.

Meh, if he can get 8-10 points a game and play good D at Center like Tyson ChandlerI'd be content with that.
I don't think Randle will have a problem averaging better than ~10points on 44%, I don't think anyone is that low on Julius. of course Draymond gives you good defensive effort too, but I think Randle should be better than him on the offensive end.
Problem with WCS is he was looking to go mid first last year and all of a sudden people get hype on him despite him being a Jr, playing with a potential HOF player in KAT, AND played in a rotation so deep that Calipari is literally putting the word out that it was a 1 year deal because recruits weren't trying to sign up to get Spurs like minutes on their way to trying out for the pros
that defense was bigger than everyone else, more talented, and was never fatigued at all while doing it

By rodeoclown Go To PostFourth on the Wolves draft board: Porzingis.
I'll be praying all weekend.
You should be scared.
Flip was a huge part of us moving the 5th pick for Mike Miller and Randy Foye. He looked at the draft prospects and literally thought two aging roleplayers would be better. Understand that Rubio was a part of that draft also.
Shit in a draft like this not even #1 overall is safe with the wrong GM.
By rodeoclown Go To PostFourth on the Wolves draft board: Porzingis.I'm probably fucking up by saying this...but this is the one dude I don't want. Mainly because I could see Hinkie stashing him like the shithead he is but also because this type of player has died in the league since Dirk. People see a tall guy who can shoot and just assume he's Dirk....Dirk is so much more than that...but nope take this guy, hope he becomes Dirk, then act shocked when hes not, then get your ass fired. We shit on Bargs but he is the best case scenario for a lot of these dudes.

By Dark PhaZe Go To PostYou should be scared.I'm seriously hoping lottery luck takes the chance away from him. Oh, man, we got the third pick and now we have to take D'Angelo Russell. Damn. This shouldn't be a hard summer for him. Draft a good, immediate impact player, sign Bjelica, who just won Euroleague MVP, luck into a pretty good team.

He's not a particularly good rebounder, either. He's pretty slight, too, he's gonna have a hard time trying to play NBA defense initially.

I'm on the Tyus Jones band wagon atm. Especially for our team, just letting him come off the bench as an immediate first option to see if he can become our IT or Schroeder. Would be huge for us.
Dawson isn't projected to be selected, wonder if his combine showing changes that.
Pat Connaughton posted the 2nd best vert all time yesterday and scored 18 points today on 5 of 9 shooting including 4 of 8 from 3. Pat is also a pitching prospect for the Orioles.

that dude is legit shit
UNC will make a final four next year based on him leaving alone
And as far as Connaughton, i mean shit, if Dellavedova can drop 19 on the Chicago bulls in a close out game against Derrick Rose...
worth a 2nd
OMG Russel.

A Wolves beat writer asked Russell why he went to the combine. His answer was, "If I wasn't here, I would have probably never met you, and you're a great guy."
Seems pretty likeable to me.

By KingGondo Go To PostFrom Lowe's post-mortem of the Bulls:Meanwhile Dante "Ray Allen" Exum is hitting 83.
Damn. I had no idea he was so bad this season. Looked it up on Basketball Reference and he actually only hit 13.
Bulls are in a tight spot.
But seriously, Stauskas couldn't shoot either.. it's weird.
Dante not hitting 3s isn't surprising, not driving or shooting well from anywhere is the weird part.

When I said you guys were getting stein a few weeks ago you said I was crazy.....
If Love wasn't injured he would of been the play but I honestly think you guys get Rondo on a cheap deal and save that cap space to legit go after Durant or Love again in 2016 and move Randle to the bench
Rondo
Kobe
Young
Randle
Stein

I'm opposed to WCS if we can get Russell/Towns/Oka
Been saying WCS over Mudiay tho liked him at the 5th spot. Wcs in the top 3 is a no go tho, which is where I'm hoping LA ends up...but that probably means Mudiay future =[

Even if that white boy buster harder than Jimmer, as far Young wing development we had Tony Snell, which I think can be Quincy Pindexter good, that solid rotation/starter material alongside Jimmy at SG
Cause we lost 4-2 in the second round to a team with one of the best records in league history while having a lot of injuries? Ok
You're talking to the wrong one if you think I remotely care about moral victories.
Blow it up because the team was truly never good enough to make a Finals apperance. Randolph/Gasol both being free agents doesn't hurt either.

Is it really necessary to find a person who can shoot efficiently right away? Scoring power is great but for a nice long term project wouldn't it work best to find the BEST defensive talent in a draft and have him work with a shooting coach to develop a shot? Tons of players in this league come in shooting bricks but with great defense. Those players eventually went on to develop a nice midrange game.
For a franchise like the Knicks, a go to guy that can be a Wiggins is necessary and essential due to the course they're taking with Melo, but for younger teams like Orlando, Philly, Utah, Boston, etc. where you aren't jackshit now but you have a decent core/pieces, a top tier defensive player should be a top priority while they work on their shot during the season and offseason.

By DY_nasty Go To PostMemphis needed wing scoring 6 years ago. I don't even know what direction they'll go now tbhThere is no direction on a treadmill.
Bulls fan on realgm preferring Hoiberg than Gentry, fuck them.. most of them don't even know who the fuck Hoiberg is.
By jjasper Go To PostCause we lost 4-2 in the second round to a team with one of the best records in league history while having a lot of injuries? Ok
All that doesn't mean you guys aren't on a treadmill. If Tony Allen could shoot a 3 reliably I think you guys might of won that series.... So I guess wings who could potentially be legit D and 3 guys. Maybe take a flyer at Shumpert and see if he can be mentored by Tony Allen and play the 3 around him. The cavs are semi maxed out so he could be got for something reliably cheap like 8 mil.
If you are a 3 and D guy away from maybe beating the best team in the league, you arent a treadmill team.
Nobody knows what the fuck a treadmill team is these days.

The harder part for Memphis is they're going to have to find that 3-and-D guy for cheap since they're capped out.
