maybe you
By blackace Go To Postmaybe youIn the majority of games last year, Kemba was starting with 4 guys who -combined- hit .6 3pt FGs per game. Shooting is a big deal. Defense should be the same if not better.
Yal think I'm crazy when I'm only presenting facts and logical extrapolations.

and Clippers are #1. i ain't putting much stock in to that.
Everything may have went wrong for Charlotte last season but 49 wins implies that everything will go right. Which never happens.

That stat fucks my mind
Perhaps that is for the betterment of the world. He may have unfucked his jumper a little...but I still remember it's true form.
Every Hornets broadcast I've watched, their PBP team comments on how much MKG has been working on his shot.
He then never shoots.

Lowe/SVG podcast was really gud
good points about how maxed rashard lewis would be a normal deal in today's nba

How many of you wish a player on your team didn't take a bad shot?
MKG doesn't take bad shots at all. His jumpshooting numbers did make a huge improvement too but he's not out here feeling himself over it. Awesome to see out of a younger player.
Shooting from the rest of the team May help him more than anyone else.

By knux-future Go To Post120 million us dollars for Rashard Lewis is a bad contract no matter the CBA
bitch plz, modern nba has also-rans like brook lopez getting 20 mil a year
svg's argument:
-only significant addition in 2007, went from 40 wins to 52 wins and then to 59 wins (unless you think courtney lee or pietrus were more important lawl)
-allowed the team to play the 4 out offense and give dwight space to thrive
-phenomenal teammate who never complained about having to move up to pf
By Red Blaster Go To Postbitch plz, modern nba has also-rans like brook lopez getting 20 mil a yearIt was an overpay. but it allowed them to do what they wanted to do. For the most part the experiment paid off.

Also, Courtney Lee was pretty huge for the team. Sure he blew that lay up, but in general he was pretty good.
Anytime you go to several CF and make the Finals and on a given night this guy can be your best player, it's fine.
Still an overpay of course, but you can't really complain with the results all things considered.

We have like 3 guys who are too bitchmade to take open shots. Hollis passes up wide the fuck open 3s.
Wroten is the only guy who has the no fucks given gene.
By DY_nasty Go To PostSo basicallyamazing.
Rashard Lewis was a better signing than Carmelo Anthony
By knux-future Go To PostWe have like 3 guys who are too bitchmade to take open shots. Hollis passes up wide the fuck open 3s.I mean... there's the shit you get from guys like Gerald Henderson - who CAN shoot at an average 3pt clip, will somehow find themselves out there on the 3pt line, will fool their teammates into passing them the ball, then WON'T shoot which allows the defense to reset on the ball on the wing of all fucking places
Wroten is the only guy who has the no fucks given gene.
then there's guys who don't put themselves in position to be fuckups yet still ready to get the ball immediately and at the very least keep the ball moving efficiently. I'd be pissed if MKG sat out on the 3pt line but he's pretty much never out there anyways.
Meanwhile, Kemba with those 2k14 HoF difficulty shooting numbers...
By DY_nasty Go To PostSo basically

Melo's overpaid, but let's not pretend that Rashard Lewis is an actual first option in this league. Surround Melo with 09 Dwight and the league's top 3 defense, Melo won't look overpaid either.
I mean, he got to the CF in the same year Orlando made the finals and Orlando legit had much more talent.
Shit, replace Lewis with Melo and that's probably a 7 games finals series.
Is philly the only team that's really tanking this year? At least, the only team is definitely looking to tank from the jump?
By psychintellect Go To PostIs philly the only team that's really tanking this year? At least, the only team is definitely looking to tank from the jump? That has been the case for the last two years. The Lakers made moves that they thought would get them into the playoffs (despite the pick situation)...the Wolves, Knicks, and Bucks just got bodied by injuries.
So yeah Hinkie can't even tank good.
Sprained my ankle last night. No ballin' for a while. Probably could still make the Sixers roster though.

None of that is true. The lakers signed the best talent they could without sacrificing financial flexibility. Lakers went into tank mode after Kobe tore his shoulder and b Scott switched out his actual NBA players for rookies and no names in the SL.
Minny embraced the tank when Rubio sat out that long. Hinkie is the only dude whose plan A is to tank
Maybe Ainge was about dat life but Stevens said fuck that

Didn't Rubio get injured like week 1? They were in full tank mode by like December.
Lakers tanked by default.
Milwaukee legit was trying to get the 8th seed..its just that their brand of mediocrity and injuries hurt them that year forcing them to play a lot of dudes who weren't ready...or suuuucked,.
Tanking is more than just being god awful, it's PLANING to be god awful. The Bucks signed a bunch of has beens who never was in an attempt to build off their previous destruction as an 8th seed. Shit went south and they never recovered but it wasn't for not trying. The Lakers basically has done the same with their random FA signings the last few years (Boozer and Lin for example)./ Sure the guys they signed sucked ass and probably helped them catch more Ls but the idea behind it was not to be bad but to be good.
Hinkie legit has not signed a FA in his tenure it feels like, outside of the JimJammity Joe's from South Dakota State, Division III of the world. He actively wants to be bad ...for optionality or some shit. Boston has tried but Stevens is too stronk and Ainge loves his actual players too much to pawn them whereas Hinkie don't give a fuck (Noel your ass is so grass). The Knicks tanked the second half of the season with sitting Melo out but they also went into the season expecting things.

By psychintellect Go To PostDidn't Hinkie sign Jason Richardson?
naw..Jason was simply the last remnant of the Bynum trade. That happened before Hinkie. That trade also gave Hinkie a legit excuse for his tank fuckery, as it left us fucked up (we owed Miami and Orlando 1st for exmample..and Jrue (which we now know as Jrue's corpse) was the only thing worth a damn).
I am not super hyped at the current crop of shit that is the franchise, but I'm not about to front like I was not on board for a tank season or two....its just that I expected at least three guys that I could lie to myself about before we get back on the treadmill...we got Noel, who while he came on late in the season, I still worry about his health plus we are about to play him out of position so he may be fucked and Okafor, who has great post moves but will lead the league in shots blocked so he may be a relic of an old age...not exactly what I expected after 2 years of garbage basketball. Summer League made it worse as you can look around to other teams who were just as bad as we were and see that they have 5 prospects to care about.
That being said, Hinkie still has a chance to turn this around...I'm just tired of constantly having to look towards next year but MCW is what I thought he was...KJ was great but probably would have been overpaid if he actually got time, Turner is who he is, Hawes is doo doo, Thad deserves better sooner and we now know Jrue was banged up...so while I hate that we are still talking about tanking...nothing he's done trade or movewise pisses me off and I can't exactly yell at a guy for not giving Norris Cole the max either.
By Moris Go To PostIf Nerlens took the QO and left the following year, I couldn't be mad at him. Hinkie is a joke.
Various joke answers that may be true.
- like Hinkie is going to even give him the chance to...there are still second rounders to be had.
- Noel can't really risk turning down money with his frail ass body.
- Like Noel is going to not want to resign to our dynasty in the making yo, so what if he'd be 35 by the time we are anygood...

And some of these teams only end up tanking after early injuries. Not the same as out right tanking.
Like, Lakers will be bad this year. But they're not tanking. If the Suns turn out bad, they certainly weren't planing to be. Wolves COULD be bad this year with one or two key injuries, but they're not actually tanking.
I actually do think the Lakers are tanking. Its well disguised, but its there. That team won't be able to guard anyone. Even with Hibbert they won't be able to get stops or control pace. They'll have a legit shot at keeping their pick.
Even if something does happen to Ricky, the Wolves at least have a real backup point guard now with Miller (and I guess Tyus). They will not be trying to lose games this year. Zach LaVine will not be handling the ball.
By Dipro Go To Postthe offseason is way too long, then again so is the season.I'd actually prefer if the season started earlier to reduce the number of back-to-backs teams have to play.
I'm getting hyped for fall weather and football. Going to try to forget about basketball...try. Until October.
