Did you see our bench last year? You know things are bad when your impact player on the bench is Austin Rivers.

It was Crawford. Rivers had like 2 playoff moments and 40 awful games.

Also, Wes is even worse than you remember.

It's weird. The Clippers are much deeper and yet I feel like they're worse. The pieces don't seem to fit at all.

The only people of value we lost in the offseason were Big Baby and Barnes and neither of them were exactly crucial for us. I'd really like to retain Davis, but that doesn't seem likely right now. Regardless, adding Pierce is huge for us considering he knows how to play in Doc's system and is actually somebody who can hit last minute shots. Smith and Stephenson are definite question marks, but I prefer that over the definite garbage we have. I'm sure I'll be calling them both idiots by the end of the season, but there's definitely potential there.

Edit: I love Crawford, but he played pretty poorly last year after the injury. He never made an impact in the playoffs.

I like Pierce off the bench though that would leave only Lance, Wes or Smoove starting which is just gross. I think Barnes was actually a better option to start than any of their current players.

Pierce adds no defense on the wings which is what the team desperately needs (lance improves that but..).

Making last minute shots isn't a skill, it's randomness. Pierce will regress this coming year and of course he also will continue to get worse. He should be off the bench and playing like 20mpg.

Barnes was also their hustle guy, something they lack.

Like I said, individually all the players are better but I'm unconvinced of the fit.

I think it's killing him. But on the plus side, if he performs well, it's because IWMTB was right about him all along and if not, he was right about the Clippers all along. There's always a silver lining.
