Okafor's foot speed doesn't even compare to Towns imo
Still... its always worth noting that Kentucky had WCS too. Two GOOD bigs in college isn't fair.

As much as I love Vucevic and the potential they have, I ain't got time for that.
Didn't know that was a joke, good.
Speaking of Vucevuc. He always shat one the heat. Multiple 30 point games, 20 rebounds type of shit.
Whiteside locked his ass up and held him to 3 points when they matched up. https://youtu.be/b1WE1FJsLl0
The fact that we got a legit center out of nowhere after needing someone viable at that position for so long and filled our second biggest hole at PG with Dragic. Maybe there's hope.

Towns is better as a prospect than Okafor no question
Okafor is still gud though, real question is how he'll handle doubles in the NBA--if he can't pass out of them he'll be Kevin Seraphin good

Towns had WCS but numbers don't lie. He can be a garbageman and get Orebs and be super Tyson chandler.
No question if Oka is a 20/10 guy Towns will be the same with a lower usage and better on D. Don't think he's Duncan incarnate but being a raw Timmay is pretty amazing.

In important offseason news, YNB is representing the Thunder at the draft lottery. I'm excited to see his choice of clothing.

Chris Lavert is returning to Michigan for his senior year. Woulda went late first round but he has a long injury history already.
He'll get his degree before he leaves so at least he isn't delusional about how his future could play out.

also went to HS with Embiid.

I wouldn't be upset with any of the top 4 guys though, maybe Okafor.

So the Wolves don't like Winslow or Mudiay. I can't wait for Flip's reaction to the 4th pick in a draft they think has three guys in it. One week!

Too many unknown variables. Does KD come back at a high level post injury? Is Westbrook going to defer again after cementing himself as a 1A caliber player? Is Donovan any good as a pro coach? Can the Thunder make a successful playoff run next year?
Taking all the bias out of it, if I'm KD, how we play next year is a huge part of the puzzle. The roster should be the best he's had since the Harden Finals year, so a chip there would obviously make an extension there very appealing because it means everythings finally come together and they've evolved. If not? Then that's a bad sign unless injuries somehow played a part. And there's no guarantee that an MVP caliber, alpha male personality like Westbrook is going to re-up.
At the same time, assuming they don't chip, the question with the Wiz will be if they can have a third straight year of exceeding post season expectations. As well, there will be other suitors.
One thing that's for sure though is that Stars have to be more open minded. Dwight tried to fuck around with the major market game and the Rockets situation moving forward looks worrisome. He didn't even CONSIDER the Wiz as a potential spot--that sort of arrogance gets you what you deserve. There's a lot of up and coming talent in smaller markets that stars would do well to look at.

If we're healthy, we'll be a 60-win team. If not, it really muddies the waters.

If KD re-signs, there's no way YNB leaves.
At the same time, assuming they don't chip, the question with the Wiz will be if they can have a third straight year of exceeding post season expectations. As well, there will be other suitors.I do think the Wiz are the most likely destination, but they're behind us at the moment. Our roster is stacked. We're still the 8th-youngest team in the league so we should continue to improve and evolve for years.

He didn't even CONSIDER the Wiz as a potential spot–that sort of arrogance gets you what you deserve. There's a lot of up and coming talent in smaller markets that stars would do well to look at.Being open-minded is one of KD's strong suits. I don't think he'll hesitate to re-up in OKC if he feels like it's the right place for him. At the end of the day it'll be a basketball decision, but personal comfort also plays a role for a guy like him.
I disagree that Westbrook is a lock to re-up if he hasn't chipped by the time he's a free agent. His most successful regular season, uncoincidentally, came in a year where KD was mostly out of the picture. That can't have slipped his mind. And sure, you're willing to sacrifice individual accolades for team success--but it'll have been 8-9 years by the point that Westbrook is a free agent and he'll have been ringless. KD or no, it's naive to think that he can't go off and win 60 games elsewhere given the sort of teams that will be recruiting him at that point--with promises of him as a first option.
Other than that, I agree that OKC is in the drivers seat, but like I said a lot will depend on if you meet or do not meet expectations next season.

He embraces the role, but he isn't capable of carrying a team to contention by himself. He just wants to win, and his best chance of doing that will be with the Thunder if KD re-ups.

When you add in the fact that he and KD appear to get along personally, I consider it a near-lock that he comes back if KD commits.

well yea, but teams aren't going to recruiting him to run a scrub team, they may already have a 1B option or 2nd option/quality team ready for him to slot into.
And the Pelicans issue is more roster than coaching imo, but removing Monty should help

Depends on KD's health, if KD stays, that new coach, how Presti handles the roster.
YN is far from a lock I think.
