At the very least the NBA better fucking punish the Clippers if they really withheld info like that. We deserve all of their draft picks for the length of the piece of shit's contract.
This is fucking amazing.
The change of mind, the smileys, the title of that topic, everything.

I don't understand why you think it's the Clipper's responsibility to tell the Mavs? He is a free agent and until they sign him they have nothing to do with him... Players tell teams they might sign with them all the time. The NBA needs to get rid of this dead time between negotiations and signings and maybe fine the shit outta DJ but punishing the Clippers? Not seeing the just cause of it

They withheld the info to deliberately damage the Mavs. They knew the piece of shit was coming back and said nothing. The only reason for that is to maliciously harm another franchise.
Not to mention the shady shit he pulled with his agent.
It's not a legal matter, but a matter of breaking the gentlemen agreement that kept the system working.
Cuban won't win in court but he can get other owners together to pressure for a rule change, since I doubt any team wants to be in the same situation in the future.

Lesson learned today -- Don't go around flaunting how you would have tanked the season if not for a certain transaction...that technically didn't even happen. Or say how you can't think of a better 2 and 5 to play with out here telling lies.
Nothing could be officially done until today. Mavs in their usual ways decided to be cocky before it officially happened and got got.
stay free cuban

franchises withhold information from each other all the time.
that's like saying the Suns could sue the Spurs for letting them clear capspace... Dan is Cuban's buddy so. Anyways I think it was shitty and the NBA should reform it's signing period but under the rules they didn't do anything "wrong"

I mean that should have happened already... why have a deadzone where you can negotiate but can't sign?
Mavs, Cuban, Parsons...
lmao no words.
Hope you're all doing well. See ya when the season starts.

By KingGondo Go To PostStarting to get worried the Mavs will rashly offer Kanter a max just to fuck with us.What does that matter? KD is gone next year. You probably should hope Dallas goes all in on Kanter. Make the long arduous process a bit easier to rebuild.
By Branduil Go To Post"Worried"Supposedly we put forth an offer in the low $14 million range. Most teams are operating under the assumption that the Thunder will match any offer.
The only teams that could offer him a max now are the Mavs and Blazers.

I am willing to bet the Mavs will go hack-a-Jordan for the whole game the next time they play each other.

Free agent forward Gerald Green has reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Miami Heat, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
Seriously which free agent available right now is even worthy of more than 10 minutes per game? Mavs are so boned. Future is so uncertain. We were so lucky to have someone like Dirk on the team. Probably won't ever have anyone near his talent play for the Mavs ever again :(
wow Captain Jackass the infamous Dallas fan from youtube who would shit on the Rockets while wearing a mask posted a vid... mask free lol dude's lost it about Jordan. Of course he throws in some Rockets/Houston jabs, but it looks like he has a new favorite team to make videos about.

Just so you know, verbal contracts are legally binding in the States, as long as you can prove that there was a verbal agreement in court. I don't doubt that the Mavs will be able to prove it.
Also, combine that with the weirdly public interference from Clips personnel & players... this is straight up tampering.
The only issue is whether or not Mark Cuban wants to spend resources challenging the status quo in court.

i was saying days ago that pierce wasn't the type that was just gonna sit there and sign for a franchise that would turn to complete shit without securing a signing--and the clips just fucking sat there and aint say shit while the world was burning down around them

I don't doubt that the Mavs will be able to prove it.It would be binding... except during the moratorium period it is illegal, under the CBA, to even technically agree, to a contract verbally. So the Mavs would be admitting to violating the CBA and opening a whole other can of worms.

When everyone was suggesting the clippers kidnapped DJ and were scared to let him to talk to the Mavs, I pointed out it was the other way around.
You don't kidnap a 7 foot guy in his own house with a deck of cards. He wanted the reinforcements because he was too bitchmade to talk to Cuban and Parsons. Shit was clear as day.
