Can't wait til Mitch spins this shit on how Kosta Koufos was the BPA and he's who he was really after in the first place.
I don't even understand how you fuck up that bad if you are the Lakers. You have endless cap-space, promising young talent, and an attractive area to live in.
Like what the hell are they saying at these meetings to fuck up so bad.

They're not moving on mid tier guys, putting all their eggs in the LMA/DeAndre basket.
In all seriousness I have to believe that Brook being here played a role in this. So Knick fans should be glad that Brook is loyal.

Lakers probably couldn't even get Jack Nicholson to sign with them for season tickets at this point.

Any decent wings left? The Knicks should have a decent amount of money left if RoLo signs for the reported $12/$13 million. They should have anywhere from $6 million to $9 million left to play with.

People are talking about getting David Lee too? How would that work, I'm pretty sure the warriors aren't taking Calderon.

Find a team with cap room or non guaranteed deals, take back a 2nd rounder
@ramonashelburne: A call is just a call… but heard the Lakers did call Rajon Rondo today to touch base.kei

Rondo playing with Kobe would be fucking amazing. Wonder how many games it would take before they get involved in a fist fight.
@ramonashelburne: The Lakers second meeting with LaMarcus is over. At this point, we'll just leave it at that :)
4hr meeting. wtf is this fuckery.

Although I suppose if I troll too hard I could invoke the injury god's wrath again.

You guys seriously can't be this dense lol.
Knicks in the east with 31 year old Melo are far more attractive than Lakers in the west with 36 year old broken Kobe.
No ones going there to make friends. Even dudes like Monroe and Ellis picking more competitive teams when given the option.
Kobe's old and broken, Mitch should have kept us afloat but refused to take on long term contracts, so here we are as far as FA's go.
Blaming Kobe is just as Jeanie said, a pass the buck cop out of long term FO ineptitude. He kept us competitive for 16 years, FO couldn't find their own Kawhi to fleece in that time.

I mean, after drafting Timmy, the Spurs found Manu, Tony, traded for Kawhi, plus tons of impact players Inbetween with late picks.
Name one guy LAL has drafted in Kobe's entire tenure outside of broken knees Bynum that LA could have transitioned with. We've had 19 years to find an all star in the second round and couldn't find one. SAS found several. That's why they're still competitive and alluring, and we're a god forsaken trash heap.

Trading the picks doesn't keep you competitive.
SAS isn't competitive in 2015 because they got FA's. It's because they drafted and traded well. Something LAL hasn't done.
I'm all for the tanking strategy in 2 deep drafts. But then don't blame Kobe when you can't procure a FA because you've been openly aiming for the gutter for multiple years and don't have a single proven player on your roster worth a damn.
On top of which, the reason we're paying Hill instead of Pau is because the FO alienated him through relentless trade rumors year after year.
As I said, I'm fine with Russell, Clarkson (their one good late pick get) and Randle growing. That's a good course. Slowly and steady development. But that's not attractive to FA's, understandably,
Waitaminute... so theoretically Mavs could have DeAndre AND LMA?
Jesus Christ.

The Spurs, Suns and Mavs are "out front" to sign LaMarcus Aldridge, according to Sam Amick of USA Today.
The Mavs are interesting here, but they're likely way behind the Spurs and Suns. Aldridge is having dinner with Pat Riley and he's already met with the Lakers. Hopefully, LaMarcus comes to a decision soon, but he's certainly getting his share of meetings and free meals.

I just answered your question wasn't saying they were good long term moves.
but the Lakers have almost always been built by trades and FA
