#notbuckingaround is one of the finest hashtags the internet has produced.
Its been confirmed the Knicks didn't offer Monroe the Max as had been rumored. They still have a meeting with LMA with a lot of signs pointing to RoLo being plan B. If they get Lopez they might just go after a SF with the remaining cap space and move Melo to the 4
Monroe will sign a three year deal, with a player option on the third year, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Time for everyone who isn't Portland or San Antonio to give up on LMA and target the small names, they know if they don't sign before LMA they lose some leverage. Give Rolo his 3 year/36 mil Mitch.
Yeah Knicks were never giving him max money. I think they need to go hard at Lopez now.

Knicks have to make some strong presentations with Jordan and Aldridge today, with Robin Lopez in the mix too.
I like the Afflalo signing a lot. Hopefully he has a good amount left in the tank.
I guess it's now going to be Phil and Mitch going hard in the Robin Lopez sweepstakes.

Begley says they already spoke to RoLo and there's mutual interest
Milwaukee gonna be real deep next season if they stay healthy. That starting 5 is something fearsome.
Shame about MCW running the point for another 2 years.
If Knicks don't land LMA... they literally don't have a single body at PF/C at the moment. where u at masta phil
Meanwhile...
Nothing like trading away depth and prospects for B-tier free agents.

Been saying all along that Monroe is a bad fit for the triangle.
If he can get either LMA, DAJ, or Rolo that would be a successful FA. But I want Rolo in LA dammit!
Edit: Dammit!

LA & NY basically have no shot at DAJ or LMA at this point, but I don't see LA giving up until both are signed somewhere.

I'm pretty sure she is actually a Knicks fan though. Only roots for the Bucks because of dad

dude is the definition of an average center
straight up default myplayer on 2k ish
He can pass and defend the rim, valuable skill sets for a center.

He's a super role player who stays within his comfort zone and doesn't demand touches.
He's a good defensive center with enough offense to not get phased out by small ball.
Greg Monroe is literally the perfect fit for New York. He's a poor man's Pau Gasol.
According to Howard Beck, both the Knicks and Lakers offered the max. Monroe chose the Bucks because they are more playoff ready. LA/NY getting those #youdon'tqualify slaps every hour at this point.

RoLo is like a top 5 at rim defender, great in the pick and roll, great rebounder and knows how to pass. Plus he's a glue guy. Portland replaced JJ Hickson with him and won 20 more games next year.
I'd throw $60 million at RoLo way before I'd even consider giving Bropez that money.

LA blew their loads early. NY still has meetings with both scheduled. Chances are slim, but maybe Phil can work some magic
Greg Monroe's defense was a huge reason why I didn't want him in LA, would love RoLo. I think I might prefer to roll the dice on Biyombo than pay Monroe a 2 year max so he can fish for another max after that.
I mean the triangle essentially guarantees that LMA can have as many mid range and post up opportunities as he wants and Phil won't pressure him to shoot 3's or discuss glamour and big city living. Just like Pop keeping it simple about basketball, so will Phil. And it's the east with a still near prime Melo so big jumps are possible.
Still a long shot though.

Yea, because the one thing Aldridge really lacked in Portland was an offense catered to his skillset. Triangle gonna make that happen though!

I mean, he should stay in Portland. But he's exploring, so there's something missing. Dame Lillard regressing so badly didn't help. Or maybe it's an FO thing?
A Melo/Aldridge duo probably gets you in the playoffs assuming both stay healthy, then next summer NY is a much more enticing destination? That's how I sell it if I'm Phil

Or maybe it's an FO thing?Olshey and Stotts have only been at the helm for 3 seasons and the last two were really good for him, and last season was devastated by injuries. So no, I don't see that writing on the wall especially given his comments about Olshey in public and through the grapevine. It's the NBA... if someone like LaMarcus had issues with Olshey and/or Stotts, we would know about it. Shit like that doesn't stay hidden, the league is an open book.

I also highly doubt Damian having a 2-3 month slump is reason enough for someone of his caliber to bolt. Like if that's concerning to LaMarcus, then he for sure wouldn't want to play with Tony Parker or Bledsoe/Knight, no?
Also, lol:
Knicks supposedly considering offering Kanter a max, which we'll of course match.
Just get this shit over with guys. It'll be less painful that way.

Dudes like Marc Gasol and Kevin Love aren't even entertaining meetings and LMA is seeing absolutely everyone.
Something is up, clearly.
Lakers got lazy. They thought just showing some banners and talking about Hollywood would attract everyone.
Didn't do their due diligence, didn't prep Kobe on what to say, didn't have an actual solid basketball plan to present. It's time for Jim Buss to step down.

The #Mavs were hoping 2 talk bout Tyson in their meeting with LMA, but the #Suns were the ones talking bout Tyson in their meeting with LMA.

Or there's no proven talent on the roster and an over the hill injury riddled Kobe taking up a 3rd of the cap.

Ya, but people complaining about what Kobe said, or discussions of outside basketball activities shows lack of preparation.
If you know you have a bad basketball situation to present, and you're putting all your eggs in the FA basket, you better damn well be completely prepared with the best presentation ever.
