The weird thing will be what happens if the Kings strike out on every FA.
Like what is your season PR plan? Does Vivek come to a game?
Because they're doing this free agent recruiting, and I doubt the Coach or Cousins comes into the pitch.
"We'd love you here, Wes. The fans would love you."
"Where Boogie and the coach?"
"...Couples counseling?"

By Forever Go To PostHe'll take what he can get and defend it because Phil da gawd.
That mug of D Will was hilarious. But no, an overpaid PG is never the answer in the triangle. Really have no clue what Phil does. He blinked and now the cupbard is bare.
For Lakers, I'm with everyone else here. Rolo is the only guy I really want at about 4/50 ish. Maybe 4/60.
Seeing a lineup of Russell/Clarkson/Kobe/Randle/Rolo would be fun if nothing else.

By pilonv1 Go To Posthttp://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/2015/07/02/david-west-free-agency-spurs-warriors/29605207/Honestly the guy deserves a ton of my respect. Was a great person in New Orleans and like the article said, he really is one of the few players that will put his money where his mouth is. Turning down serious money to sign on the cheap to try and win a ring.
West & Bellineli, what an offseason that would be
Not sure how he would fit in GS, but San Antonio he could be a good fit.
Btw - there are a bunch of people who agreed to deals today that will be eligible for trades within the next year. I still think Love ends up as the odd man out throughout the year and eventually ends up traded when he's riding the pine during fourth quarters. Verajao is coming back to create an even more cluttered mess in their front court.
In the same way that Hinkie waits for opportunities to acquire draft picks, Phil and Mitch have to do the same with "overpaid" players playing diminished roles on stacked teams.

But the Cavs do have way too many bigs. Thompson, Love, Lebron, Moz, Varajeo all play PF or C.

JR SMITH
Forget who, but someone said he's regretting opting out cause no one is interested. Not a money issue, no one wants to give him years. Cavs might be able to get him back for cheaper than the deal he opted out of lol.
By fertygo Go To PostWe only had LMA and Monroe debacle left? What? You arent interested in the Kendrick Perkins sweepstakes?
Just saw that Kings trade. What in the blue hell?!. Save Boogie Mitch and fleece the Kings. There's no saving that franchise. And I thought it was good idea that Sac kept their team. I'm having 2nd thoughts on that....

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'd rather have PDA back running the show.
By etiolation Go To PostThe weird thing will be what happens if the Kings strike out on every FA.This would be extremely appropriate. But what's more likely to happen is that we sign Wes to a multi-year deal (and we won't get Monta or Rondo) and he plays like 20 games next season and we trade his ass the following season and therefore won't have anything to show for trading away all of our front court depth, multiple 1st round picks, and a second player drafted with a Top 8 pick in the last 3 years.

I think that might actually go through
By ratcliffja Go To Posthttp://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=orvn84cDeli is a RFA so it would have to be a S+T right now. But if it was later, he becomes a BYC player which complicates things making it harder depending on what he actually earns.

NBA Trade Machine isn't updated for this season, unfortunately.
Protip to Brandy and Knicks-SL&ENT: try to contain yourselves after D-Will drops 20 in a game one night cuz he'll disappear for 2 weeks afterwards.

Stauskas is gonna be good for Philly next year. We all know it.
The Sixers might actually win more games than the Kings. Canaan/Stauskas/Covington/Noel/Okafor. Noel covers for all of bad defenders and Okafor, shooters and Brett Brown makes them into a passable offense. 20th ranked offense and 15th ranked defense will have them fighting for the playoffs and that swap.

Its being reported on knicks forums Afflalo to the knicks for 16 mil 2 year contract. If its real that is an old world contract without the crazy years.
I think that Affalo contract is the first sensible contract we have seen this FA period.
Knicks did good on this one.

Yeah its a player option too on the second year
That's a lot lower than the 3 years $36/$38million that woj reported a couple of days ago.

Yep, but that was this year.
Afflalo wanted $12 mil, gets 8. Not bad by NY especially if he could recapture his Denver/Orlando form. Good for Afflalo too.

those two wouldn't fit well on the court. Lopez is not likely part of the Greg Monroe plan.

I haven't seen Monroe play much at all, where would the bad fit be, spacing?
looks like no matter what either the mavs or the clips are going to be some shit next year
just gotta find out which one
I'm sure DAJ is returning--paul wouldn't have went there without that assurance

With West apparently using NY to increase his price (lol @ the 360) Knicks going to need a PF who can defend. Wonder what's out there because nothing in-house for NY. And no, no more starting Jason Smith.

Monroe operates around the basket offensively and has been hindered because he was paired with a defensive center who also needs to be around the basket to score. Monroe should to be paired with a stretch 4 who can defend the rim.

Lopez is the type center that would let Melo play more minutes at the 4
By Zeus Ex Machina Go To Postthose two wouldn't fit well on the court. Lopez is not likely part of the Greg Monroe plan. That and the Knicks can't afford both of them. Knicks had $27 million to $29 million in cap space and now they're down to $19 million to $21 million. Monroe is gong to take up $15 million of the cap space, which leaves the Knicks with either $4 or $6 million to play with.
And after seeing Asik get a $12mill AAV, there's no way RoLo signs for less than $10 million.

Your right about the numbers. The only caveat I would throw in there is if the knicks can pull a sign and trade for 1 of them (or another player to go over the cap). Or a player takes that Afflalo deal, then next year opt out and resign for an increased contract.
Monroe is underrated. Concerned about defense, but I like the offensive potential of Jabari and Monroe
