RT @ZachLowe_NBA: Some rival execs beginning to operate under assumption LMA to Spurs is happening. Dallas considered frontrunner for Wes Matthews.
I should've brought my bottle of Macallan to work.

Word is Mills has to be traded still to get lma. Unsure without cap known.
He should be easy to dump though.

... I don't get that. There were playoff teams reportedly willing to give him that money that weren't in Canada, some even more. He had visits left, what blew him away to goto Toronto?

Must say the Pop/Bud West-East connection looks a lot better than the Morey/Hinkie one right about now. Green, Splitter and LMA moves.. Man, not looking forward to getting abused by Aldridge 4 times each regular season in the Southwest.
By Dissonance Go To PostCarroll a big upgrade over Terrence fucking Ross. Ship that guy to the Knicks or something.No one wants him. ;_;

The heartbreak will be worse when he signs with the Spurs.
LMA pls
don't do this to me

By reilo Go To PostRT @WojYahooNBA: Lakers didn't make strong impression in Aldridge meeting, sources say. Spurs can close on him. LMA expected to make decision fairly soon.Ugh, most of us here agree that we are rebuilding and don't need to go into win-now mode and sign a 30 year old allstar.

As a FA LA isn't desirable 1 year of old Kobe and as far as these guys are concerned all our young guys could be huge busts.
I was hoping we'd slightly overpay some mid level guys like Wes, RoLo or Gerald Green

DeMarre Carroll planned on meeting with 4 or 5 teams. But after just one w/ Raptors, he was tweeting "We the North!"

Meh ... realistic expectations of the seasons aside.
I don't think it's a good look to continuously swing and miss on FA's.
By reilo Go To PostI said Lakers not Lakers fans.Speaking of Macallan, had a couple shots of Macallan select oak yesterday. That was pretty good for its price.
jeez, I'm not sure Hawks even make it out of the 1st round next season w/o Carroll. Congrats to the Raptors, I guess, but aren't they in more desperate need of competent bigs?
Wow. That's fucked up. Was looking forward to these. :(

Who cares? We have 16 banners and promising rookies/2nd year players. We have plenty of time to rebuild and not worry about what nonsense people write or say. We haven't gotten a before their prime FA superstar for 20 years. That was when we could offer more $ than the home team under different CBA rules.
The entire thing is overblown. Build a contender and FA's will flock. Look at the Spurs or us in 03-04.

Lakers striking out doesn't matter other than sensationalist anti-Kobe confirmation bias.
The Knicks though? With a 30+ year old Melo, no draft picks this year would be fucked if they struck out

Don't want LMA, too old. Give me DJ or nobody in terms of AAA FA's this year. Hoard the cash for next year. Plus, I like the young squad.

I agree. Which is why I question sending everything we can including Hollywood at LMA.
By Mamba Go To PostI just don't want Jordan. I can't handle his ft shooting.Me neither. Jordan is a mid level guy being paid as an allstar, and yeah his FT shooting made Dwight looks like Curry.

You're not getting anybody good if you're still trotting out Wes Johnson and Jordan Hill.
20+ teams will have max cap space next summer
Still won't get super hyped about it. Caroll looked good in Bud's system...over here? not overly confident. Probably after this amir johnson is gone, and lou gonna want his money after winning 6th man, so he probably wont be back either. But hey, something to get excited for initially

They'll get David Lee
Spurs are a ridiculous team. They could go for 73 wins with Aldridge, but wont because they're going to stay healthy instead.

idk, the knicks made some early moves and seem to be waiting. I think they offered guys like West, Monroe, Brewer, and beverly lesser money deals than what we're seeing currently.
The best thing to do in that situation is let other teams blow their loads and then swoop in for cheaper deals since other teams won't have cap to compete.
