By thekad Go To PostMamba doesn't know that teams can renounce qualifying offers either. The circus of stupidity continues.Of course they can. Never said otherwise. They also have to renounce it before one is signed, however.
I just didn't think they'd bother with CoJo. They have Patty mills and I didn't think they'd bother paying him what he'll probably get in this year's offseason.
It's just funny that Lowe writes exactly what I write and you refuse to take the L.

lol it's hilarious seeing people in here shitting on the Kings FO and Vivek over this. For once, they weren't the ones fucking things up. Karl obviously thought he was the coach, the GM, the VP, and part owner of this team if he really believed we brought him in here so he can throw away our best player for some trash pieces he last had in Denver. Vlade's still trying to let DMC and Karl resolve their own shit but if Vivek and others believe the relationship is truly that tainted beyond repair then I fully support whatever happens with Karl.
By etiolation Go To Post1. No trade proposal of any merit existed. Not just that it wasn't close. The report of a "framework of a trade" is false.Or maybe Vivek talked about both.
2. That is a weasely way for Woj to say a job is offered without a contract. Cal's tweets report that Vivek and him discussed players the Kings had and were about to draft. That's the nature of their discussions. Not coaching the team.
This is what is done: Vivek and Cal talk about WCS and Cousins. So you have "VIVEK AND CAL TALKING", then you throw in that a NBA team knows it would have to overpay to lure Calipari and that's where you get that magical 10 million number. You then throw in "interest in front office and coaching" which is entirely made up.
You then put out something dishonest. In exchange, Woj gets to keep the source feeding him horseshit for when that source has real news.
Why this is so? Why does it get repeated in tweets by others? Because it's new media. Accuracy doesn't matter to the press nor the audience.
It feeds off the audience's prejudice that is built by a narrative. That's why you'll believe it, because you believe the Kings front office is literally a circus. That is the narrative and thus the prejudice. The Kings FO has been chaotic, but not an actual circus. There are limits to believability.
We actually have video evidence of vivek being a moron in last year's draft room. Not sure why any of this is a surprise.
Why do this to yourself as a fan? Clippers fans never sat back and defended Sterling. They understood he was a cheap clown (ignoring the racist stuff in this part of the convo) and that the front office was a mess (coaches having to sue him for their own pay!).
Vivek is also a clown. It's better for you to accept this as reality.
Think about it this way. Which is more likely? Vivek and the Kings front office being clown shoes, or Woj feeding lies or repeating lies given to him?
Not a hard choice.

Spurs discussing sending Splitter to Cavs for Haywood's unguaranteed contract.
2 weird things about this.
1. Why would the Cavs make their move for another big center? they have Moz, Varajeo, and Thompson and presumably Love. Weird use of money...
2. It would require the Spurs adding more salary by rules, which probably means Mills or Diaw is gone. So that means Spurs can now keep Green too but it comes at a cost like I said earlier (Mills or Diaw being dumped).

I'll be hanging myself around 3 if anyone needs me.
I hope Vlade tells Vivek to sit down and stfu. All either of these signings does is bring more toxicity into the locker room and hinder the development of McLemore, Stauskas, and McCallum.

I am not defending Vivek. I don't believe I've ever said a kind word about Vivek here.
I am attacking the nature of the reports, the falsehood of these reports and their intent.
It is possible to know that both Vivek has meddled too much and that these reports are false and agenda driven.

Not sure the Kings are that interested in Rondo due to injuries.
I expect them to offer Danny Green as much money as they can. Failing that, they may pursue Corey Brewer. I do expect an offer to Ellis as well, and Rodney Stuckey, too.
They can't afford Green and Ellis, so it's sort of a tier system. You try to sign one of the defensive wigs or scoring small guards, and then try to get the plan B option cheap on the other.

By diehard Go To PostOnce upon a time i really wanted Derrick Williams and Evan Turner. True story.I was so wrong about Derrick Williams. Watching him play up close for a couple years, it's pretty obvious his sophomore year at Arizona was a fluke as far as his jumper goes. He couldn't really finish around the basket and didn't have the handle to play small forward (it's worse than Beasley, who isn't much of a 3, either). He just sucks.
That dunk against Duke doe.
but yeah Derrick Williams is the guy who made me realize I would be an awful NBA scout.

By knux-future Go To PostThat dunk against Duke doe.I think scouting is even different from only four years ago. Statistics have caught up some for the college game and also for translating Euroleague numbers and I think it's slightly easier to tell now for prospects. Like, Ricky Rubio was one of the most hyped prospects in his class based largely off that Olympic game against America. That'd probably be different now.
but yeah Derrick Williams is the guy who made me realize I would be an awful NBA scout.
alas
Williams would score 25 points off the bench one night.
And then nothing for two weeks. He fits in the NBA, but on a small contract. At least until he establishes consistency or something. If he rebounded more then he'd have a solid career.

I don't bring up Sterling. I bring up Clipper fans in the Sterling days. They understood owner was cheap. They didn't defend it, just accepted it. The Kings FO has been a mess and handled the Cousins-Karl thing pretty fucking shitty. This is undeniable and yet, here you are, trying to deny it.

I like Russell and the reports, but I don't follow college ball much. I definitely thought, "Yea this means no Rondo" on draft night. More so than I thought, "Maybe we have a big targeted in FA"
Also feel I should warn Samurai that Rondo in Sacto is still a possibility.
