If I'm Marc Gasol, do I want ANY part of Houston/GS/LAC/OKC next season? I know he's got ties to the city, but Pau loves Phil and Fish and Memphis has hit their ceiling with their core. Jump ship to NY and capitalize on the large Spanish speaking market and play in a system tailor made for your skill-set.

I'm looking at SG/SFs for the Knicks... who are some versatile defenders who can score beside Matthews and Carroll whom can be plugged into the starting SG spot? Not much...

I been watching these videos of the knicks picks and yeah Phil can pull a trade. Grant looks way better than Hardaway at the same age.
Also watching KP, he needs to gain strength. I didn't like the pick yesterday but as a "post Melo" pick it wasn't bad. Almost all of his problems is he's skinny but NBA conditioning will fix that in a year or two. Until then he can just be a stretch 4.

KNUX, this is all your fault.
Had Hinkie taken Hezonja like he should have, Phil could have had Okafor and all would be right with the world.
Damn Philadelphia 70 Centers (trademark Moris, I think).
So we're clear. Phil signed Melo for the ticket sales and then put the team through a fire-sale, picked up 6 rookies, and is setting up a team for the future (still to be determined, if in a good way).
He could have thrown the kitchen sink at a team like Brooklyn and asked for JJ and Bropez, but he's too smart for that kind of shit.
Memphis ain't ever winning shit with this core. They've got to keep Conley and Gasol and tear the entire thing down or Gasol has to jump ship.

They only really lack shooters. Add some through trades/FA if they have some money.
You make it sound like they're the Hawks or Knicks, They probably looked the best against the Warriors but their lack of shooting screwed them over.
and if Gasol's reason for leaving Memphis is because they won't win, why the fuck would he even come within 200 miles of New York?

Randolph can't shoot 3's and Tony Allen can't shoot period. You can't get away with playing Allen or Randolph in playoff games alongside Marc. That team has to blow up that starting unit and leave just Conley and Marc and rebuild.
One or two shooters won't help them when 3 of their starters can't hit 3's and Conley isn't elite at it either
when does nba tv start showing classic games? they normally do it every off season.

About being drafted by the Nets, Vaulet said: "I have been told that this is a beautiful organisation. And it's one of the best in the NBA. So I will work very hard this summer to meet the expectations."Well someone lied to this kid but we still have a nice arena and training center.
Ceilings:
Towns: God (Way bigger Al Horford with three point shot early on in career, multiple MVPs)
Russell: Lillard after public shaming transforms Lillard into an OK defender
Okafor: Boogie
Kristaps: Channing Frye with good defense
Mario: JR Smith's never realized potential
WCS: Larry Sanders w/o depression
Mudiay: Deron pre-injuries
Stanley Johnson: Hmm...
Frank: Channing Frye
Winslow: Iguodala with great interior scoring (several time all-star)
But some of these are more likely than others to be reached...

GSW made one adjustment and Memphis proceeded to look like amateur hour for 3 straight games.
It's the East, NY, and the most successful system at utilizing post talent maybe ever. Vs. Banging your head against the wall with a poorly constructed team going up against 4 or 5 offensive juggernauts hoping to keep the score at 80 ppg to have any chance of winning.
They've got as much chance of making it out of the confernce as Atlanta did circa 2008-2012. There are just too many better teams in their same conference
I'm not suggesting NY will chip before Memphis. Neither will chip. But if that's the case, why not live in NY, with a system better suited to your talent in a cakewalk ass conference for 8 months out of the year.
I barely followed college and European basketball this year because I was working on a really time consuming statistical project instead so I only knew the top guys from this draft (and them not that much), so I don't have any thoughts on McCollough, sorry.

Ainge's Attempt To Get JustiseDanny Ainge said the Boston Celtics were "probably offering too much" to trade into the lottery despite having all of their attempts turned down.
The Celtics were reportedly targeting Justise Winslow as high as No. 4 and tried to grab him again when he was available at No. 9. Winslow was selected at No. 10 by the Miami Heat.
"Our probably biggest plan was to try to use a lot of our assets, a lot of our picks, to try to consolidate picks and to move up in the draft," he told 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich. "We spent a few weeks trying to prepare for that and do that, knowing that nothing really gets done until draft day, when people are making their final offers, their best offers and so forth. We were very close to consolidating picks and moving up in the draft on a couple of different occasions, and it just didn't happen.
"In hindsight, the next day, it's probably a good thing. We were probably going to spend too much to do what we needed to do," Ainge said. "This morning I wake up, and I'm refreshed that we got guys that we like but also that we didn't overspend for some of the players that were in the draft – actually just basically one player we were chasing that we thought we had a realistic chance at."
Ainge hinted his offer might have included at least one of Brooklyn's unprotected future first round picks, but the Charlotte Hornets were set on drafting Frank Kaminsky.
"(The future picks) are worth a lot, (but) I think the draft is probably the time where they're least valuable, simply because people get so caught up in players," Ainge said on the radio. "Without mentioning names, there are some players that were drafted at certain spots (by teams) that turned down lots of draft picks that I just don't think was smart on their part."
"But I think our assets have value. On draft day, typically those are hard deals to move. People get so caught up and get so in love with a specific player that that player in their minds becomes bigger than life."
Almost caught Ainge slippin'
Still need dy to respond pls.

Incompetent management? Memphis hasn't made a single right decision since drafting Conley. They've been treadmilling in the worst way since that move. When Jeff Green and Teyshaun Prince are your two biggest acquisitions in 4 years, let's stop talking about Memphis having competent management.
Literally their good FO moves stopped when Jerry West stopped advising them and moved over to GS (coincidentally when they made a bunch of great decisions). When Phil has the perfect one-step-away-from-contending-talent and does nothing to improve the roster or address needs for 4 years, you can compare the two.
Plenty of teams cap out as second round fodder. Ain't no shame that, the shame is holding on to delusions which is what Marc would do if he stuck around with that core for 4 more years
