picked BPA?
I might have preferred Portis, but most advanced models project Kelly quite well. His reputation is worse than reality by a fair margin. Take a look at Kelly's rookie season and Wiggins rookie season stats Kansas and tell me what the difference is other than Wiggins getting more time? They are very similar players. Kelly is like a more raw version of Wiggins. He'll have plenty of time to develop off the bench for us. Wall turns most SF's into gawds.
By Slaent Made Me Change My Username Go To PostI find it hilarious how much Laker nation is optimistic because they had a good Draft. You are YEARS, dare I even say decades from contending for a championship. You're in the West, not the shitty East.
We've got 16 and usually interchange decades of dominance with decades of near futility. I'm fine with chipping and being a contender until the 2012 season, rebuilding for 5-10 years than doing it again.
But if you think were the Knicks or Sacramento and are going to fritter away lottery pick after lottery pick for 15 years treadmilling as a 9th seed. I don't buy it.
By Vahagn Go To PostHe could be the 2nd best player of this draft class next year, or 5 years from now and I wouldn't be surprised.
This mistake is going to haunt Phil
Fucking Hinkie though. Can't believe he took Okafor and then a million centers afterwards. Okafor should have ended up in NY
Not a fan of the Prozingis move either but he makes more sense if the plan is to get Monroe to pair him with. KP is potentially the exact player you need to put next to Monroe to make that front court work on O and D. Also looking into the front court mate he had in spain (who the knicks got in the second round) KP has experience playing alongside a inside scoring big who isn't a shot blocker like Monroe already.
If the rumors are true and the knicks grab west on a decent deal too so the kid doesn't have to play 35 minutes as a rookie and can get some quality mentoring all the better. I don't know what the knicks are going to do at SG with the remaining cap space.

These guys are on a full court blitz to defend this pick. I think it's too risky but fuck it, I'll just watch Mario be a beast next season and enjoy that

By Dark PhaZe Go To PostMaybe one of the best pure draft rebuilds I've witnessed in a while, maybe since the Blazers after Roy, Aldridge and Oden. Pity how that one turned out obviously, but I'm extremely impressed with Flip atm.Flip really needs to take a step back and find someone else to coach the team, though. And preferrably not his friend Tom Thibodeau. Your offense is straight out of 1998, man.

The mere fact that TROLLSOHARD Isola isn't destroying the Knicks pick tells you all you need to know on whether it was a good pick or not. Phil trying pull off a Special Summon, better hope he didn't activate a Trap Card.
EDIT: OH FUCK

Hardaway Jr. was at Clyde Frazier's restaurant w/#Knicks fans when he got the trade call. Carmelo was among 1st to contact him afterward.
Isola says that Melo is very unhappy with Phil's moves thus far.
He seemed to be ok with taking Phil's supermax offer tho.

That would be an amazing development! Go full rebuild, and get assets for Melo
Isola also has met with Zingis and Kris is playing nice
Wait til the season starts and someone selected after him is showing flashes of greatness for Isola to turn on him.
Using Melo for this last season to make sure you don't give up a great pick is about the end of his usefulness in NY I think.

Asked if he considered Melo when drafting Porzingis, Phil Jackson says Melo's "always on my mind." Adds he had to do what's best for NY too.

Porzingis says he's watched Garnett, Aldridge, Dirk, P. Gasol a lot and tries to incorporate aspects of their approach into his game.
listening to SAS on a podcast and I didn't know Tyson was going to knicks games and flying back to LA to be with his dying mother the last year he was here. It explain why he was so zoned out the entire year.

This is true. CHA turned down a major haul for No. 9, BOS was going full throttle for Winslow, per sources.

SAS was just on sirius radio and is saying Melo should ask to be traded now and we know how he is CAA's mouthpiece. He didn't say Melo wants a trade but he said he's heard he "livid" because the pick is obvious a post Melo pick. The trade might be sooner than later.
Winslow's shot got noticeably better as the year went along. Even average 40% from three in the tourney.

Hey guys, now that Lamb of God is gone I'll be posting really optimistic tidbits about Dakari Johnson. D-League numbers, anonymous scouting reports, obscure stats taken out of context. All that good stuff.

@APkrawczynski Towns is here. Tyus is here. And wolves aren't done yet. Sources say they are nearing agreement with Nemanja Bjelica to bring Euro MVP hereFlip did it.
Although I do wonder how much those unprotected Nets picks are worth...given that the Nets know they can't tank, I get the sense they're never going to blow it up and will just perpetually chase the 7th/8th spot in the East playoffs, meaning those picks are always gonna fall around 15-16.

All it takes is an injury to Bropez (not unlikely) for the bottom to completely fall out then you're looking at a potential top-5 pick.

Five Thirty Eight gives him an 80% chance of turning into a role player/solid starter. He also gives us some insurance in the front court in case we decide to offload McGary or Adams down the road.

Apparently the Celtics offered the Hornets #16 and a future Brooklyn pick for #9 so they could draft Winslow. Instead, the Hornets just couldn't pass up on Kaminsky lol

I actually don't think Kaminsky will be a bad NBA player, but will he be better than somebody available at 16 like Rashad Vaughn or Justin Anderson?
By rodeoclown Go To PostI actually don't think Kaminsky will be a bad NBA player, but will he be better than somebody available at 16 like Rashad Vaughn or Justin Anderson?Or they could have just taken Winslow.
The ??? about drafting Kaminsky is the fact that they already have Cody Zeller. Have they already given up on him after only 2 seasons?
Thus far, Charlotte has been godawful at developing talent. Like, holy hell, how has MKG only attempted 18 three-pointers in three seasons as a small forward? He literally attempted 0 last season. ZERO.

By KingGondo Go To PostOr they could have just taken Winslow.Yeah, if they were just taking the best player. It seems like they wanted somebody specifically for shooting and to stretch the floor and Winslow maybe doesn't fit that. There were shooters available later and they could've had another first, too.
Also, yeah, the front court is a little crowded there already.
