By RBK Go To PostWhere does your interest of basketball come from if you never played the sport?
What am I reading.
Most people don't do a myriad of athletic competitions and yet are fully capable of enjoying them and finding them fascinating.
By RBK Go To PostSadly Zero Tolerance has no idea what a treadmill team is either. Dude listed like 8 playoff teams.
Yes, I'm only posting because you listed the Rockets, but there's no way you can call this current makeup a treadmill team considering how long we've been together. The 3 seasons prior to Harden are by pure definition a treadmill team. Even the TMac/Yao era Rockets were viewed as contenders even if they had underwhelming postseason performances.
Mavs are a treadmill team, don't care if they took the Spurs to 7 because they still ended up going home. They weren't the favorites at all either.
Exactly why I list them. They're playoff caliber teams who will do little more than occupy some seeds and provide us with some competitive games until they actually win it all. Until they do so, treadmill team. The Rockets are the most notorious treadmill team of all, going back to the Yao/TMac days. As long as the Lakers and Spurs existed, all the Rockets could hope to do was upset. They never got over the hump.
It's not just that the Mavs took the Spurs to 7, but they won a 'ship in 2011. Dirk has his ring, so his career will not be looked upon as a failure....unlike other players mentioned in this post.

You all are going have to explain it to me because I'm legit failing to see how?

They never got over the hump.Half of what you listed aren't treadmill teams though. Again, no one knew TMac was destined to never leading a team out of the 1st round because the Rockets were considered favorites in damn near every series they faced except the 2nd Utah series. No Lakers fan would probably admit it, but the Yao/Artest/Aaron Brooks Rockets was a bad matchup and had a pretty good chance of winning that series as well.

So they haven't treadmill in 2012, 2013, 2014, and potentially 2015? Dirk's career is solidified by that one ring, but let's not act like they haven't been one since Cuban blew it up. I'll keep saying until the day I die, but no one predicted Dallas to make it, let alone win in the Finals that season as well.
By Diprosalic Go To Postdo people play american football? i would think the absolute majority never played it.Play as in I'm strapping on pads and a helmet? No, but growing up, I played a lot with my friends. Because tackling dudes with no pads is way smarter.
By RBK Go To PostYou all are going have to explain it to me because I'm legit failing to see how?You can appreciate competition without playing it yourself.
I'm more surprised that he played his first ever game and made anything. He said he was bricking after a while, means he was hittin buckets early right?
By reilo Go To Posthttp://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12735869/marcus-morris-markieff-morris-phoenix-suns-charged-felony-assaultSeason that keeps on giving. Worst case scenario happened during the season and its fucking over and still getting worse. What the fuck
By Marc J. SpearsThunder say center Enes Kanter underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and will be sidelined 4-6 weeks.I don't even feel anything anymore.
By RBK Go To PostArthroscopic surgery is nothing. It probably isn't a big deal, but this season has just been ridiculous for OKC. Every single player except Singler and Augustin has missed time due to injury iirc.
Kanter wasn't exactly "loyal" sounding at the end of the season. Dude will go to whatever team pays him the most money, and I for one would not hope to be that team.

Dude will go to whatever team pays him the most money, and I for one would not hope to be that team. The Thunder probably feel an obligation to pay him with Durant a free agent next summer and he will be restricted. His defense is a real disaster, though, and I don't think Ibaka can mask it.

Missed this when it first came out.
He's gonna be such a stud.
EDIT: I loved watching tennis growing up despite never having played tennis. Very few tennis courts are available where I grew up and rackets were prohibitively expensive. It's not unusual at all.

By Dark PhaZe Go To PostI regret every game of playground tackle football I ever playedI never got hurt, but it's really among the dumbest things I did as a kid. Any number of things could've gone
horribly wrong.

Rock hard playing surface and surrounded by fence, my friends and I were super smart.

why should he be loyal to OKC?
By Vahagn Go To PostI'm more surprised that he played his first ever game and made anything. He said he was bricking after a while, means he was hittin buckets early right?i had a basket and a half court in my backyard since i was 4, was super in to the NBA as a kid and i've been hitting FT and 3s my entire life, great way to relax. i just never found people interested in playing an actual game. Everyone always plays soccer or volleyball.

His defense is a real disaster, though, and I don't think Ibaka can mask it.Yeah, his surgery just throws another factor into the negotiations. A max offer for him would be in the $14 million/year range, which won't look nearly as bad when the cap explodes in 2016. His contract should remain tradeable as long as he continues to put up double doubles like clockwork. He'll be the centerpiece of our eventual trade for DMC. ;)
I'm fine with it, just because guys with his level of (offensive) skill in the post are extremely rare nowadays. We'll be unstoppable on offense when KD returns.
Sure hope his defense improves somewhat though.
RT @WojYahooNBA: Brooks will immediately become a top candidate for the openings in Orlando and Denver, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
Scotty's a good fit for those teams. I bet he goes to Orlando.
Now the big question is who we'll replace him with. I'd actually be fine with Ollie.

Woj floated the Billy Donovan rumor and he was first with the rumors of Brooks getting fired.
Not sure how I feel about that.

RT @WojYahooNBA: Sources: Private equity billionaire Antony Ressler, who leads group that includes Grant Hill, is progressing on deal to buy Atlanta Hawks.

By DY_nasty Go To PostClifford isn't getting fired, is he?yall would just replace him with Doug Collins or some shit
Grant Hill getting in on a team would be cool. :o
By knux-future Go To Postyall would just replace him with Doug Collins or some shitI'd take Doug Collins. Hell, I'd happily take Dunlap back.
By Moris Go To PostThibs in OKC would be murder. I mean that he would kill all their stars. We don't need an authoritarian either. Russ would pull a Carlesimo on Thibs after getting bitched at in practice.
Ollie's the safest choice imo. Most likely to keep KD and Russ in the fold while commanding respect.
Ollie probably isn't leaving UConn. Dude has a damned good setup. Way too good for a high pressure, win now or lose everything job like OKC next year.
Always liked Gentry, seems like he got the boot unfairly from Phoenix. Would have really liked him to land in LA.
I highly doubt we hire an retread NBA coach. Ollie, Donovan or maybe even Hoiberg is more likely than Gentry.
Woj reporting that Ollie has significant interest in the Thunder job.
Really hope it happens. He makes the most sense by far IMO.

Ollie would be dumb to leave Uconn . He could probably work there till he's 80 and get a statue when he retires. I doubt he coaches OKC for more than 5 years.
If Scotty Brooks comes to Orlando I might just throw something.
We finally JUST got rid of Vaughn for goodness' sake.
