There's no way the Lakers make the playoffs this year with Kobe killing their team and cap sheet. That's why all of the talk of signing big time free agents was hilarious because it would have ended up in a Dwight situation all over again. With Cousins, he'll be under contract long term so they'll have the ability to build a team around him once Kobe finally leaves.

He's currently in a "team friendly" contract. His next one will be his payday, comparitively. Especially with cap increases. I doubt he walks on any team he ends up on considering bird rights.
