The Atlanta Falcons will forfeit a fifth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft and be fined for "piping in" crowd noise during the 2013 and 2014 seasons, the NFL announced on Monday.
NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Troy Vincent released a statement detailing the punishments for the Falcons, including the forfeiture of a 2016 draft pick and a $350,000 fine. A review of the team found that the Falcons ownership and senior executives were unaware of the violations and that one former team employee acted independently.
The NFL stays joking.
I could see that being OK if the team officials were aware of it, but they found out, fired the responsible party, and they *still* get punished?
What a joke.

I'm sure there are plenty of NBA teams that do this too. A lot of quiet arenas suddenly get really loud then really quiet at key times, almost as if someone were flicking a switch...
Also, that Brooooklyyyyyn chant is mad phoney.

As others have said not in the NFL. The last few rounds are where the really important role players come from. A lot of great linemen have come from those rounds.
By etiolation Go To Post Didn't Seattle do the same thing for years?
What? No. Hell no. CenturyLink Field been the loudest stadium in the NFL for over a decade, and the Kingdome was just as loud before that.
The Falcons got caught because the crowd noise was abnormally loud and inconsistent.
