To be honest, I have no issues with any of the players opting to not say anything or try to start a fight. Violence is stupid, it solves nothing, Jimmy's already demanded a trade, and the injury risk isn't worth it.
My favorite part about this is that Thibs didn't say anything during practice. The dude who spent all last year and this summer ignoring that his team had a major chemistry problem and then ignoring a trade request from Butler because he thinks he can woo him back into the fold. Screams at young men all the time to quit being soft and totally wilts when confronted with an unruly player showing him up at practice. What a fucking joke. He's gotta go now.

agreed, I'm a Harder footwork hater but this doesn't trigger me at all. Looks worse than it is
By blackace Go To Postthat's legal… people just mad because it's HardenLook at the screen grab from the first video, they are calling that his "pivot foot".
By blackace Go To Postthat's legal… people just mad because it's HardenThat's a travel anywhere but the NBA though right? Using normal basketball rules the two steps after the gather have to be towards the basket, at least that's what I remember. Strangely the NBA rules also say you can come to a complete stop after the two steps which I've never seen anyone do.

I am talking about the bottom video, he clearly takes 2 steps and shoots off a dribble move

The league can keep redefining what a travel is for whoever is the MVP at the time.
So glad the Knicks aren't interested in Butler

i used to think the NBA only called traveling when shit just didn't look right. now they dont even do that anymore. strange times.

By blackace Go To Posttowards the rim is outdated and applies no where these days…Really? Not doubting you cause I only watch the NBA and haven't played organized ball in 20 years but it seems odd. Kids are doing stuff like this in highschool?

By alt sy Go To PostTowns just wants play blops with the boys.I think he just wants to play for a coach that doesn't incessantly berate his players and with a teammate "alpha dog" that doesn't try to inspire leadership through bullying.
Lord willing, both of his wishes will come true soon enough.

Butler is an asshole that thinks too highly of himself and his leadership skills. He isn’t a good one, and if his PR team is trying to portray him as some alphadog badass, to me it’s just making him seem like he is more drama than he is worth.

Such miraculous footwork you got niggas questioning themselves and what they know.

lol
Durant literally carries everytime he dribbles . That ain't getting called unless you bring the ball damn near to your head.

And most people don't doubt he has a reason to be annoyed that wiggins isn't better.
it was a clear non travel---just a very well done hop step into a shot
he's mastered the step back to the point where he doing tricks with it now lol---gotta respect it

Why trade for Jimmy when's it's inevitable he'll turn around and do the same to you in a few years time.

I've always been of the opinion that really hard carry rules for basic dribbling is just being anal, the only time I call a carry in pickup is when there's a very obvious attempt to "suspend" the ball illegally to avoid a bad outcome. You get guys in pickup crying about carries on guys who aren't even being defended at the time lol, it's crazy.
The issue with calling fouls or violations in sports is that the rules are (like most sets of rules and laws in life in general) are guidelines instead of strict rules.
This becomes a major issue in the playoffs in the NBA when basically every play would be a foul by a strict interpretation of the rule and this gets fans mad on almost every possession where a foul isn't called.
The issue of how strictly to interpret the rules is something I've thought about a lot and something I'm conflicted on.

The odd thing about Jimmy is he was crying in Chi about Fred being too soft so they traded back to his old coach...Turns he didn't really

By blackace Go To Postbtw who does Minny hire if they fire Thibs?Depends on who the next GM is, I guess. The interim is probably Ryan Saunders. Only coach on the staff that doesn't have any connection to Thibs, players like him, and he's Flip's son, which is obviously meaningful to the one voice in this that counts.

That's cool that Ryan has remained with the team. Really cool.
I might try to snatch Tony Bennett from UVA. Just a matter of time until that program nosedives.

By blackace Go To PostI don't know if that would even be a good idea for Ryan…He'll be fine. He's young and can bounce back from a weird interim season and find another job elsewhere if it came to that.
The team will get some kind of lift just from having Thibs gone, though. Not having a guy married to outdated schemes and grinding his starters into dust will be some real relief for these guys.
